Weekend Phony Soldier round-up

| April 12, 2009

Our friend, CJ Grisham, ran into what looks like another phony soldier, Ed Hart from the Alabama Geezers for Peace. He claims to be a Marine aviator from World War II, but I think he looks a little too young to have served in some of the battles he claimed to CJ. What really sets off alarm bells, though, is the way Hart reacts to discussions about CJ’s combat experience as the same reactions I got from Jim Goodnow (a Coast Guard veteran from 1959-1961 who never served in combat) and Ward Reilly (the Army Ranger who fought the Vietnam War from Augsburg, Germany).

Here’s a sample of the email exchange I had with Ward Reilly last week;

I would be the FIRST man out on the streets defending my home and my family, and I have more honor in my asshole than you have in your entire being.

In the same email that he wrote the above statement about his (shiver) asshole, he demonstrates how he’s superior to me;

The difference between me and you is that I attack policy, and you attack persons, which shows you are soarly [sic] lacking in character.

See, he doesn’t know me, but he attacks my honor – but only in regards to policy.

Speaking of email, Jesse MacBeth and I exchanged emails briefly, until he discovered that I was saying the same things about him on this blog that he was saying about himself in his videos. But until he severed our communications, he wrote (and I use the term “wrote” loosely) this explaining how his DD214 got forged and who was involved with it. Again this is Jesse MacBeth in his own “words”.

amadee braxton was the main person i was in contact with. i came to her saying i was a veteran to try and get money and help i was on the verge of being homeless. i sent them my dd214 they knew i dident go to iraq it said on my real dd214 that i gave her that i only did 44 days and my last station was a traing platoon in ft benning. we talked on the phone for several weeks. i guess she was feeling me out. she asked me if i had a criminal history. if i had a problem with lying. and stuff like that most of them were moral questions. then she wanted to meet me. so she came down to were i was at in lakewood washington at the time and we talkd in peson. she told me what she wanted me to do. lie on tv and be their sokes person. she said they would pay my rent and give me 500 a interview that i did. so i agreed. so told me they were gna alter my dd214. becuase peole were gna ask for verification that i was a vet. but my dd214 was gna be the last thing they would show anybody. some of the vets and people involved in ivaw worked for the v.a’s all over the united states. they used them to get me a v.a card and documents from the v.a stating. that i was in iraq were i was at and how long i was in the army. of course it all fit the story that amadee and the ivaw scripted for me. kelly doureghty and amiela held mock interviews with me. mike key helped talk me through alot of the questions they were gna ask. told me how to side step em. and the majority of the interviews were very restricted. since i was in the hot seat at the time. ivaw wrote all the questions the reporters could ask. and i responded according to what was scripted for me. they taught me how to fake ptsd. how to fake mental illness. pretty much how to sell their story. how to make it believable to the public. there is other stuff but that stuff is more extreme its just converstaion i had with some of the members and the elite core of combate vets they had in ivaw who were talking about being a “hit sqaud” funding for and by ivaw to take a more extreme way of protesting if u want to know more about those talks let me know

He mentions a Mike Key who coached him on his answers, and I can’t find a Mike Key. He might mean Jeff Key (but I doubt it since Jeff Key joined IVAW after MacBeth was outed), or some other combination of the names.

I seriously doubt the story about the “elite core of combate veterans” who plotted to form a “hit sqaud”. I’ve asked MacBeth three times for names and he failed to provide me with them. It seems to me that if there was a “hit sqaud”, MacBeth would have been their first target – he’s done more damage to the IVAW than anyone else on the planet.

I know from the accounts of other IVAW members that some of the Geezers for Peace do have connections at VA and help get them registered at VA. The name I hear most often in regards to this is Bill Perry – the same Bill Perry who admitted to me in this video that his testimony at Winter Soldier in 1971 was “bull shit”. It’d be great if someone could link Perry to MacBeth’s fraud.

In other phony soldier news, 1stCavRVN11B sent this thoroughly confusing article in the Army Times about a guy who may or may not have been a POW for a few minutes. Apparently, the VA removed his POW status and he admits now that he wasn’t a POW, but that doesn’t explain why he tried to get his Silver Star upgraded or why a few years ago he told a group of pre-schoolers that his three minutes of being captured turned into three months.

I remember it like it was yesterday, man. Our squad had formed up per the CO’s order and we were waiting on the battle to begin. Several of the guys were exchanging chow, a couple were chatting…the usual stuff before an impending furball. That’s when we starting getting moved around…mixed into other units. I was like “WTF, man!” but I had no sayso. Next thing I know, the horn goes off and we’re elbows and assholes headed toward the enemy. Bossman starts yelling orders…wants me and my crew to split off from the main column and defend some damn bunker, hopefully hold off the hordes of badguys in-bound while they take out the insurgent leaders. I’m like “fuck this shit! I ain’t dying for this!” and I hightail it into this small cave adjacent to our staging area. Things were quiet for a long time until I spotted this enemy soldier sneaking in…he was clearly looking for a place to hide too. I raised my hands, showing him my campfire and that I had no desire to hurt him, but he wasn’t having none of that. That dude cut loose on me like a whirlwind…I never saw what hit me. Next thing I know, I’m back at the starting area…our guys won the battle, I even got a medal, but I knew that I didn’t deserve none of the honor that they’d earned.
