Julian Assange Arrested, Removed from Embassy
After his remaining in the Ecuadorian Embassy for the past few years, Julian Assange is now in custody in London. He was arrested for violating U.K. bail conditions. It didn’t help that Ecuador withdrew Julian’s asylum status, paving the way for police officers to enter the embassy and to arrest him.
The headache doesn’t stop there for him. The U.S. charged Julian Assange with conspiracy to commit computer hacking. So, after being arrested for violating his bail conditions, he was arrested again based on an extradition warrant.
A British judge is giving the U.S. until June 12 to present justifications for extraditing Julian Assange to the United States to stand trial.
As you guys have read, Chelsea Manning refused to testify in a grand jury investigating Julian Assange’s organization. This resulted in Chelsea’s spending additional time in the grey bar hotel, where he has plenty of time to think about his actions.
From CNBC:
The indictment, filed under seal in the Eastern District of Virginia in March 2018, states that he and Manning worked together in 2010 to crack passwords on government computers and download reams of information with the intent of publishing them on WikiLeaks. Manning was jailed last month for refusing to testify to a grand jury investigating Assange’s document-sharing organization.
Ecuador justified their decision, to withdraw Assange’s asylum, on his violations to international conventions as well as on his violations to daily-life protocols.
You can read more here, as well as on the indictment.

He looks like a Hobbit being dragged from his hole.
Thanks, was trying to find a picture/video. He looks a lot like Saddam did coming out of his spider hole.
Looks like a flying superman grandpa
And this happened just as the image of a real black hole was released to the public.
There are no coincidences, you know. I don’t believe in coincidences at all.
Black holes exist and one has been photographed. Assange has been arrested. No coincidence.
So, are you saying the photo of the black hole caused Assange to be arrested, or vicey versa? I am thinking that the indictment of Avanatti is more likely related to black holes cuz he is going to have problems with his holes when he gets to the PITA federal lockup.
The release of the image of the black hole was ONLY allowed because the people who create black holes knew that he was going to be arrested and wanted to make sure that his escape to a different dimension, a dimension not only of sight but of sound, was completely blocked. They know what he really is, and they don’t want him back!!!
There are NO coincidences.
Next, you will be telling us you have info on Planet X (Nobiru).
There is a black hole where my final ex wife’s heart should have been.
No sound, no picture, no light on the screen.
……. should have located Nobiru by now, eh?
….. and what is he doing with Shrodinger’s cat?
No one knows, cuz no one knows whether that cat is even alive, but let’s hope it is not something akin to the “infamous crimes against nature.”
Nobiru is easy to find. It’s a cafe located at Mendoza 1627, Buenos Aires, Argentina C1428DJO. Here’s their Facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/nobiruizakayaba/
(smile)
The Planet X designation is for a gigantic library, built after the fall of the dinosaurs, orbiting somewhere out in the edges of the Oort Cloud, but within the bow shock that Voyager has already crossed. Its orbit is detectable, but because it is flat black instead of shiny, astronomers and physicists haven’t been able to find it.
It contains 2.5 million years’ worth of records and discoveries, and is managed by a holographic Librarian that looks oddly like John de Lancie as “Q”.
Thanks PH2, I knew you likely had the hot intel on that nefarious destroyer of worlds.
“I’m warning you, I am a lethal killing machine. It was a secret government experiment. They did stuff to me. Spooky stuff… Anal stuff. It turned me into a dangerous telekinetic. As the ancient Tibetan Philosophy states “Don’t start none, won’t be none!”
My wife and I do not own a microwave because the aliens zero in on those frequencies…no anal probes for us but if you other folks want to take the risk…
I just read the Ecuadorian embassy folks said he was losing it and smearing his shit all over the walls and not bathing. I bet they are glad to be rid of his ass.
It was my understanding, perhaps erroneous that at Manning’s court martial the texts between Assange and Manning never indicated that Manning was being enticed by Assange into committing crimes. Only that Assange was happy to take the information.
I am not certain the distinction between guys like Bob Woodward and Julian Assange is all that large.
Interestingly enough since Assange’s actions hurt Hillary there seems to be very little media coverage supporting Assange at the moment.
And if Trump was so thrilled with WikiLeaks in 2016 why he’s interested in pursuing this action now?
