Woke Ford executive claims that he confronted a man who watched Fox News during the entire flight
Barrett Evans took to social media to claim that he confronted an elderly man after the latter watched Fox News during the entire flight. He saw that that the man and his wife were getting into airport wheelchairs to be pushed to their next gate. Evans said to the man, “Love to see you supporting DEI.” Evans associated the availability of wheel chairs at the airport as an example of DEI.
From the Daily Mail:
‘Deplaning and I notice he and his wife getting into their airport wheelchairs to be pushed to next gate. My filter was malfunctioning…
‘”Love to see you supporting DEI.”
‘”Not me!”
‘”Yes – you.
‘That wheelchair, and the human pushing it, are provided at no direct cost to you – rather by a subsidized cost attributed to every passenger in this airport. Provided to level the playing field – for you.”‘
Evans appears to have assumed that the Fox News viewer was a conservative who’d be against diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) measures which have been targeted by the Trump administration.
He continued: ‘Not all passengers need assistance. But for those who do–for whatever reason–the service ensures they can access the airport, navigate security, and board their plane safely and with dignity.
‘The cost being shared ensures that the service is available to those who need it, not just those who could afford to pay extra.
‘This is a real-world infrastructure of equity in action: acknowledging that different people have different needs, and creating systems to support those differences fairly.
The post, made on Friday, has since gone viral. It has been liked close to 100,000 times as of Monday morning, with over 4,000 people sharing it and almost 4,000 commenting.

Hack Stone’s next vehicle won’t be a Ford, then. This guy should send his resume over to Anheuser-Busch, because that is exactly the type of social media influence that will turn things around for Bud Lightfoot.
In this case, Mr. Stone, I don’t think the rantings of a probably soon to be unemployed former Ford “Learning Officer” affect my decision to purchase a Ford product…even if I was in the market for a new Prime Mover. Howsomeever, their lack of quality control and building some really POS product might. Pity that Ford went to hell in a (Mexico) Hand Basket. My FIRST (ht2…oh…wait…that would be YOU!) vehicle waaaay back yonder was a Chevy. Since then I’ve driven most anything you can name and owned a multitude of different brand names. From ’85 to ’97 I put pert near 200K miles a year on different Taurus Models and never had a single problem from any of them. Doubt if that can happen today. Biggest mistake Ford ever made (besides hiring this dumbass) was shutting down the Hapeville Assembly Plant and moving that production elsewhere. My ’05 F150 (Big Red) has 112K miles on him and runs as well as it did the day I drove it off the lot. An ’18 Ford Flex (The Ark) has a shade over 25K, the ride and drive is as smooth as silk whether I’m hauling passengers (6) with luggage or a load of misc freight and what not. Little Josey (The Gray Rider Nismo) is a 6 speed turbo charged bat out of hell that is all kinds of fun to drive. He being a small SUV I can haul all kinds of stuff in him, too. If I was in the market for something new, I’d look at the Japanese Products. They seem to have less quality control problems and still take pride in what they do. The UAW folks…not so much. I’ve used the wheelchair assist several times since I got wobbly, not able to walk long distances, or stand for any length of time. Couldn’t air travel otherwise, thru the ATL for sure. Not sure how much other passenger’s “subsidize” the service but I think the majority of the wheelers make their $ off tips. I always give them $5-10 for a job well done of getting… Read more »
Some people need to learn to MYOB.
This self-important “executive” needs to read “And Then There Were None” (Eric Frank Russell).
https://www.abelard.org/e-f-russell.php
I think the first page alone would be enough to send him into conniptions and apoplexy.
“Some people need to learn to MYODB.”
Fixed it for you.
Read the link/story.
Yes, I agree, MYODB, but the story is 1950s with a lot less “language” then we’re used to today.
My history of current events is a little fuzzy. When did we start using wheel chairs at airports and when did the DEI nuttiness start?
Google says 1986 they became more common when they became mandatory. That does seem to follow but they were certainly there before then.
I do say I am inspired though. I now want to go find a guy in a wheelchair and push him around with my self perceived and self aggrandizing moral superiority. Not only will I feel better about myself but; if I do it right, I should be able to make an elderly man in a wheelchair cry about his situation in life.
The last time I argued with a liberal on a plane about politics was 2010 when Obamacare was a hot topic. I was on a three hour flight mid day and picked up a big Cobb Salad at a take out place at the airport. I carefully placed it under my jacket on the floor.
A very large and heavy man sits next to me on the plane and literally starts preaching to me about socializing medicine as soon as he sits down. I figure he was about 39 seconds from a heart attack at any moment. No way I’d be able to do CPR in the aisle.
