Christopher Jordan Dorner; Lunatic on the loose in CA
Christopher Jordan Dorner, a former LA policeman and Navy Reservist who murdered two people so far is running loose in the LA area. He’s issued a lunatic manifesto “To America” that rants and raves trying to scare people with his military experience. From the manifesto;
I will conduct DA operations to destroy, exploit and seize designated targets. If unsuccessful or unable to meet objectives in these initial small scale offensive actions, I will reassess my BDA and re-attack until objectives are met. I have nothing to lose. My personal casualty means nothing. Just alike AAF’s, ACM’s, and AIF’s, you can not prevail against an enemy combatant who has no fear of death. An enemy who embraces death is a lose, lose situation for their enemy combatants.

Hopefully you analyst have done your homework. You are aware that I have always been the top shot, highest score, an expert in rifle qualifications in every unit I’ve been in. I will utilize every bit of small arms training, demolition, ordnance, and survival training I’ve been given.
Yeah, I’m sure the Navy Reserve beat the shit out of him with all of that training. No one is mentioning any deployments, so I’m sure he’s absorbed all of these skills through osmosis by living in California and wearing a uniform near Coronado. He was fired from the LAPD three years ago, according to Fox News;
According to documents from a court of appeals hearing in October 2011, Dorner was fired from the LAPD after he made a complaint against his field training officer, Sgt. Teresa Evans, saying in the course of arrest she kicked suspect Christopher Gettler, a schizophrenic with severe dementia. Following an investigation, Dorner was fired for making false statements.
The woman he killed was the daughter of the police chief he blames for his firing – and he killed her fiance. So there’s a loot of crazy in that huge head, and little of it has much to do with his military service, apparently. Just enough for the media to call him a crazy vet.

@50, Yeah, the MSM shortened his manifesto by 11 pages. Not hard to figure out why they took out the parts they did.
@ Brockway do I know you from NSW?
He kinda looks like Biggie? ….shit i forget the name of that Rap Turd who was killed in Vegas back in the 90’s ?
Seems a lot of these retreads are making it through the cracks into LE these days.
The fiance (23 years state patrol ) says a lot of it stems form affirmative action hiring practices.
I.e. they take people who would never be hired otherwise.
San Diego? Sounds like he might have decided to make a run for Mexico. Hope the guys at the border crossings are alert.
@52 Su2 and NMBC17
OT! Sorry for the delay – got distracted reading his manifesto. But here’s your bowl of popcorned butter. And thanks, clink, clink, for the ice in the drink.
After reading the manifesto, I can understand why they are going with the cop label instead of the military label – he supports the feds. Could the media figure out how to present him as a nutty vet who is supporting their agenda?
For what it’s worth: Gawker also seems to have the tool’s complete manifesto, less a few names redacted:
http://gawker.com/5982480
@56 He’s been in a military uniform in every picture I’ve seen of him. I haven’t seen one of him in a police uniform yet.
Before my current gig with the feds, I did 22 years as a local cop. If this guy was hired in 2005 and fired in 2008, what was he doing with a training officer? Normal training period is 6 months before you are cut loose. If you’re a real screw up you can get it extended by a few more months but even given academy time, there’s no way he should have been with a training officer that long. Unless he passed probation, and was such a numbnuts that he was re mediated in an attempt to get him up to speed. bet he wasn’t hired from the top of the list either. great job affirmative action, to say nothing of the Psych that had to of signed off on him.
hmmm…does manifesto mean “ramblings of a person who’s as crazy as a sh!t house rat”??
Perhaps I’m just old, but don’t only crazy people have a manifesto nowdays?
Just saying…..
RM3(SS): his manifesto claims the following:
“I had worked patrol at LAPD’s Harbor Division from 2/06 until 7/06 when I was involuntarily recalled back to active duty (US Navy) for a 12 month mobilization/deployment to Centcom in support of OIF/OEF. I returned back to LAPD’s Harbor division on 7/07 and immediately returned to patrol. I worked at Harbor division until 11/07 where I then transferred to Southwest Division. I worked At Southwest division until 6/25/08 when I was relieved of duty.”
CNN apparently got his records. According to them ,he got out of the Reserves on 1 Feb, was qualified expert in rifle and pistol and had served in “river warfare units and a mobile inshore undersea warfare unit”. River warfare units are Navy Special Warfare – right?
Not sayin’ he was Special Operations, but it seems he was at least assigned to some Special Operations units.

