More phony soldier BS at OWS Portland
Kate sends us a link to a radio host in Portland who has discovered a phony Marine Sergeant, Micaiah Dutt. In this video, he says he terrorized entire neighborhoods in Iraq during his four tours in that war. He refers to himself as a “terrorist”.
But someone has discovered on the internet where he said he was in a transportation unit, not a door-kicker. The only terrorizing he did of neighborhoods was from his erratic driving skills, apparently;
I’m pretty sure that he had a crowded schedule if he did four tours of Iraq in his four years of service. And notice that the profile he filled out himself says he was a lance corporal, not a sergeant.
I guess hippie applause is intoxicating and makes people want to lie. I suggest that Micaiah turn himself in to the authorities immediately, since the Marines don’t allow their people to “terrorize” neighborhoods. Anywhere. It looks to me like he committed a war crime and must be punished. This is me, not holding my breath.

Ann he could be (but I doubt he is) an LAR grunt with the coveralls. They wear these like the crews do because they are flame retardent.
But those grunts carry M-4s not M-16A2s or A4s. Also, very rare for a sergeant to carry an M-203 since that is the fire team leader’s weapon. Lots of WTFs in this.
Jack, good point. In my unit the mechanics primarily wore green ones, whereas the equipment operators tended to wear tan. I’m not sure if this is a Corps wide practice. One of guys I’m in school with was an LAR guy so I’ll give him a heads up. Did this latest IVAW groupie ever mention where he was stationed? Whatever he did he was most certainly not in a billet that let him decide what stuff should go boom.
The four deployments in four years bit is hilarious. After my first deployment I had to push to get my dwell time waived because I wanted to deploy again and extend for a year there.
I don’t see any plausible way for Dutt The Doofus to pull that off since he apparently has no clue on how to spell his own rank.

If your inference is correct that you’re a Marine you would know that. I knew Sgt Dutt. He WAS a Marine Sergeant. I served with him in 2007 in Iraq (TQ). He was in charge of a convo security element. I personally do not 100% believe in what Micaiah talks about years after our delpoyment together. But I do have the highest respect for him. He was a great Marine and a lot of Marines looked up to him including myself. With all this political crap aside. Dutt is a honest man and isn’t a bullshitter! He has done 4 tours! I was on his 3rd with him. The information about him is very incorrect. I have pictures to prove it. Leave your email and I can help clear it up for you. I know he joined the Army after the Corps, which isn’t very common but I know a few people that have done it. I haven’t spoken to Dutt in probably close to two years now. But I know hundreds of people that would testify to Dutts character and military background.

Are you still listed in MOL if your End of Active Service has passed? Or is it that you can’t access the site? Either this guy is a good faker with some great attention to detail or he was a Marine (although that pic could be taken in 29 Palms). Finger is straight and off the trigger, sunglass tan, dirty rifle, issued magazine pouches, chevrons on the pouch, dirty name tape, standard issued ICB (could have purchased those anywhere, though). And those look like flight suits as opposed to coveralls (our Motor T guys wore green and “sand” colored coveralls) which were being issued to my unit’s MP’s, EOD, and I believe Motor T personnel (we were a wing unit) in 2005-2006. I believe some infantry units were wearing them as well during that time. Would have to see his DD214 to see if he was actually a Marine and in the Army.
@78- I don’t think there is doubt that he was a Marine and in the Army Reserve, it’s the claims of being a war criminal that is being questioned.

He was involuntarily discharged from the Psyop unit for unsatisfactory participation. Meaning he went AWOL from the USAR unit. since he was discharged some months ago, and these things can take some time, I dont think he had attended the units Battle Assemblies for a while.

We were issued the Tan Flight suits for convoy security due to the flame retardent features. All other units over the roads had started transitioning to the FROGs by 08 though. Did not see many dressed in their PJ’s like us. We were part of I & II MEF, Lots of Time at TQ.
Also looks like the wrong Battle rattle for 07. Vests were whole new breed by then. They were drop over and fold down type. No mid seam on velcro.

My problem with Dutt is his combat claims and his attempts to instigate violence in Portland. He gets arrested with a bunch of others and on the day they all have a court appearance, Dutt doesn’t show up. I don’t think he has to. I think he works for law enforcement.
