Woman, 67, fatally shoots man stealing from her Marquette Park garage: police
She was notified by a neighbor and confronted the man as he exited a side door of the garage.
A 67-year-old woman shot and killed a man allegedly stealing items from her garage Sunday morning in Marquette Park on the Southwest Side.
The homeowner got a call from her neighbor, alerting her that someone was breaking into her garage in the 7100 block of South Mozart Street, according to Chicago police spokeswoman Sally Bown.
The woman told investigators she went outside with a gun and found the man exiting a side door of the garage, holding some of her belongings, Bown said. She shot him in the chest.

Great quote by Gideon J. Tucker there. Never truer words…

And some with a fountain pen…..”

Another old school from somebody, or the deep dark recesses of what little brain I have left; “…and with twenty-six (26) leaden soldiers, I can conquer the world!” Prolly from someone who practiced/developed yellow journalism. Came from waaaaaaay back in the day when printing presses used lead type blocks for printing newspapers.
“…accused of attacking a woman and being stabbed…” Just because you are accused of being stabbed… Zero (0) phuques to give, too bad you didn’t bleed out…or get a nice sepsis infection.
“She shot him in the chest.” And that, girls and boys, is how it is done. Go Granny, Go Granny, Go Granny, GO!
Kool linky/story on the Baby Browning. Back yonder, I was prone to wear vested suits for certain business and/or social obligations. Steve Harvey sense of style, if you will. Too bad the vest pocket semi I used to have didn’t float.
Was tempted by a $50 Baby in the early ’80s but fortunately was not a citizen of France and hence unable to buy. Just as well; the only reason to buy one is that the rimless .25 feeds better than a .22.
That baby Browning is a dead ringer for my Colt pocket .25 down to the grip bottom mag release, which is now wrapped with a strip of Brownells rust inhibiter paper in a food saver vaccume bag. I wonder if the paper will remove some of the Brownells Oxpho-Blue I rubbed on.
Didn’t click the link, did’ja.
*grin*
Checked out the Browning and noticed the barrel turns on grooves to remove it like my Colt .25 pocket pistol. I have to check out my NRA pistol field stripping book.
