My cat’s groomer has a disinfectant (Ro-Kill) that is diluted with water and will kill any surface infectious agents. A gallon jug will last for years because you dilute it so much.
What I noticed about those photos of Venezuela’s civil unrest is that there is NO BREAD available, probably because the ingredients (yeast and flour) are not available.
I use dry bouillon like Knorr’s products for cooking because they are cheaper than the canned stuff, a jar lasts a long time, and they take up less space than the canned/boxed stuff. But you should know how to make your own stock and store it, if possible.
You should ALWAYS have a copy of Stocking Up available, a basic first aid manual, and a copy of Green Kitchen Handbook, plus a book that IDs plants by picture AND use, such as medicinal properties.

Give the Poodleboy a one-way ride, with armed escort, to present-day Venezuela and drop him off in one of the major cities. We’ll see just how long he lasts that way. An angry crowd is an ugly thing.
Here’s something to consider: Venezuela’s wheat production up to 1988 was about 1,000 MT (million tonnes) per year, with 1966 showing 2,000MT. In 1988, wheat production ceased altogether. Green coffee production averaged around 950,000 to 1,000,000 60KG bags per year until Chavez took over. Then it dropped severely to around 500K 60KG bags. Same thing with rice, but for some reason, not only has crop production dropped under Chavez and Maduro, these products are not getting to the general populace because they are rationed and restricted.

But it isn’t, and it’s getting even poorer now, because of economic mismanagement on a world-historical scale. The problem is simple: Venezuela’s government thinks it can have an economy by just pretending it does.’
Neither Chavez nor Maduro thought that the price of crude oil would drop from $140/bbl (high) to $25/bbl(low) and depended far too heavily on oil production and sales to support a laughably incompetent government. They depended entirely on oil sales for everything and look where it got them.
As Mikhail Gorbachev essentially said in his farewell speech, mismanaging resources is not the way to run a government.
This, of course, does not occur to a nominally-aware stool pigeon like the poodle because until he started getting a government check in the Army (what HE told us), he was a bum.
Meanwhile, the rest of us were working for a living and are now enjoying the fruits of our labors.

Rouseff in Brazil has been deposed. I do not expect to see Maduro, who is an incompetent ass, in charge too much longer. According to one news source, in Venezuela, Caracas is as bad as any Bosnian town during that civil war.
