Iran has been fiddling and fussing about boosting its nuclear fuel processing level to 20% for a while now, and seems to want to make it a permanent thing. The 2015 deal was that the enrichment levels would stay well below 20%. It’s only a short step from there to the 90% level that can produce a nuclear weapon, however low-yield that might be.

The plan was to have a South Korean diplomat meet with the Iranian government to discuss releasing those funds currently held by Seoul. Now? Well, it appears that Iran, with its underground nuke fuel processing plant at Fordo capable of boosting the level to 90% enrichment, is just itching for a chance to have a brawl with someone.

Iran is purposely increasing their enrichment levels to 20% to force negotiations. It is less than required for nuclear weapons but enough to force negotiations.
And a new deal will likely be even harder to get and require more concessions and assurances than the last one…
If you don’t want a deal then don’t whine about the consequences of not having one.

If didn’t want them enriching uranium should have kept the deal. Like literally every major foreign policy expert and international security expert, and every single ally said you should; keep the deal.
The deal was not perfect but it significantly reduced their efforts and rare of progress toward developing nuclear weapons to almost undetectable levels.

The Kenyon Jesus gave Iran an airplane load of cash as well as other financial incentives to stop their nuclear ambitions. After receiving the cash, they immediately started back on their program of nuclear enrichment and used our tax dollars to pay off insurgents in Iraq and other mideast countries. They also didn’t allow complete inspections of their facilities that was part of the deal.