@62- I don’t know, but perhaps they’re referring to harbor security? Had a guy at work here get called up. He was a machinist’s mate, and they had him driving RHIBs at the mouth of a river after 9/11, controlling access to the sub base at Groton or some such. They made him qual on pistol, the 60 and a shotgun as well, and I can see them classifying that as “river warfare and inshore undersea warfare”.
But I’m not 100% certain.
Hondo, we had a guy in the Marine reserves that was recalled while he was still in the training program-I had him as a trainee. We made a special effort to get him through. It looks like turdbreath was remediated given that he was in training for 5 months prior to his deployment. If he was still with a training officer, he was a textbook screw up that they were trying to get through somehow. been there, done that with “high value” trainees. I read his “manifesto” and I just can’t see how he passed the psych.
Derpy…dude was likely not attached to SO/SW units.
Looks like he was part of the reserve Coastal Riverine Force as they are called today (a merger of the Riverine and Maritime Expeditionary Security Force (once called Naval Coastal Warfare)). Couldn’t be further from NSW if he tried.
RM3(SS): not doubting you, amigo. Just trying to provide possibly pertinent facts so someone with expertise can assess. I’m not an LEO, so I can’t assess.
Having read parts of his manifesto (couldn’t stomach reading all of it in detail), I have to agree that he doesn’t seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed. And his deck might be missing a card or two as well.
Sounds like there was a storm brewing inside this man for too long. Stay safe Angelinos.
Definitely sounds like a Port Security Unit. Since he says he deployed to CENTCOM to support both OIF and OEF, I’m guessing either Kuwait, Qatar or Bahrain.
RIVRON 1 is West Coast at Coronado.
RIVRON is not NSW.
MIUW is NECC.
PORT SEC Units or PSU’s are Coast Guard.
RIVRONs and MSRONs merged into CORIVFOR (http://tinyurl.com/aevjwwy). MIUWs and PSUs were a sub-component of the MSRON, now RIVRON.
Strangely enough, none of the original three RIVRONs were West Coast, despite the numbering convention.
If it weren’t for the serious nature of his murderous rampage, it would be really easy to laugh at the ridiculous word salad of acronyms he uses in his rants. It’s like he set out to use every single one he ever heard on deployment or something.
MCPO: don’t have the right keylist and can’t fully decrypt cmt 69. Could you retransmit “in the clear” for us Army types? (smile)
I’m reading that the Celebrity Shout Out section was fake and added on by someone else.
Hondo, alphabet soups sux:
RIVRON: Riverine Squadron (small combatant craft)
MIUW: Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare (combination of boats, radars, and acoustic sensors to maintain security of a port or other high value target.
MSRON: Mobile Expeditionary Squadron (deployable unit employing a HQ staff, ground security, C2 element, PSUs, and MIUW)
NECC: Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (head ADCON organization for these units…basically if it’s not a ship, sub, SEAL, or aircraft, it’s under NECC).
Take a look at the PDF here: http://tinyurl.com/az3fopc
NECC provides rapid deployable and agile expeditionary forces, made up of active duty and reserve mission specialists, to warfare commanders in support of maritime security operations around the globe.
Includes:
EOD
Riverine Units
Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare
and other Brown Water Navy Stuff
Big Navy’s answer to getting in the GWOT
Does Not Include NSW:
SEAL
Special Warfare Combatant Crewman (SWCC) Special Boat Units
Combat Support Tech
USCG
Port Security Units (PSU)
The best at this task and they have LE authority.
Deployed worldwide.
MCPO:
One add and one refinement:
– NECC also owns the SEABEEs, to the tune of about 43% of their end-strength.
– PSUs are USCG units, but they were attached to MSRON/RIVRON units with the port security mission.
Thanks, Chris H./MCPO. Acronyms are fine if you have the decrypt key. Otherwise, not so much. (smile)
Please feel free to tell me the same if I use an “Army-ism” you don’t understand.
@ 75 “basically if it’s not a ship, sub, SEAL, or aircraft, it’s under NECC”
Not exactly really kinda sorta maybe not …
The Navy’s org structure is abit more complicated than that!
but for Hondo and the Army guys …
I did not wnat to overload them with big words and complicated non-tangent lines of authority.
@78 …*facepalm*…
Hondo,
Another translation:
MIUW: he sat at Kuwaiti Naval Base or Bahrain providing seaward security for transiting ships during his deployment.
RIVRON: Depending on when assigned, could have been same mission as MIUW or he may have taken a turn at Haditha Dam.
78 what?
I see we have someone who should have been Dorner’s bunkmate posting from an undisclosed mental institution.
MCPO,
I view the overload as payback for having the big green machine inflicted upon myself and my Sailors.
😉
Folks: the last 3 comments from the tool posting from Quebec as “VET H8R” have been placed in “pending”. I’ll let Jonn decide what to do with that tool.
One of them was formerly comment 78. That is what Gruntling was referencing in his comment above.
If the media isn’t shouting at the top of their lungs about the person being a right wing nutjob then just assume the person is a lefty nutjob. Most of these nutjobs are lefties and the chic-fil-la mass shooter that was stopped was one as well. He actually used Southern Poverty Law Center information to find his targets. Nobody is reporting it though.
He’s a persistent trouduc Quebecois. That’s 4 now.
And now there have been 2 mistaken identity shootings by officers looking for Dorner. What a fucking mess.

Hondo … a US Navy Junior Officer (JO) and his Rambo style photos are a bit disturbing.
A LTjg or LT should be back at the houch conducting officer busniness on such deployments not posing for money shots!
As a former Command Senior Chief of reserve MIUW, Inshore Boat Unit (IBU), and Command Master Chief at a active and reserve EOD Mobile Unit … this guy does NOT look normal (as we are seeing here today).
Hondo,
Isn’t the location of the crazy poster the same as the stomping grounds of the most recent client of E. Dale Buxton II, Esq.?
MCPO,
When were you w/ EOD? We may have crossed paths…
I knew it French Canadian … I called the f*cker early!
1999 to 2004
Tech Div and 10
Could be, PPR. The tool is posting from Montreal. Seems to me that’s where Buxton’s client hung his hat. But I can’t recall for certain.
No Crab just Tech!
We missed crossing paths; i didn’t start playing until 2005. I ran the comms det at GRU1, was handed out to MU11 for the first MND-N deployment, then back to GRU as the N6/N6A.
I’ll bet we have one degree of separation: James Grimshaw.
I think somebody’s been watching too many Bourne movies.
Gruntling: I think I found VET H8R’s photo. Check out the bottom left of the following picture:
@96 – We’ve seen the movie:
