Police: Teen robber shot by victim, accomplice charged with murder

Cameron Knight
A botched robbery this weekend left one teen dead and a second teen charged with murder – all while the robbery victim and police say the shooting was in self defense.

Around 5 a.m. Saturday, investigators say two 15-year-old boys tried to rob a woman at gunpoint in the 3600 block of Reading Road.

The victim drew her own firearm and shot at the teens, striking 15-year-old Jordan Lara. He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

The actual shooter, the victim of the robbery, is not facing any charges. However, the surviving teen is.

He appeared in court Friday on aggravated robbery and murder charges. He was calm and often looked back at his mother during his appearance before Magistrate Mary Schulcz.

His mother cried. She quietly said, “I know,” to her son as he shook his head “no” when the murder charge was being discussed.

Prosecutors said the teen also faced a probation violation for getting in trouble and skipping three days of school. He was on probation due to a prior charge of receiving stolen property, officials said.

Woman forced into her apartment by robbers before 3 people were shot, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A violent home invasion sent three people to the hospital. All of them are currently fighting for their lives, police say.

Police were called to the 2700 block of W. Barbara Circle for an armed robbery call around 3 a.m. Friday.

The victim told police she was sitting in her car when two men wearing masks broke her window and demanded everything she had. They then forced her out of the car and made her let them into her apartment, according to the police report obtained by FOX13.

They asked how many people were inside the apartment and she told them her children and their father were inside.

“If there is anybody else in the apartment we’re going to kill you,” the suspects told her.

Once they were inside, she ran into the back of the house where her family was already hiding.

Another man was waiting outside the door for the suspects. He then tried to fight them and wrestle the gun away from them. During the chaos, the victim was shot twice.

It’s unclear what his relationship is to the mother, father and kids.

But, he told police he believed the suspects had been shot as well because they dropped their guns and ran.

Minutes later, two other people who were shot showed up to Methodist North hospital.

They were later transported to Regional One hospital.

Top of the morning to all of my loyal miscreants. We’ll have fried ham and cat heads all around FIRST thing. Only time the oven part gets fired up.

Wow, 6 new openings in the choir. But it won’t be long til the Cincinnati perp is released to continue his career. Pop ups and survey question drove me away from being able to read the linky, but I can well imagine. sigh

“…and include all men capable of bearing arms.”
The Georgia Militia gave a good accounting of themselves during the Battles for Atlanta, Sunshine Church, Jonesborough, and Griswoldville. At Griswoldville, the oldest documented casualty killed was 72; the youngest, killed, was 14. There are some reports that the youngest wounded was 8. My GG Grandfather was in his late 40s when wounded in that fight.

Ol’ Abe hisself was a militiaman. Hell, back yonder, everybody was. Well, except for their version of a snowflake.
