Police: FedEx Driver Fatally Shoots Suspect During Armed Robbery In Northeast Philadelphia

By Alexandria Hoff
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police say a FedEx driver fatally shot a suspect during an attempted robbery in Northeast Philadelphia on Tuesday night. The shooting happened shortly after 7 p.m. on the 600 block of Unruh Avenue in the city’s Lawndale neighborhood.

It should have been a routine delivery with the 32-year-old FedEx driver dropping off a package to a home in the area, but that’s when police say, an armed gunman approached and robbed the driver, perhaps not anticipating that the FedEx driver was also armed.

“He was able to tell police that he was making a delivery on the 600 block of Unruh and right when he got done making that delivery, he was approached by at least one male and he was robbed at point of gun,” Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

Police say the driver was shot once in the abdomen during the robbery. Police say as they were receiving calls about shots fired in the area, the FedEx driver was able to drive himself to a nearby parking lot away from the scene.

He was transported to Einstein Medical Center and is in stable condition.

He told police that after being shot in the stomach, he pulled out his own weapon and returned fire at the suspect.

Of Course Kamala Harris Supports Gun Confiscation
By DAVID HARSANYI

There’s already a concerted gaslighting* effort underway to convince voters that Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s vice-presidential nominee, would never support something as crazy as the confiscation of millions of firearms.

Take this USA Today factcheck headlined “Kamala Harris didn’t say she’d send police to take firearms via executive order.” You may notice the highly narrow specificity of this debunking. It’s a little game political media like to play — the Associated Press miraculously ran almost an identical piece on the same day — in which reporters take a hyperbolic backbencher’s comments or a misleading social-media post — in this case, a Facebook post that is “gaining traction” — and use it as a strawman to deceive voters about one of the controversial positions of their favored politician.

While USA Today is correct that Harris has never explicitly maintained that she would sign an executive order to “send police” to break down your door, she is the first person to be on a major presidential ticket in American history who openly supports gun confiscation. Whether she promised to implement those plans through legislation or via executive order is also, at best, opaque, despite factcheckers’ efforts to claim otherwise.

It’s interesting that I’ve seen a couple of articles about employees of major companies defending themselves and they haven’t been fired.

A year ago FedEx would’ve had the press release out about the driver being fired before the ink had dried.

Hopefully this trend will continue.

Have to wait until the man gets out of the hospital to be sure, but yeah, sounds good.

I wasn’t packing the night I got robbed delivering pizza; I just threw the pizza and ran (probably with an angelic assist for the first forty yards since I can’t run that fast!). Dude got about twenty bucks worth of pizza, bread, and a hot bag. He left his coat on the ground so he may have lost money. I never heard if the guy got arrested.

I now wonder if my old company has changed their use of firearms during a holdup. So I won’t be called a racist, I didn’t mention race and use up my keyboard type writing ribbon. One spool left in the drawer for my Smith Corona typewriter. I wonder if this ones compatable with the PC keyboard. black & red ribbon.

Joe’s Ho wants to get her hands on every gun she can. And I don’t mean firearms.
