Steven Styblo; VFW phony POW

| March 8, 2014

Steven Styblo

Scotty sends us his work on this lowlife POS, Steven Styblo, in Phoenix. Styblo got into the VFW with these phony documents;

Steven Styblo WTF

Steven Styblo WTF2

Yeah, POW, like that’s not hard to check. Actually, our buddy, Mike McGrath, you know, a real Vietnam POW and President of NAM-POWs says that he’s FOS, too. Now, Styblo is running for Post Commander at the local VFW. They might be a little surprised by his actual records;

Steven Styblo FOIA

Yeah, not only did he NOT serve during the Vietnam War, he didn’t even make it out of the recruiting center. Never went to Basic Training. His only service (if you can call it that) was in the Delayed Entry Program. He was never even issued his uniforms. He probably raised his hand and promised to serve, but then never did. But who needs to serve when you can just make shit up, put lies on a piece of paper and everyone believes you?

Nice screening process you have there, VFW.

Makes me wonder how the VFW even allowed this guy in. I know times have changed with DD214 and military history forms. No way they could have thought that would pass as a legit form. All you have to do is google this guy or look at his Youtube videos, got people on there calling him a fake for nearly a decade or so. Hell that email Scotty had was in 2000 saying he was a phony.

So how could this clown continue to lie and parade around. It was not as if he moved to another state or across the nation.

So this guy basically has been lying for nearly 30 plus years.

HMCS(FMF) ret

If the local VFW had spend just a little bit of time vetting this and the other assholes that play the “Rice Paddy Daddy” card then Styblowme, Bernasty and the other phonies would have been outed and ran out of the VFW a hell of a lot sooner. But, when you have a PAC that spend time schmoozing your “friends” and not taking care of the business at hand, then you’ve lost your way worse than a 2LT with a GPS…

HMCS(FMF): unfortunately, if I recall correctly Bernath actually does qualify for the VFW. He legitimately rates the VSM from an offshore tour during Vietnam. Hopefully national will permanently revoke his membership and “blacklist” him for the crap he pulled re: PO1 Sheppard’s photo and his other dipstickish behavior.

This j-hole, on the other hand . . . .

@ FMF – No kidding, one thing nobody really talks about and its VFW vetting of credentials. Almost like a country club with buddy buddy preference. How all these phony bikers get in, fake vietnam vets and phony Desert storm assholes show up there and get in. It is one of the turn offs of not joining or going to VFW because I have a fear that I will see a shit load of phonies in one room.

@ Hondo – Yeah shocking that Bernath actually did that. Despite being a weasle. He should be banned for life, but I guarantee you that this guy could fly into Florida and get into a VFW post.

Its startling that this guy would re-emerge after questions about him were answered nearly 15 years ago it seem. Sure the old president probably did not google or ask any questions. But look at that freaking form. I am pretty sure before the internet age that this Styblow fucker was busted in early 80s too, I imagine.

RGR 4-78

Graduated High School in 1975.

So it looks to me he would have been somwhere in the neighborhood of 13 years old in 1969.

Now that’s a bad ass Fighter Jock, I’m telling ya.

EdUSMCLeg

Disregard… Just saw Scotty already posted it on his page lol

Whom

Anyone else notice that on the top vetfriends link his grade is listed as an O-7 Even his false “records” only have him as an O-3 at separation. Guess that you continue to “earn” grade after you get out.

Guess that means that I am at least a E-14 now, maybe even an E-15.

Can anyone help me with how you figure that out. I would not want to claim the wrong rank. Just to be safe I will call myself an E-13.

USAF(Ret), E-13

MGySgtRet.

Is that form he used to list all of his accomplishments the new version of the DD-214?? Very impressive. Whoever let this clown into the VFW without a no shit DD-214 should have his ass kicked. Another reason why I give the VFW a wide berth.

I’d like to see that Special Forces Award Ribbon. I don’t have one of those 😉
Also, I bet performing an Air Assault insertion from an F-100 and an F-111 was interesting. And damn, 1000 parachute jumps.. busy little bastard now wasn’t he?

Sparks

nbcguy54 You and I both. I never saw a “Special Forces Award Ribbon”. It would make my day to find a photo of him sporting something he calls that. Would have to be hand made from a few other ribbons. Plus a 1000 jumps. Now first, I was not Airborne but 1000 jumps seems like a lot to me. Can any Airborne vet reading this tell me if you can achieve 1000 jumps of any kind in an Airborne career of usual length? Just very curious about it.

rb325th

I had 58 jumps in around 3 1/2 years and I jumped a lot.

ABNDVR

Static Line? No friggin way! I would be surprised to see simeone whos body could cope with 1000 sl jumps.

But, if you get AFF,Freefall,HALO qualified very early and sum up all those jumps plus the sl ones you might get to and over 1000 in lets say a 10-20yr career

A friend of mine asked me why these phonies get me so angry. It’s because of the mistrust these folks spread. The next time I’m asked to show an ID card at a veterans’ dog and pony show will not be the first and I’m tired of it.
If these phonies want to play dress up and hero, I recommend they attend comic conventions. There they can dress up as any kind of hero and be welcomed with open arms.

Military Officer, Reverend, PhD, POW, Pilot…

Dude is checking all of the blocks.

He also looks like a ticklemonster.

3/17 Air Cav

Claiming to be a POW wasn’t Styblo’s first attempt at being a phony. Back in 1975 At the age of nineteen Stybo was charged with impersonating a police officer in Michigan.

There is always something else!
