Give him an inch….

Our favorite moron in the DADT discussion, Dan Choi, wote in the Huffington Post on Saturday;

I intend to rejoin the military and serve in any capacity I can be of best use. I intend to marry and have a family of my own. We are living in a truly historic moment where we can enjoy the rewards of our efforts. We stand on the shoulders of many who have come before us, from Air Force Technical Sergeant Leonard Matlovich to our present day heroes. We owe it to them to continue fighting. Our loudness does not distract but enhances the fight. Our direct action puts wind in the sails of lobbyists and political elites who do our bidding on the inside. We are one team with one goal: Equality in our lifetime. I do not intend to waver or retreat in pursuit of this new life purpose and mission, and neither should any American who loves justice.

Yeah, we don’t want you, Dan. Not because of what you put in who, but because you have no idea what military service is. You can’t behave like an officer – no officer I ever followed was ever chained to the White House fence. No officer I know was ever tempted to make demands of the President;

President Obama, you are not off the hook. The compromise bill passed today puts the moral imperative squarely on your desk. Sign an executive order instituting a full non-discrimination policy throughout the military. If you do not, if you drag your feet and politicize this with your theoretical calculations as you have these past two years, you will be guilty of abetting those who loudly proclaim homophobia from their platforms and pulpits. Provide them no shelter or safe haven. Institute justice now.

There’s no place for your antics in the military. You’re in the place you need to be now…among the civilian social justice warriors who bark at the moon making impossible demands like erasing some imagined bigotry. Dan Choi, if you think you were mistreated before wait until you meet your next platoon sergeant. And it will have nothing to do with your sexual orientation and everything to do with the fact that you have no leadership traits. It will have everything to do with the importance that you place on what’s in your pants rather than what’s in your head.

With his arrest record, he may not even be able to enlist.

PintoNag

And with his repeated nonsense, I don’t think “leadership” is going to factor in hugely in his next military role.
He’ll be lucky if they trust him to drive a truck.
Across post.

bman

He will sue to have his rank reinstated.

Don Carl

What happened to selfless service?

This is coded language. Let me interpret it for you.

“EO officer and NCO’s will now be required to police the personal opinions of soldiers. Anyone found believing or expressing a ‘homophobic’ belief–no matter how mildly phrased, no matter if it happens to be the soldier’s religious belief–wil face disciplanary action.”

The thought police are here.

Andy

Enlist vs. commission. Not sure the legalities involved with one losing a commission and then trying to enlist. But I am confident that a criminal record would endanger the chances of gaining a new commission.

AW1 Tim

He wants, like every leftist, to put Zampolits in the US Military. He’d also like them on every street corner.

Choi ought to remember that there was a time in the not-to-distant past when officers who acted like him were fragged. Some just met with unfortunate accidents while cleaning their weapons, slipped and fell off the fantail with nobody witnessing it, etc.

It has always been the case that when leadership fails, the soldiers will deal with the problem in their own fashion.

NHSparky

Not to mention as I’ve said that mental health “treatment” usually raises more than a few flags on the med floor at MEPS.

DaveA

Will the idiot even be able to pass the mental evaluations seeing as how he was recently involuntarily committed to a VA mental ward.

Ben

I am currently putting together a packet for a commission in the Air Force.

They ask LOTS of questions. About mental health, about medications, about criminal records.

So we know he’s been arrested. He’s also refused a lawful order (to shut up about his sexual activities). He was recently hospitalized for a nervous breakdown. And he’s now heavily medicated/sedated.

So, let me see…is this guy ready for military service?

Something tells me it won’t matter. I couldn’t join if I had those strikes against me, but he’s the posterboy for the homosexual agenda. They’ll take him back. Red carpet treatment.

OldCavLt

Choi=frag bait?

PintoNag

OldCavLt:
I doubt that will be necessary. Choi will collapse under his own lack of mental stability. This kind is eventually found sobbing under a desk.

ROS

He’ll be flagged a 3. He isn’t going back in.

Trent

I’m thinking Choi should re-up under an assumed name. Since he cut off his career earlier, I would suggest he use Hedwig.

At best, this guy has the mindset of PV2. How he made it through West Point is beyond me.

defendUSA

Great! The most visible freak of all. I think I will stage a protest to remove him under the UCMJ for conduct unbecoming of an officer.

I was listening to Hannity’s radio show earlier (some guy is subbing for him today) and they were talking about DADT. A caller asked about the 14,000 thrown out since 1993 due to not adhering to DADT. Apparently there are those who want back in and want back-pay and their previous rank.

I’d like to know why any of them would be let back in at all? They were thrown out for not adhering to military policy. So now that the policy is changed, the fact their broke policy before is forgiven? Why?

The only people I think would be able to make an argument to get back in would be those who might have been ‘outed’ by someone who had a grudge against them, but that they were otherwise good soldiers and followed DADT.

But I don’t see why anyone — whether Douchebag Choi or anyone else — should be allowed back into the military.

Unless… does anyone else who gets kicked out of the military for breaking the rules — adultery, not meeting PT standards, etc — get another chance to re-join? If so, then a 2nd chance here would be okay. But if the military does not give 2nd chances to anyone else who breaks rules, then there should be no 2nd chance here either.

