Just out of prison, man accused of attacking couple in their Brookhaven home

A man who was released from prison just over a month ago was arrested again Thursday in connection with a home invasion, stabbing and burglary involving a husband and wife in Brookhaven, authorities said.Just after 4 p.m., Kristin Ottofy was in the shower when she looked up and saw a man standing in the bathroom of her home in the 1600 block of North Druid Hills Road, she told Channel 2 Action News. She said the man, identified by police as Jimmy David Mills, 56, of Atlanta, asked her if she was alone.
That’s when she screamed for her husband.
“It’s really scary,” Ottofy told Channel 2. “(It) feels like a movie, not like real life.”
Paul Prae rushed downstairs and began to fight with Mills, who was taller and 100 pounds heavier than him, the husband told the news station. His wife was able to grab their 4-month-old and make her way upstairs.

Homeowner shoots 2 alleged gang members during burglary in Pico Rivera
Two gang members suspected of burglarizing a home in Pico Rivera early Friday morning were shot by the homeowner, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to the 8400 block of Serapis Avenue around 1:15 a.m. and found two adult suspects suffering from gunshot wounds, authorities said.
The homeowner opened fire on one of the suspects who broke into the residence through a window, wounding the suspect, according to the department.
The homeowner then stepped out onto his back patio, where he confronted the second suspect, who he believed was reaching for a firearm. The second suspect, who has not been identified, was shot and killed.
A getaway driver who took the wounded suspect to an area hospital was taken into custody. The wounded suspect was undergoing surgery, according to a detective.

Carjacker shot after jumping into SUV with woman, HPD says

A suspected carjacker is in the hospital after being shot by a man at a gas station off the Eastex Freeway near the Beltway in northeast Houston.The shooting happened just a few feet away from the doors and the pumps at a Valero gas station around 1:15 a.m.
Investigators say a male suspect in a black Ford F-150 was apparently involved in some kind of accident on the freeway, and pulled into the Valero.
At that same time, HPD says a couple was at one of the gas pumps; a woman was inside a silver SUV and a man was outside pumping gas.
That’s when the driver of the Ford F-150 attempted to carjack the silver SUV with the woman inside, investigators say.
According to police, the suspect jumped into the driver’s seat and tried to take off.
Once again the coveted Daily FGS Trifecta eludes us, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. Not for lack of trying, though- BZ to the Citizens protecting themselves and others.