That’s always been my understanding as well. Though I’m admittedly not versed on the topic. I always saw Assange’s role as publisher not ringleader.
Manning was dating an Ivy Leaguer who used him as a patsy. There was a group of undergrads from Harvard, MIT, and Yale who came up with the plan. I think Manning joined the service because his boyfriend told him to. There was some chatter about it when the story first broke, but then the media went quiet on it.
Anyway these “children” had a plan to stop the War on Terror by undermining the US’s ability to fight it by crippling their intelligence capability. Assange told his staff and the journalists he worked with that he refused to conceal or redact sources in the intel they provided, dooming the informants and agents involved.
This was the biggest NATO intelligence leak and disruption since the Philby-McLean ring at MI6. After the leak the US lost the goodwill of their allies and had to build it back up again.
Assange is not a journalist. He’s an information broker with ties to the intelligence services of dictatorships like Russia and China and a bee in his bonnet about the United States. He and his followers get to cherry-pick who gets protected and who gets exposed. They don’t care what happens afterwards and they refuse to own blame for their actions.
So what makes Woodward a journalist? He has never proven to be non-biased in his reporting after Watergate.
My point is simply if Bob Woodward can receive classified information and publish a book without being prosecuted the government will be hard pressed to prove why Assange receiving classified information and releasing it on the internet is much different.
Whether we like it or not guys like Assange are very useful in providing the transparency into our government that a free people should expect. All this bullshit about secrecy for our safety is mostly that, bullshit. As it turns out we spy on our own people far more often than we spy on our enemies. I’m supposed to believe that my government is looking out for me on this with Assange?
Sorry, I’m not feeling it.
VOV: one of our lawyer commenters can correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe that receipt of classified information w/o authority is a Federal crime – it’s providing it to someone without authority to receive same that’s criminal. My take on the matter is that Assange might well be in the clear had he (1) received the info unsolicited from Manning and/or other sources, and (2) then published it.
However, I believe Assange is wanted on charges of conspiracy to violate the Computer Crimes Act (AKA “hacking”) relating to gaining unauthorized access to USG computer systems. That means he was apparently involved in some way in planning/organizing/supporting such a break-in. That’s definitely a criminal act under the US Code; the fact that the info in question was apparently classified is irrelevant. It would still be criminal (a felony, I believe) even if it were merely unclassified, routine USG data.
Hondo I thought at the Manning trial they had Manning’s texts and none of those purported to show that Assange conspired with or even enticed Manning to commit those acts.
With Manning dating and a dude and then doing the choppy peepee thing….does that now make him gay, or a lesbian? Asking for a friend…..
Hillary’s figuring out how to have him suicided.
As we all know, Trump does not control the Deep State. It was pursuing Assange long before Trump took the oath of office. If Trump can’t stop the Deep State from coming after him, how could he stop the prosecution of Assange, who was likely indicted by 0’s gang in the DOJ. Anyone want to take a bet on whether prosecutors who are fans of the Hildabeast wrote those sealed indictments?
I don’t know if I’m on either side of the fence on this or both, but I read an interesting comment on the Book of Face that made me go “Hmmmmm.”
” I wonder what his dead man switch is.”
He did imply early on that there was a hole card. Perhaps Vlad pried it from his hands during his time there.
I’ll take untimely deaths for a thousand Alex.
It was his ticket through the black hole. See the above video about a real black hole image being released. Now it’s gone! Gone, I tell you!!
His personal portal to another universe was shut off long ago, and the image of the black hole at the center of M87 proves it. He couldn’t get it restored.
Don’t believe me? Then why was Assange arrested shortly after that black hole image was released to the public???? Hah! No coincidences exist here!
He looks like an old hobo.
But the *really* important question is…….
” WHAT ABOUT THE CAT?!?!?!?!?!? ”
:d 😉
Cat is with friends.
Looks more like a certain deceased “Honorary CPO”, doesn’t he?
I guess he won’t be getting any more conjugal visits from Pamela Anderson for a while.
Huh, what happened to my other post…..because it’s *very* important….
“WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CAT?!?!?!”
The cat had already preceded Assange’s arrest by disappearing through the Black Hole.
Have you not read ‘The Cat Who Walks Through Walls?’ If not, read it.
