Fort McCoy Commander relieved in aftermath of chain-of-command wall missing Trump, Vance, and Hegseth portraits

Colonel Sheyla Baez Ramirez, Fort McCoy commander, was relieved of duty. Ramirez gained social media attention after the base chain-of-command board showed no photo where President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth should’ve been. Ramirez’s suspension came in the aftermath of a probe into why the frames were missing photos.

The commander of Fort McCoy was relieved of duty after the U.S. Army base failed to install photos of President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on a wall displaying their chain of command.
Col. Sheyla Baez Ramirez was suspended as garrison commander of Ft. McCoy in Wisconsin. “This suspension is not related to any misconduct,” the U.S. Army Reserve Command said in a statement, “We have no further details to provide at this time while this matter is under review.”
Hegseth on Sunday reposted an X post claiming: “Commander of Fort McCoy, whose base chain-of-command board was missing photos of Trump, Vance and Hegseth, has been SUSPENDED.”
It came after the Defense Department (DOD) announced a probe into why a wall displaying the chain of command had empty frames on the wall where Trump, Vance and Hegseth’s images would typically be displayed.
A new image they posted of the wall showed the frames had been filled.
“Regarding the Ft. McCoy Chain of Command wall controversy…. WE FIXED IT! Also, an investigation has begun to figure out exactly what happened,” the department’s rapid response account posted on X.
Ramirez assumed the garrison commander role in ??July of last year.
Previously, she had served as chief of the Reserve Program, United States Army Intelligence and Security Command at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and in other roles throughout the Army and Army Reserves.
The move came after a series of leadership shake-ups across the U.S. military. Earlier this month, the Pentagon fired the base commander for Pituffik Space Force Base in Greenland after she “undermined” Vance.

Multiple conflicting claims over this. She said they had been there but were stolen. Others say she had them removed. No way to find out what the real deal is until the investigation is done, but this preemptive action is pretty damning.
It takes a Colonel in the Army exactly one hour to get new command photos of higher leadership.

Even if they were, it is the commanding officer’s duty and responsibility to be aware of/be made aware of everything within their command, and fix whatever happens most ricky tic.

We had a problem in Iraq with Trump’s picture disappearing from the command board. Turns out a SFC was taking them down. She also forged a commander’s memo, was the CSMs rat and instigated a IG against our COL.
Maybe true but all she had to do was to order replacements and have them immediately reinstalled. No excuses here IMHO.

Clear about her preferred candidate this past summer, perhaps thinking continued Democrat rule would see her picked for a star, this may be the pretext.

She may be fully qualified, and this may have been a foul-up by another in her command, but then we have the tradition that the commander is responsible for everything that occurs under their command.

Every time I walked into the Minneapolis VA Hospital over the past four years and saw the vacuous smile of Joe Biden staring at me from his official photo on the wall I wanted to rip it down, piss on it, and toss it in the nearest GI can. And I would imagine quite a few others wanted to as well.

Ft McCoy is in the back country. Out of sight, out of mind. I will look for photos on my next visit, just to make sure The presidents picture is displayed. It’s one of those things you assume is done and don’t think about. What a turd she is for such a petty thing.

My son spent his first 2 weeks of Navy Basic Training at Ft. McCoy in Oct ’20. During COVID, they quarantined new recruits there before resuming training at Great Lakes. Needless to say, he was not a fan.
Ft. (Nee Camp) McCoy…a Tropical Paradise /s/. Colonel “Red” Hanrahan alluded to the fact that “Camp” McCoy would’ve been a better location for The Special Forces Training Center than Ft. Bragg since it was just this side of the middle of no where and not as noticeable. Might of had something to do with Colonel “Red” wanting to make sure that “His” Special Forces troops were not under the thumb/influence of the 82nd AB/18th AC Ossifers.
One would think that an Ossifer assigned to an “Intelligence” unit would have some…well…Intelligence. I guess not, huh, ’cause here we are.
If I were the post commander and I walked to my office after PT or whatever, and I noticed missing pics (whoever they were,) I’d been “Lieutenant Snuffy Smith, find out wtf the deal is with those portraits and get them in there!”. No excuses.

If you look at the photos in the “We Fixed It” X Post, it appears that while the frame for the President is apparently right side out and empty, the other two frames are merely reversed in the holders, and had only to be flipped around to make the photographs visible.
There was one report that this was a soldierly prank and the Colonel fixed it as soon as it was brought to her attention.
But “A lie will go round the world while truth is pulling its boots on.”
That said, she is still obviously NOT in compliance with Army weight standards.
