Roy Antigua; phony…well…everything

| August 7, 2012

Tammy sends us a link to Bay News 9 which tells the tale of Roy Antigua, who portrayed himself as a CIA agent, a Coast Guard officer and law enforcement officer. When he was pulled over in his truck that was outfitted with flashing lights and siren, he tried to flash a phony Coast Guard ID card to extricate himself from his own mess;

Police say it wasn’t the first time Antigua tried to pass himself off as an officer with the Coast Guard. They say he wore it to a Memorial Day event this past May and even New Port Richey Police Chief James Steffens thought it was the real deal.

“He introduced himself to me as Lt. Commander Roy Antigua and asked questions about the event,” said Chief Steffens.

Now, while Antigua sits in Land O’ Lakes Jail, investigators are trying to piece together who he really is. They say alone, the props aren’t illegal. But how Antigua used them could be.

Why limit yourself to one fantasy when you have more money than brains and can afford all of the fantasies that live in your head. Good on you, Roy. Livin’ the dream…I hope you take this opportunity to commit to eventually becoming a prison guard, too. Or being the woman in your new role with your roommate.

Is this our first Coastie impersonator? Sweet!

Hondo

Kilo: I seem to remember one other, but I’m not positive about that.

Andy Kravetz

There was another but it is nice to see the USCG getting the love like the rest of the service branches. And I am trying to be funny. Trying.

Devtun

A Walter Mitty or modern day Frank Abagnale.

Yat Yas 1833

Just saw this on Fox news. What a douche! Shoot him in the face with a 106 “reckless rifle” and let’s go have a beer…it’s not too early, is it?!?

Green Thumb

Yet another turd. The bowl is filling up boys and girls.

RangerX

There is another story running where they mention he also had a large number of Boy Scout uniforms and a space suit with helmet.

Space Shuttle Door Gunner perhaps?

@3.

Every run across any Merchant Marine posers?

In the image, the (red, white and blue) thing that looks like a personalized vehicle license plate… does that plate have OPR8R as in a U.S. Navy SEAL Operator?

This Guy

Not 100% sure but here is his facebook page. He has it blocked to friends so there is no way for me to get in there and verify for sure but it is worth checking into. Will be interesting to see what type of stuff he has in there.

Long time reader, first time poster. Posing as a Coastie in Florida? If he had REAL chutzpah, he would’ve tried it in Oklahoma instead.

Post #9, I recall that big donor to Bill Clinton was interred in Arlington, being eligible as he was a Merchant Marine who’s ship was torpedoed in WWII. It took a few days before it was exposed that it was all a lie, and they yanked his dumb ass out of there. can’t recall the clowns name, though.

@14 M. Larry Lawrence was the Clinton donor.

Have we ever had a phony who claimed that he was Delta, but then decided to become a SEAL or vice versa? It just seems like that would be such a natural if you are going to double dip. You could claim that because you were Delta, no need to go through BUDS or vice versa.

Ex-PH2

Just once, I would truly like to see these impostors actually made to do the work that the REAL coasties do, in any weather (Alaska, Chicago) and any and all conditions. Just once.
I’d also like to see the self-described seals put into BUDS or the Marines basic RECON school. I’d really like to see what they’d do under live fire or trying to flip a zodiac in high surf.
Just a little wish on my part, nothing else.

The Russians were awarding medals to U.S. merchant mariners who served in the North Atlantic during World War II, and M. Larry Lawrence, never shy about promoting his own cause, wanted one. Unfortunately, he told his two friends wistfully at breakfast one day in November 1992, he was having trouble getting the Merchant Marine to provide proof of his service.
Rep. Lionel Van Deerlin (D-Calif.) and his former aide, Rudy Murillo, now remember that conversation with considerable anguish: “If he were fabricating his past,” Van Deerlin asked, “why would he have called attention to this?”

Yesterday, Lawrence’s body was disinterred from Arlington National Cemetery, the first step in bringing it back here, his home town, for reburial. While that may have ended the controversy over whether the late Democratic fund-raiser and ambassador had the right to be buried in Arlington, it leaves unresolved the question of why Lawrence might have lied about his wartime experience.

Met this guy at TMB airport a while back. He was giving flight instruction in a full CG uniform in a 152 to a teenager….wearing a Silver Star on his fruit salad. He’s a huge faker.