Have you never met a cat that suddenly appeared out of nowhere?
You sure that’s not Schrodinger’s Cat? Both alive AND dead? Or is it Church, from Pet Semetery? I’m confused…..
Your comment was in Moderation Jail, Chip, and I don’t know why. It’s up now.
tell you what, if I had a house guest smear shit all over the walls, I wouldn’t call the cops, I would throw his ass out a second story window
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/8843073/julian-assange-was-arrested-after-smearing-poo-all-over-the-walls-of-ecuadorian-embassy-minister-reveals/
Keeping it classy. So he’s really gone full loco in appearance and actions.
There is literally no way we can believe anything coming out of Ecuador right now. They are in full propaganda and damage control mode.
Would you look at that, hell just hit zero degrees centigrade.
I agree with you.
More like zero degrees Kelvin…
Ecuador has had a recent change in government. The new president wants to break ties with Venezuela and get on America’s good side.
Wikileaks says they’re going to leak Ecuadorean documents to undermine the current government to punish them for letting their batty Glorious Leader get arrested.
I love WikiLeaks…..
Well, there goes YOUR clearance permanently, Commissar.
More professional threats from Ex. You are like a toothless Beaver. Never going to get anywhere but will just keep gumming away at it.
However, I see the problem you have with my post; I forgot to put the quotes and attribution…
“I love WikiLeaks”… -Donald J. Trump.
As usual, Poodle, you’re omitting pertinent details and context. It’s almost like you’re simply parroting talking points from the Party without bothering to look at context or intent.
The context and pertinent details you’re omitting? In 2016, Trump was referring to “loving” Wikileaks making public a ton of damaging DNC and Podesta campaign emails provided to Wikileaks by Russian hackers. Those emails were showing the world just how dirty and underhanded both the DNC and HRC campaigns really were.
Of course Trump was pleased to see dirt on HRC’s campaign and the DNC made public. It helped his campaign. I’m guessing his praise for Wikileaks dishing the dirt on his opponent during the 2016 Presidential campaign was simply another example of him “shooting from the hip” when talking to the press. He’s kinda known for that.
“As usual”.
Knock off the condescension. I honestly could care less why he said it and the context is largely irrelevant. The broader context was he was asking for a hostile foreign government intelligence service to hack an opponent and leak the information to WikiLeaks so the hostile foreign power could help him win an election because he was explicitly supportive of the hostile power and a fan-boi of that hostile power’s dictator.
Still waiting for your “non-partisan” annual updates regarding US taxpayers funding Trump family travel expenses.
Your last “update” was when Obama hit $96M during his eight years in office.
I thought for sure such a conscientious non-partisan purveyor of “facts” would have covered Trump hitting the $96m mark… not long after his first year.
Not being condescending at all, Poodle. If I’d wanted to be condescending, I’d have said something along the lines of “Well, as usual we have more poorly-thought-out, purile attempts at parroting the approved Berkely party line by Commissar Poodle, AKA Berkely-boi. One day perhaps he’ll actually have an original thought to share with us vice merely parroting Leftist talking points.” But I didn’t say that; I was fairly nice instead. The attempt to change the subject was also weak – as well as irrelevant. The subject under discussion isn’t travel; it’s your out-of-context quote from the POTUS. I was merely pointing out your omission of relevant context while also observing that doing so is hardly unusual behavior on your part. You did know that changing the subject is often the first tactic tried by someone with no counterargument, right? The rest of us here already knew that. Perhaps you didn’t. And before discussing Presidential travel, you first owe me a detailed answer to my question about Khrushchev and Kennedy from many months ago. I’m not holding my breath waiting for that, either. You also show your abject ignorance by making the statement above that you “honestly could care less why he said it and the context is largely irrelevant.” (direct quote) Context is ALWAYS important when discerning a speaker’s actual meaning. Consider the following hypothetical conversation: Commenter 1: “Wow, that Commissar guy is really on-target today, isn’t he?” Commenter 2: “Yeah. Right.” Do you really need me to explain in more detail why context matters after that example? And do you really want me to go through your comments here, find things to quote out-of-context, and string those quotes together to say something thoroughly unintended? I’m pretty sure I could find enough out-of-context direct quotes to make you appear to say some really interesting things if I thought doing so were worth my time. Then again, perhaps you’d be OK with that. Because you did say above that “context is largely irrelevant”. Presumably that means you’re OK with people quoting YOU out of context too. Logic, Poodle. You really should… Read more »
She’s an old tuna boat. Only good for gumming.
