Obama raises possibility of prosecution for torture

| April 21, 2009

After he said just days ago that CIA agents and interrogators for their “harsh” treatment of terrorists, out of the other side of his mouth comes the news that he would however chase down the folks who wrote the policy (AP link);

But the administration’s stance on Bush administration lawyers who actually wrote the memos approving these tactics has been less clear. “There are a host of very complicated issues involved,” Obama said.

The president took a question on this volatile subject for the first time since he ordered the release last week of top-secret Bush-era memos that gave the government’s first full accounting of the CIA’s use of simulated drowning and other harsh methods while questioning terror suspects.

Yeah, that “politicized” thing he’s always trying to avoid again. Well, who is driving this policy? Apparently, it’s that ironically-named Move On dot org;

Obama spoke as the liberal group moveon.org launched a campaign to gather signatures on petitions urging Holder to appoint a special prosecutor.

“On Thursday, President Obama released memos that describe, in horrific detail, the torture techniques authorized by the Bush administration. The memos make clear that top Bush officials didn’t just condone torture, they encouraged it,” the group said in an email to supporters.

“So far there’s been no accountability for the architects of Bush’s torture program—the top officials who justified keeping detainees awake for 11 days straight, water boarding them repeatedly, and forcing prisoners into coffin-like boxes with insects.

The “Bush torture program” like it was some sort of grant study.

Aside from the Geezers For Peace, I hate MoveOn.org more than any other leftist organization. They’re pompous creeps who are intentionally blind to inconvenient facts. Just a casual conversation would make a rational person like me want to punch a seventy-year old woman in the throat. (Let me be clear – I’ve never struck a woman in my entire life)

They were formed to urge that we “move on” from the Clinton scandals, yet they’re mired in their Bush Derangement Syndrome. These are the crackpots that Obama seeks to mollify by allowing specious investigations into this supposed torture. More money wasted, more divisiveness. All based on crap like the post I wrote this weekend about the “Raw Story” fact-stretching and the resulting Democratic Underground discussion about Bush the child raper and pornographer.

I guess Obama needs to stroke his lunatics.

UPDATED: Watching G-g-g-g-gibbs in the press brief; press asks Gibbs why the sudden shift in policy. Emanuel said Sunday that there would be no investigation – so what has changed since Sunday? Well, Dick Cheney said the administration should release all of the memos and MoveOn started a petition drive.

We Don’t What?…

……

Smorgasbord

This all goes along with my thought that Obama wants to be king, not president. He is doing all he can to tear down the USA. Remember how he bowed down to the Saudi king? That one gesture should convince the world that the king is Obama’s Godfather. You only bow down to those who you feel are over you.

Once Obama gives the USA over to other countries, I am guessing he thinks he will get to be king of part of it as his reward. It doesn’t take very much common sense to see that Obama is aligning himself with dictators and alienating our allies. Have you figured out yet who’s side Obama is on?
