‘He shot him four or five times’: Shopper shoots, kills armed robbery suspect in Greensboro
The suspect was shot by a customer in the store who had his own gun
Author: Terrence Jefferies, Ben Smart
GREENSBORO, N.C. — The terrifying armed robbery lasted less than a minute — ending when a customer pulled out their own gun and shot the suspect four to five times.According to the Greensboro Police Department, 18-year-old Malik Harris tried to rob at gunpoint the convenience store NC Tobacco on the morning of Feb. 29.
WFMY News 2 spoke exclusively with one of the owners of the family-owned business located on Summit Avenue.
“There were three or four customers in the store. And the guy came in and put the gun on all the customers, made everyone come [behind the counter] at gunpoint,” said Adil Khawaja.
While the store employees and customers were huddled behind the register, another unsuspecting person walked into the store.
“He grabbed her by the neck, brought her back [behind the counter] at gunpoint,” Khawaja said.
The situation took an unexpected turn when one of the customers took advantage of the distraction, pulling out their own gun and firing shots at the suspect.

Former cop jailed for 7 years for killing fellow officer in Russian roulette shooting
By Joshua Rhett Miller
A former St. Louis police officer pleaded guilty Friday in the shooting death of a fellow cop during a game of Russian roulette, according to a report.Nathaniel Hendren, 30, pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action for killing off-duty officer Katlyn Alix, 24, in January 2019. The pair had been playing a Russian Roulette-style game with a handgun in his apartment in Carondelet, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
As part of a plea deal with prosecutors, Hendren will serve seven years in prison for manslaughter, as well a three-year sentence for armed criminal action — to be served concurrently. The prison term is the maximum sentence he had faced, the newspaper reports.

At least the customer did well, and I’ll give props to the guard for doing his duty. The rest, WTF were they thinking?

Love the last comment from the clerk, “I wish it could have ended up differently,” said Khawaja. “Personally, I don’t want to see an 18 year old kid die. He didn’t even start his life yet. That was just a very, very poor decision in a state like North Carolina, where everyone has guns.”
This is what the kurrent klown krop of Democratic candidates don’t want to see.
“I wish it could have ended up differently,” said Khawaja. “Personally, I don’t want to see an 18 year old kid die. He didn’t even start his life yet. That was just a very, very poor decision by Malik Harris”.
Edited for accuracy.
“I wish it could have ended up differently,” said Khawaja. “Personally, I don’t want to see an 18 year old kid die. He didn’t even start his life yet. That was just a very, very poor decision by Malik Harris’ mom to birth this moron”.
there…FIFY
He started his life at 18 by holding up stores.
bad decisions and early DNA sweepstakes exit go together.
This is why we have Darwin awards…
At least in the first story, it was a “righteous” shooting, not like the typical customer-shoots-at-fleeing-shoplifter.
Four or five shots to the wanna-be bad guy? DRT? You are a “GO” at this station, no further range time needed.
My error. It was a DOT (perp died at the hospital), not a DRT. The rest still stands.
Keep shooting til the target is negated. Question for y’all. How do we tell a Hindu family owned business from a mooslem owned business? Seriously. All of the C Stores, motels, and most of the Dairy Queens are foreign owned. Saw a blurb awhile back that some of them are being used as sleeper cells. The article went poof and haven’t seen/been able to find since.
Union Point GA used to be a real nice quiet little country town between Atlanta and Athens. The trash has moved in from both ends. Shame that happened.
Wtf indeed. Lot unsaid/unpublished in the last story. Pretty little girl officer, but what’s a married officer doing in another guys apartment playing games at 0God30 in the morning. And how dahell did homeboy hurt hisself driving her to the hospital?
It is a cute little tack driver. Maybe if you had the .45 version you could drive railroad spikes.
My Mk III bull Barrel (in GM Blue) is indeed a tack driver, and at various times has been the primary flight trainer for new shooters, a viable contender in competition shooting, and fun plinker. Not my choice for personal defense, but I could put 10 rounds into a very small area if need be.
To paraphrase Rummy; “you go to self defense with the gun you have, not the gun you wish you had.”
10 rounds of 22 Magnum, center mass, should do the trick.
I know the Ruger Mark (*) shoot 22LR, but do they shoot 22WMR?
No.
Russian Roulette Cop Killer
Hendren (shooter) was in a relationship with Alix (deceased), who was married.
Hendren and a third cop, Riordan, were both on-duty at the time of the shooting, but instead of patrolling their assigned areas, they were “alleged” to have been drinking that night at Hendren’s apartment. Riordan was not charged.
apparently Riordan got to the IA folks first with his story and got the get out of jail free card…
No, you can’t play Russian Roulette with an auto…
Yes, you can.
Once.
When the outcome is always the same, it isn’t gambling. That’s why I avoid LVNV…
This continuing use by reporters of inconsistent pronouns just burns the crap out of me. What’s wrong with writing “his,” “her,” or “his/her”????? (Or “it” if it’s an alphabetized gender.)
Or, is the reporter just ignorant?
With apologies to Hanlon –
Never attribute to ignorance that which can be adequately explained by political correctness…but I digress.
That’s the “epicene they”. Been a part of our language for 700 years.