But under no circumstances should anyone be given any back-pay or previous rank. They forfeited that when they broke the policy of DADT. They shouldn’t be rewarded now for past bad behavior, simply because we have now arbitrarily decided that behavior is no longer bad.

PintoNag

Michael in MI:

Can you say “reparations”? …because that is what this will quickly turn into. What lawyer will be able to resist, with the DoD budget just waiting to be plucked like ripe fruit?

Pat

Choi and others like him – if allowed back in – will be a protected class of soldiers. Give one a bad OER or NCOER at your peril.

Dave Thul

Choi wasn’t just arrested, he was also impersonating an officer in the photo above, taken after he was booted.

In the immortal words of the fictional Captain Miller from Saving Private Ryan, gripes go up the chain of command, not down. How Choi could ever tell a subordinate not to talk back to him, when he himself is publicly barking at his Commander in Chief, is beyond me.

Jacobite

Choi is not gonna make it back in. If I’m wrong I’ll gladly offer myself up to ridicule and derision, but I don’t see it happening without making a total mockery of good order and discipline, there’s way to much to dismiss with him.

Tman

John nailed it on the head.

He will most assuredly not have a good time in any unit he reports to, NOT for the most part (I assume) because of his sexual orientation, but because of his personality and need for constant media attention and grand standing.

Leadership is of many qualities, none of which this guy has exhibited.

melle1228

The way the PC military is going this idiot will be a General one day.

Stacy0311

Go read “Forever War” Joe Haldeman. That’s where we’re headed

Mr. Chips

AW1 Tim (#7), I had the same thought when I read Choi’s comments: he wants to establish zampolits in the US military. For those who don’t know what we’re talking about, zampolits were the “political officers” in the Soviet army. They were essentially outside of the chain of command and were there to enforce political hegemony within the officer corps & the ranks. In the book “The Hunt For Red October” the first action of the sub captain in the defection plot was to kill the zampolit.

Charles Moskos, the famous (and deceased) military sociologist, helped write DADT and studied its effects. I rememeber reading that he thought it notable that service members booted out under DADT were not evenly distributed racially or socio-economically; that is some groups were heavily over-represented. If I remember, he speculated that within certain populations there was less of a stigma at being ID’ed gay and that there probably was a significant chunk of people who self-reported, seeing it as an easy way to get out of the service without significant cost (no BCD, jail time, etc.)

jj

No one cares that Dan Choi has a case of teh gheys…It’s that he’s a bitch on top of everything else.

kenny

Michael in MI how many of the 14,000 used being a homosexual as an excuse to get out?

Jim

How does he intend to get married? How the hell will that work. He could marry in Mass but if he’s stationed at Bragg or elswhere, Nc doesn’t recognize gay marriage. The Fed’s have said nothing about allowing these people to marry.Where do these people think they are getting back in. If your a fat kid and get bounced, and then the Army changes the standard, you don’t get back in. They violated a reg that was on the books. The goddam brass in DC better stand up to the Left on this. The Dems got their cute little gay agenda passed, let this be the end of it.

I just turned 18 years of service today….I’m beyond pissed but not about to allow a vocal minority to demeen what I’ve done. This is bullshit. I can’t wait for the classes

Michael in MI

how many of the 14,000 used being a homosexual as an excuse to get out?
==========

I have no idea. That’s just the number being reported all over regarding how many have been booted due to violating DADT since its implementation in 1993.

He could marry in Mass but if he’s stationed at Bragg or elswhere, Nc doesn’t recognize gay marriage.
==========

Exactly. Which is why the LGBTs wanted DADT repeal, because it sets up this exact scenario. So then they can use this situation in the military to push for repeal of DOMA and creation of federally recognized “same-sex marriage”, or the redefinition of marriage to include same-sex couplings. No longer will they have to get the vote of the people. They can just say “our homosexual military couples can’t get marriage benefits. That’s not fair. So we must repeal DOMA… etc”. Give them credit. They knew they had progressives in charge in the military and they would fold, just like they do on every other PC issue (ie not going after obvious radical Muslims within their ranks and allowing them to then mass murder soldiers at Fort Hood. THEN, on top of that, say that if the military lost its “diversity”, that would be a worse result than those murdered soldiers. The LGBTs knew after that despicable statement that the military leadership was made up of a bunch of PC-ified pansies who would fold like a tent.).

That’s why this vote was so crucial. It is a stepping stone to the rest of their goals.

Doc Bailey

What exactly was this retard’s MOS? Did he ever get dirty, or face the thought of losing troops in combat? I think chances are had he had a troop do anyhting more than polish his medals, he would have “serious psychological harm” done to him.

Did NO one council him on what is and is NOT acceptable from an officer and a soldier?

Daniel

That’s it,

I can’t take it anymore; I saw the video of him getting his ring back from SEN Reid today.

He was in Dress Blues.

The adulation shown by the Democrats for someone that has a complete lack of care for any rules or regulations is criminal and shows a complete disrespect for everyone in the military.

If he does come back in, I hope to God that they counsel him immediately on political actions in uniform and fry his ass the minute he disobeys.
