Saturday Feel Good Story
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro police are investigating after a homeowner shot and killed an intruder in South Nashville Wednesday morning.
The shooting happened just after 6 a.m. at a home in the 300 block of Radnor Street.
Officials told News 2 72-year-old Henry Schuster returned home to find 27-year-old Taylor Lowery inside his residence.
Schuster told police he went out for breakfast and upon returning home, he saw a kitchen window screen laying on the floor along with several other items that were on the window sill.
Schuster got a pistol out and began to search the rooms of his home. He then saw Lowery in the bathroom. He told police Lowery lunged at him, grabbing for the gun. Schuster then shot Lowery and ran outside to call 911. Lowery was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died.
Detectives are calling this shooting a justifiable homicide.
The completed investigative case file will be sent to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