I politely demurred and told him I didn’t agree with his politics. He was also one of the many that wrongfully believed that the military medical system was some kind of socialism. I then reached under my seat, grabbed my salad and started lunch. He looked at me kind of funny and asked if I had brought it with me. Without breaking a beat I told him no and and that there were salads under all the seats because it was a three hour flight. He about broke his neck trying to find it under the seat and after a suitable amount of time I told him, yep, there is no such thing as a free lunch.
The rest of the flight was blissfully quiet.
I had the unfortunate timing to be flying Delta during day one of their computer crisis last summer. High point of the trip was watching Joe Biden drop out of the race while I was stranded at the Jackson Hole WY airport bar. I’ve never seen so many liberal tears, I think the bartender and I were the only conservatives in the room. Snake River Brewing’s Jenny Lake Lager never tasted better.
Jenny lake lager made from liberals tears? Maybe they can broaden their distribution area like yuengling beer did.
I’d be a happy man if I could get either or both in AZ!
A classic true anecdote.
Oh my fucking god!!!
Some random old man on a flight MUST hear his take on the world because he dared to watch Fox News. If I was that guy I’d tell him ‘At my age, I ran of fucks years ago. Why you bother somebody that might have some?’
This thread needs pictures. Here is Mr and Mr Evans
Which one of these suckers of you-know-what is our Ford hero? I bet it is the one on the left. The one on the right is likely the catcher.
Nailed it. My problem is how did he know it was a man he was talking to? Did he ask the elderly subject what his pronouns were? I’m willing to be he didn’t and therefore was in the wrong.
I was going to say Mr. Evans should go suck a dick, but he already does that.
Nevermind.
I’m thinking the proper retort would be “Don’t suck a dick!”
I frigin guarantee you, that aint his first dick.
He has sucked a full bag of dicks.
Maybe we can find his address, and pay him a visit.
I understand eggs are more plentiful and cheaper now.
Thank God for the AIDS.
So, all DEI recipients are disabled?
See, I told you assholes (not you assholes, those assholes) capitalism works! This ‘executive’ is a soulless prick and even he knows how the handicapped are retarded!
Ffs, this bag of douche could’ve just minded thier own business.
Welp, people advocating DEI are mentally disabled—severe incurable TDS and lefttardism.
And a shitload of narcissism to boot!
An executive sitting with the unwashed masses? Did they run out of first-class seats?
It is the Chief Learning Officer. I figured it should be called Chief of Education and Training but I doubt that is what is going on. Certainly not if it is harassing elderly disabled people. Either way, just a strap hanger.
Director of employee indoctrination.
So a doorman at a fancy apartment building is a DEI hire, and the guy who bags your groceries and takes them to the car for you, and the pizza delivery guy, and the kid who pumps your gas, and the life guards on the beach, and and and… these people are literally nuts. I would have said very loudly “I dont care about your fetish for old men, you cannot suck on my penis” .
“Or how much you want to pay me”
Dude. I almost spilled my light beer!
Good thing I am not as old as most you fckrs and I caught it in the air.
If it had been a real drink, like the crazy shit you guys drink, I would have missed it.
Not because of being a real drink, but because you are so old!
Some of are as old as dirt. I was likely born long before your daddy first crapped a diaper.
—…”us”…. I have a son who is 50.
Now days when I see someone watching Fox. I assume they’re liberal. And it’s just like brain dead DEI liberals to think handicapped people are all about being and using DEI services. Maybe we should change the American Disabilities Act to show it’s DEI and it’s your color, religion, race, ethnic origin, etc that really handicaps you. And not having limbs or heart trouble or other physical disabilities that handicap you. This Woke Ford guy is like most liberals that support left wing causes. They have no idea what they are supporting, but it makes him feel superior and righteous. Mr Evans your an asshole for doing what you did to that elderly couple.
I would add arrogant to your descriptor of this moron.
Fire that fool.
Fuck HIM, the horse he rode in on AND his retarded hound dog as well!
There, jazzed it up a wee bit!
He didn’t describe DEI, he described Marxism.
DEI is the practice of providing preferential treatment to people based on immutable characteristics to “compensate” for past or current perceived imbalances.
Socialism is “from each according to their ability, to each according to their need”.
Two different concepts, although equally destructive to a functioning and fair society.
Borderline civil rights violation of a protected class to boot.
Oh…and he was wrong about it anyway.
The reason airlines provide accommodations for people with disabilities is because without them, the people with disabilities wouldn’t be able to navigate the airport and would refrain from flying…which, of course, means they’d also be refraining from paying the airlines hundreds (or thousands) of dollars to do so.
