Man accused of pointing gun at Babes employees
Wilfred Robinson was arrested August 3 after he was accused of pointing a gun at employees at Babes on North Davis Highway.

by Amanda Johnson
A Georgia man is accused of pointing a gun at employees of a Pensacola adult club after being thrown out.

Wilfred Randall Robinson, 29, was arrested Saturday, August 3 by the Pensacola Police Department (PPD).

According to the arrest report, Robinson had become “belligerent” with dancers inside Babes on North Davis Highway.

The report says he had to be physically removed from the club after refusing to leave, and tried to fight security staff in the parking lot. The document says an employee punched Robinson in self-defense in the altercation. A patron of the club also put Robinson in a choke hold before he was escorted to a vehicle, according to the report.

The report says two employees walked outside as Robinson was approaching the building again, and Robinson pointed a gun at them. The men went back inside, and called 911.

Robinson was then arrested. The report says he was too intoxicated to give PPD officers a statement.

Update! Virginia Beach 7-Eleven self-defense case remains complicated

By Claire Colby and Robyn Sidersky
After a man shot two armed and masked men robbing a 7-Eleven in Virginia Beach on July 25, killing one and injuring the other, some hailed him as a hero.

But others were quick to point out that he killed someone and said he should face consequences.

“Nobody is going to shoot a gun at me and get away with it,” the man said that night, according to a witness.

It raises a question many are considering at a time when active shootings are happening more frequently: Should bystanders get involved if there’s a threat? And if they do, where do they stand, legally speaking?

In the Virginia Beach case, the commonwealth’s attorney will not press charges against the shooter. Two men, including the one who was shot and lived, are being charged in the robberies. Neither fired a gun that night.

The case is the latest piece in a long history of complicated legal issues surrounding firearms and self defense. Virginia doesn’t have a formal self defense law on the books. Instead, prosecutors look to a patchwork of case law.

The common thread in evaluating cases like this is reason, said Dana Shrad, executive director of the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police.

“If someone is just walking down your front sidewalk and you don’t like the looks of them, and you’re fearful and you shoot them, obviously you’re not protecting yourself,” she said. “You’re overreacting in an unreasonable fashion.”

From there, things get murkier. If there’s an intent to save someone else, lawyers will look at every action to see if the person took reasonable steps, Shrad said.

There isn’t a black and white answer, because it’s not a black and white question, she said.

Facebook argument escalates into Iowa City knife fight

by Brad Vidmar
IOWA CITY, Iowa — Two women are facing multiple charges after police say a Facebook argument ended in a knife fight last week.

According to a criminal complaint, on Friday, August 2nd, Euniece L. Aaron, 24, and Mercedes J. Hendrix, 25, both of Iowa City, “engaged in a verbal altercation on social media over a facebook post.”

Hendrix told police that her son was at Aaron’s apartment and Aaron told her to pick him up at Aaron’s Iowa City residence.

When Hendrix arrived, her and Aaron began arguing outside the apartment.

The complaint says that Aaron was holding a knife and started slashing Hendrix, sustaining three stab wounds to her left arm that required medical attention.

Aaron told police she’s 34 weeks pregnant and claimed she was kicked twice in the stomach by Hendrix.

Hendrix denied kicking Aaron and claimed she only pushed Aaron in self defense to prevent further injury.

Both Hendrix and Aaron were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.

“…not a black and white question.” In the VA case, clarify the law. In the other cases, it shows that blacks and whites can be equally stupid.

AW1Ed constantly showing gunz pr0n pics of large caliber hand cannons is proof that he lubs us Land Based Artillery troops and wants us to be happy.

Tallywhagger

That’s just ugly. Ugly like Pelosi. Might be Ok for pistol whipping one of those antifa freaks.

David

Ugly and feels weird to shoot since the barrel is in line with the bottom chamber. Controls a bit strange as well. Not gonna replace a K or L frame.

Some Guy

Beauty and the eye of the beholder, etc. I think it looks fuckin bad ass, although the 6″ version looks even better. IHMO it certainly has a unique, perhaps even iconic look, like the Desert Eagle or Dirty Harry’s Magnum .44, and supposedly it shoots very nicely.
But at $800-900 a pop, I don’t foresee myself getting one anytime soon.

Two bimbos are engaged in a bitch-slapping contest with knives, no less. and then we have a reporter whose grammatical skills are outstandingly F+ level in Mrs. Imhoff’s 2nd grade class.

Sister Mary Grace did not let her head explode this time…. Is it too early for a jot of calvados?

Ex-PH2

Shouldn’t the opening for the bullet to escape the barrel be up a little higher?

Graybeard

That’s what I understand – the barrel location is supposed to mitigate the muzzle-flip from the .357 Mag.

It’s ugly, but if it works…

Naaahh, I’ll stick to my P220.

I read a review on the Rhino when it first came out that the barrel being aligned with the bottom of the cylinder in the six o’clock position put the forces of the recoil straight down the arm and would most likely take a little time to get used to. This is like an I beam resting on top of a girder which forces the load down the girder and absorbing the forces of gravity/I beam down to the floor.
