Sheriff: Unicoi County shooting appears to case of self-defense

UNICOI COUNTY, Tenn. — The investigation continues but Unicoi County Sheriff Mike Hensley said Saturday night’s shooting death appears to be a case of self-defense.

Hensley says 49-year-old Larry Junior Morton was shot and killed at a home on Simerly Creek Road.

He says evidence indicates that Morton was in a dispute with his neighbor on Simerly Creek, went armed to his neighbor’s home, became threatening and the neighbor shot him.

Prosecutor: Homeowner justified in fatally shooting Lansing man during attempted burglary

Kara Berg
SEBEWA TWP. — A 69-year-old Ionia County homeowner who fatally shot a Lansing man will not be charged with the man’s death, prosecutors say.

Justin Eddy, 40, was shot and killed during a reported attempted home burglary in Sebewa Township, near Portland, in early January.

Ionia County Prosecutor Kyle Butler ruled Monday that the homeowner acted in self-defense when he shot Eddy, and chose not to issue charges.

Detroit police: Woman shot, killed after trying to run over another woman with car

I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them. — George Mason, during Virginia’s Convention to Ratify the Constitution (1788)

By Kayla Clarke

DETROIT – A woman was shot and killed after allegedly trying to use her PT Cruiser as a weapon to hit another woman who was in the street, according to witnesses.

Police said the shooting happened Monday night on Fordham and Hayes streets on Detroit’s east side.

The woman who was in the street is a 37-year-old CPL holder and fired at the vehicle, killing the 47-year-old driver.

Witnesses said the 47-year-old woman was a waitress at a nearby Coney Island and had just gotten off work Monday evening when the fight started.

A mid-week Trifecta, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. Not much more to say about that.

Some writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins … Society is in every state a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one. — THOMAS PAINE

Nice “side by two”

I was trying to come up with a name for the neo Nazi group on the other thread. I googled “Frankenwaffen” and came up with a recent FGS.

Yeah Buddy, with pecans and peanut butter, part of the All Star Breakfast. Side of country ham, with eggs, scrambled with cheese, hash browns scattered, covered and smothered or cheese grits.

Breakfast on me boys and girls, a mid week trifecta pays off bigly.

And if we can’t have the waffles, then homemade buttermilk biscuits made with lard with BUTTER…or red-eye gravy made with Coca Cola…and if one does not have ham, then BACON…

The cat headed biscuits are a given, they stay on the menu. When we say “biscuits with that”, it is a statement not a question.

The SIG M17 is featured in American Rifleman this month. Not replacing the M9 Beretta but now being issued.
The civilian P320 version should be showing up on FGS in the future. With a 21 rd mag the scores should improve but at the cost of more wasted warning shots.

‘Warning shots’ aka ‘misses’.

Note for the non-gunnutz: That Stoeger is a double barreled hammerless coach style shotgun that was primarily designed for Cowboy Action Shooting for those that like to shoot doubles instead of our beloved Model 1897 Winchester pump guns.

It’s called a “97” because that is how many things can go wrong with it at the match…
