Sam Samford; another fake SEAL

| November 13, 2012

Our buddy, Don Shipley, sends us this link to a news organization which does their homework on a supposed Navy SEAL, who happens to be a conservative radio personality in Jacksonville, FL. Apparently, this Sam Samford has been making claims to being a SEAL on his radio program, so the local news decided to check his creds;

An Action News viewer led us to radio clips of Samford’s show. He was asked if he was a Navy Seal and replied “yes.” He was also asked by a caller if he saw “action” while on military duty.

“Grenada was the first time,” Samford said on his show. “Iran, when our planes crashed, first time there,” he said.

The trouble is, Samford is not a Navy Seal and never was.

Action News has the documents to prove it. We filed Freedom of Information Act requests with the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis, MO. They sent us documents that prove Samford did enter the Navy Reserves in 1978.

But that’s where the truth about Samford’s military career ends. Inside those same papers, we found an interesting piece of information. The papers say Samford’s naval career started on November 22, 1978 and ended on December 11, 1978.

He was in the Navy for just 19 days.

Of course, still clinging to the lies, he tells everyone that his records are classified. I wish someone would pay me a nickel for every time we hear that.

“We’re out there fighting for our country and you’re trying to attack me personally. Get a friggin’ life,” said Samford during his radio show.

Do you mean that we should “get a life” using your techniques, Sammy? I guess SOCNET has been on his ass for a while. Guardian of Valor busted him out in September.

Don writes;

I BLASTED this clown a few weeks ago. He does some online radio gig and claims to be a SEAL… He has been outed as a phony but must still be clinging. It’s bad enough that he’s claiming to be a SEAL, but he’s so damn homely that he even gives phony SEALs a bad rap…

19 days? He must have enlisted under the REP, Rapid Enlistment Program. That is when you do such a bang up job, you manage to complete a four year career while in basic training. Not to be confused with AEP, the Accelerated Enlistment Program, when you fullfill your four year contract in under two years.

Twist

You must have some dirty pictures on the crew at the FOIA office to get these so fast.

@2, Nah…He just has them on speed dial, LOL

19 days in the Navy? Samford was so HSLD, even in Navy Boot, he was pulled out and sent right to BUD/S. Upon arrival, the instructors realized that they really had nothing to teach him and sent him on to the Operator’s course, which he managed to pass (With extra credit) in 12 hours. His records HAD to be classified because if they weren’t, he would have had to be included in the SALT II talks as a Weapon of Mass Destruction. He is…the phoniest man in the world. His call sign was “TIGJAM” (Think I’m Great? Just Ask Me!)

Ben

And he’s holding a Newt sign. What a character.

The old “It’s classified” line. Whoa, that’s a kneeslapper!

LebbenB

@5 Because Cryer had superior hand-eye coordination from hours spent playing video games, obviously. Samford didn’t have the advantage that video games provided Cryer.

The Dude

What a surprise a conservative radio host lying about their service and or draft status.. Limbaugh, Hedgecock, Boortz just to name a few.. At least this guy served for 19 days.. He beat chicken shit hawk Hannity and Michael Savage who was too busy swimming with other naked men to have the time for military service..

Conservatives always seem to be willing to fight to the last drop of someone elses blood to perserve freedom..

Old Trooper

We better be careful or we will incur the rath of ThUnDeRlIpS and his 2 JiVe CrEw.

Hondo

Served 19 days, eh? Sounds like something “interesting” happened while he was at basic.

SEAL my ass.

AndyFMF

Ha! You mentioned Hedgecock. I had a run in with him and was so irritated with what he had to say that I looked up his military record…..not fit to serve due to acne.

Thejester

You would be surprised how many conservatives have served and are currently serving. I love partisan attitudes. It’s exactly what’s gonna fix this wreck of a country. I know all the liberals are great truth tellers. THE DUDE, let’s face it. All in and around politics seem to lie. It’s not conservative or liberal. It’s just that most liberals would rather claim they served in prison than in the military.

“Conservatives always seem to be willing to fight to the last drop of someone elses blood to perserve freedom..”

So what is your take on the 2008 Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates both having sons that are combat veterans in the War on Terror?

BCousins

Good job Jonn. The Fox News station in Jacksonville posted this article yesterday exposing this phony: http://www.actionnewsjax.com/content/topstories/story/Action-News-Investigates-Stolen-Valor/UN7apN3l30KYoMv9wIOByA.cspx?rss=1931
Here is the bottom line in the article: “No, I was never a Navy Seal. I am tired of the death threats coming to my house and I apologize to all the awesome veterans out there that have served our country,” said Sam Samford by phone Monday night. Samford recently pulled his online radio show and all archives online”.

Good call, Dude–conservatives must HATE to serve, which is why only 2/3-3/4 of military members (both officer and enlisted) identify themselves as Republican and/or conservatives.

Here’s the difference between right and left, Dude–we call out and punish our own when they transgress. The left lauds them, elevates them, and call them “heroes” for “speaking truth to power” when nothing could be further from the truth.

Amen, Sparky

I heard his shows before and he would change stories like flies on his “SEAL” days. How can you be in Iran and Grenada at the same time? Grenada was back in 1983 and that was 5 years after he spent 2 weeks in the Navy. This guy made a scam out of this and scammed Newt Gingrich as well. On Veterans Day weekend and then hear some 2 week soldier scamming the public. Our Veterans who really fought and died for our great country and then you have people like Sam Samford scamming trying to be a war hero.

Donald Everson

Bet he moves, keeps low profile for a year or so,and then when he thinks all if forgotten tries his crap again. Can’t change a liar like this.

Green Thumb

19 days in the Basic Training shit will do things to a man…

Turd.

NHSparky

I can imagine if he was doing Basic in Great Lakes, all those times he had to sing “Anchors Aweigh” while marching under the bridge, or if he was in San Diego, the planes taking off and giving him that ATSD (Airborne Traumatic Stress Disorder)…oh, it was hell, I tell ya.

“Over Macho Grande?”

“No, I don’t think I’ll ever get over Macho Grande.”

DaveO

So – the Navy version of the 1st Cav patch is the SEAL Trident.

Ever been a thread of some doofus stealing Coast Guard Valor?

The funny part about all of you talking about “conservatives”

1). Sammy is NOT a conservative. He is a nut case, lying, bigot.

2). It was a Conservative lady using the pseudo name “Sammy Rains” that heard Sammy’s bigotry, bias and his false Navy SEAL claims on his show.

She was the one that originally contacted SOCNET and contacted the Navy to get Sammy’s records under the freedom of information act. She was the one that finally contacted Jax News and turned over all of her information including the sound clips of his lies. Jax News then furthered her investigation and printed the story.

So Operation Eagle Claw wasn’t as real as Operation Urgent Fury? lol!!!