Yes, the costs of those accommodations are spread amongst all passengers, but the airlines don’t do it out of some socialistic ideal, they do it for purely capitalist reasons…to entice people to give them money for the service they provide.
And before someone mentions that it’s the law for airlines to provide these services, I wonder who was lobbying congress to get that law passed?
Here’s how these things tend to go. United and American and Delta and Soutwest are big airlines and have most of the market share, but upstarts like Admiralty Air and Vanguard and Valuejet are cutting into their profits.
So…the big guys knowing that part of the way the “budget” airlines can undercut their prices is by not providing services that the big airlines do. So the big companies start lobbying for regulations requiring the smaller airlines to provide services that they, due to their tighter profit margins, can’t afford without significantly raising their prices…like, say, the costs of having to maintain enough extra airport personnel to provide support to passengers with disabilities. Those costs include salaries, benefits and payroll taxes on employees that are only needed occasionally.
They lobby for the law and get it passed and, predictably, the small upstarts can’t afford it and either go out of business outright, or sell out to the bigger companies, protecting the market share of the big guys.
That’s how corporate welfare works and it’s how many, many, many onerous regulations and laws came into being. It’s not DEI; it’s malevolent capitalism.
Not anymore. Since 1986 it has been required by Federal Law. Don’t know if it changed anything or not.
DEI is showcased as equal opportunity used to be showcased, but it’s Marxism in disguise. Take your description… “compensate” for past or current perceived imbalances”. Take these groups of people and replace “past imbalances” with “proletariat”. Take the opposite group, those who normally are included “privileged”, who did not have a past or perceived imbalances… Replace them with “bourgeoise”
Reread the DEI literature making those replacements and you have Marxism staring back at you.
Here’s a common example… Hiring people of color for positions they may not be qualified for due to DEI. Whites, who are better qualified, face not getting these jobs as they’re pushing to increase the non-White population’s representation… Something that would “naturally” happen had it not been for past imbalances. In this case, it’s the jobs being redistributed and, by extension, the money they pay.
“Equity” is one of the words used by Marxists/Socialists. Like CRT, another Marxist argument in disguise dividing by race rather than class, makes same arguments if you replace privileged with “bourgeoise” and non-privileged with “proletariat”. Equity advocates equal outcome via taking from others, whether that’s with the wealth or with outcomes regarding hirings, awards, etc., like in DEI and CRT.
Here’s an article where someone explains DEI’s association with Marxism:
The Equity Delusion and Its Marxist Roots
Wot a cocksucker
It’s kind of funny- in the offices of the large entity I work for, the DEI ‘specialists’ cubicles are almost always empty, with a ‘WORKING REMOTELY ‘ placard hanging of their monitor. As the saying goes, nice work if you can get it j guess.
I just want to say, if you want to learn why societies evolve along different paths, read “Guns, Germs, and Steel” by Jared Diamond.
Brilliant take on societal evolution.
Research question:
Why did Hernan Cortez conquered the Aztec Empire with 500 men, 50 horses, and one cannon, instead of Montezuma sending an expedition to conquer Europe?
Metallurgy.
Research question:
Why did Zheng He failed to discover Europe or America in the 1420s, when Columbus in 1492 managed to cross the Atlantic in a ship one quarter the size?
Drawn version. Still to scale.
Nobody asked him to. His commission was to find better trade routes and spread Ming influence in Asia and Africa. Nobody had ever come from the East so it was figured to be pointless to go that way.
At that time, people assumed that there was nothing but ocean from the west coast of Europe and Africa all the way to Asia. So, there was no need to send missions to the new world. They understood that the world was round then, but the idea of sending ships out west from Europe or east from Asia to get to the other side of the Eurasian continent did not fit the maritime paradigm back then… Sailing along trade routes parallel to the continents. The Muslims cutting the Europeans at the Middle East part of the silk road forced folks like Columbus to break that paradigm.
As for Zhen He’s fleet. China sent out ships under the command of Zheng He with the goal of increasing China’s power, influence, trade, etc. in the Indian Ocean area. The big ship shown in the image is a model of what they called a “treasure ship”. One of their objectives was to bring valuable goods back to China. It was accompanied by logistic ships and war ships, which were smaller in comparison.
Christopher Columbus and Zhen He had different objectives.
Last time I saw something this stupid, I was at the Honolulu Airport and a guy was wearing a “End Fossil Fuels” t-shirt. I asked where he was going. He said “I’m flying to Maui”. I asked why he didn’t sail. He looked puzzled as I laughed and walked away.
Jeez, more corporate “woke”- ness:
