Venezuela SU-30 Flanker-C

This almost seems like wishful thinking on Venezuela’s part: the US military will ‘get easily into Venezuela, but will have a hard time getting out’.

From the article: Diosdado Cabello, the Venezuelan socialist party vice president, on Saturday told leftist politicians and supporters gathered at the Sao Paulo Forum that U.S. Marines will “likely” enter Venezuela, Reuters reported.

“We are few, a small country, we are very humble, and here it is likely that the U.S. Marines enter. It is likely that they enter,” Cabello said, according to Reuters. “Their problem will be getting out of Venezuela.” – article

Assuming that this is how Madruo’s hacks respond to complaints about one of their Russian-made Venezuelan SU-30 Flankers shadowing an American EP-3 surveillance plane at too close a distance, it’s almost as though they want a fight, isn’t it?

The Trump administration considers Guaido to be the legitimate leader of Venezuela, not Maduro, who is as stubborn as you can get. This nonsense with Venezuela really won’t end until or unless Maduro croaks. And he’s not going to step down any time soon. He certainly has been invisible for a while now.

But to return to the subject: what makes Cabello think the US wants to invade Venezuela in the first place? Sounds very much like wishful thinking on his part.

“…it’s almost as though they want a fight, isn’t it?”

Bluster for local consumption. He blames the US for the dismal conditions in Venezuela to bolster his regime.

Nowadays they’re THAT fucked up little kid on the block always trying to pick a fight but nobody considers them even worthy of one, FUCK socialism!

Cptsmith

He is correct though. Look how many Venezuelans have a problem trying to get out of Venezuela.

And let’s not forget about the Venezuelan Military using force to keep aid OUT of their country as well.

Correct me if I’m wrong, you squidly swabbies, but couldn’t one (1) Carrier Group pretty much take on and blow hell out of any South American Military? As for this crowd, they’d surrender for a few rolls of Charmin, some bars of Irish Spring, and a pallet of MREs.

Yeah, they’d love an invasion, play the victim raciss card, get their infrastructure rebuilt by the American Taxpayer, and loot all the other foreign aid they’d get.

Wasn’t it Graybeard that posted once before how just a few decades ago, this country had one of the highest standards of living in SA, and the people were good folks? ‘pears like, again, it rotted from the top.

What API said!

I don’t know about any South American country, but a Carrier Battle Group being there, just over the horizon, has made some people very nervous.

Really? This asshat expects the US Marines to invade his poor, broke and broken little country?
This will be interesting to follow, if for nothing else than to see how the story shifts and changes as Diabolo Cabello DOESN’T get the invasion he expects.

The invasion he’ll get will be from his neighbors, Brazil and Colombia, who have been getting tired of Manuro’s bullshit (yes, that mis-spelling was intentional) and the influx of Venezuelan refugees surging across their borders. When that happens, the crowds won’t be chanting “Yanqui Go Home,” but “Russkies Go home!”

Sounds like the plot from “The Mouse That Roared,” a 1959 comedy that starred Peter Sellers. A tiny, bankrupt nation declares war on the United States, knowing they will lose, but anticipating that they will receive generous foreign aid from the U.S. in the aftermath.

That’s what their Soviet advisors were promising them.

Yup…

Got to admit, I love how there are people on Quora who try to blame the current economic woes of Venezuela on U.S. sanctions even though there are answers from actual Venezuelans that put the blame squarely on Venezuela itself. To me it’s right up there with people who blame the Jews for everything bad that happens. Sure it’s the evil US’s fault for everything bad that happens in the world. Honestly, I think we should just leave the rest of the world to the wolves as I am all out of sympathy (I kind of wonder if these are the same people who will then ask where the U.S. is when something does happen and the answer or at least my answer for that will be “doing what you pathetic know-it-all’s have always wanted. Staying out of it.”). Heck, I am beginning to wonder if we should have just left Europe to the Soviets years ago (please don’t jump on me on this but my annoyance with them grows every day and it mainly comes from chumps on the internet).

The Venezuelans are about to lose Citgo (just reported yesterday) to a Canadian firm who is owed about 1.4 Billion for having their assets seized when a mine was “nationalized” (and a Judge just approved the amount owed). If Citgo is seized in order to repay that company, the VZ military will not get any more dollars that Citgo profits are feeding them.

President Trump is the only person who can stop that from happening. Trump could use Citgo as leverage to force Maduro out (by telling the VZ government that the US actually recognizes that he will stop the seizing of Citgo only if Maduro steps down).

With the loss of Citgo regarding refining VZ oil and dollars needed by the VZ Military to continue to exist (and to bribe in Caracas), Maduro will quickly circle the drain.

And all of this essentially is done legally.