Oh, no, you can’t blame your stupidity on other people. There’s no takesies backsies on it.
You said it, Tootsiepie, so YOU OWN IT.
Lol, that is not how any of this works. Particularly clearances.
But have fun slurping away.
well, actually, it is. But in truth, liking wikileaks or not liking wikileaks isn’t really an issue. Some of what has been released on wikileaks was intensely funny and in the long term has made some of our jobs better because the flaws we all griped about got exposed and fixed. However, we should not lose sight of the fact that wikileaks is not a journalistic endeavor, but an ideological endeavor…oh wait…it is modern journalism. All of that said, it appears that for now, the US is focused not on the release of docs, but on work to break passwords and encryption systems on US DoS servers (among others). I agree with that. Reporting on information is not a criminal act (if SCOTUS is correct), but participating in criminal conspiracies to obtain information is a pretty clear unlawful practice. The open source on this guy is pretty tame and really just the few inches above the surface. The miles below the surface may never be revealed, but it is the real issue. All of that said, Assange probably is a pederast, and perhaps even a sexual assaulter. How that will play out is anyone’s guess at this point and there is some indications from past prosecutions that the US in particular will pull punches to protect its sources or assets. Like I said, not sure how that plays out in this case. In any case, Assange is not stupid and had to know this day would come. I personally take his claim that he has some form of dead man’s switch to be literal and we may be watching some pretty salacious information formerly not released become very public very fast. How the UK and US react will be the tell in the whole case. I think the smart move here is to downplay Assange and go for low hanging charges with minimal penalties and pretend there is nothing to see here, but both sides seem to hate him now that everyone realizes that it is probable that no one is safe from the information his group has–at least from… Read more »
If ASSange is extradited to a US detention facility while awaiting trial, will Chelsea Manning be allowed conjugal visits?
Ah jeez, sure hope that Assange has higher standards than that. But, ya’know… without his cat, he could get pretty lonesome. I’d rather seem him and Snowden as bunk mates.
Now, now, get it right. His name is ASSflange.
But, Assange is a hero to the libertarian movement!
Think of the man-children!
Say buh buh, Felicia. I’m wid 26L and Chip on this. Untimely death and look after the kitty.
The dead man switch files are being spread around with renewed vigor today.
Interestingly, these files are 80GB.
Speculation is that the password will be released within 24 hours.
Personally, I think he should wait until his extradition fight ends at least.
It always seemed strange to me he had anything they did not go ahead and publish. It is either a bluff with embarrassing crap that would not have any substantial effect or it is apocalyptic to the global financial system.
Rumor is Ecuador got a $200m IMF loan they were not otherwise eligible for in exchange for Assange’s release.
However, there is so much rumor, speculation, false stories, PR campaigns, posturing, and trolling going on it is unclear what is really the driving motives.
LOL…QFUSS…!!!
I suspect that is a play on “Q”. No I am not a follower or believer in Q.
Everything I wrote is literally from publicly available news sites and my own speculation about what is going on.
I consider Q followers dumber than Trump fans. And there is very little room for much more stupid when it comes to Trump fans.
We live in a golden age of peace and prosperity and you live in anger and fear. I truly do pity you.
As for Assange, I agree that mayhem may soon descend from his files. Or not. That is the thing with Assange. We never really know if he has anything of import or not.
As for the dead man switch files being spread… pretty much every Reddit or forum that discusses WikiLeaks, Underground Media, Assange, and a half dozen other topics have new posts with the links to the files.
Q is not the source of that.
Q is some basement dwelling troll conning a hive mind of morons.
Perhaps. Your Comrades had better hope that is the case because if Q is legitimate, it is another locus of moral panic to come.
I doubt it personally, but one thing I have learned over the past 2 years. Anything the “new left” disparages turns out to be correct and anything they champion turns out to be a lie wrapped in a lie.
Ok QFUSS…!!!
Great. So you’ve just admitted you’re on the same page as the redditards and 4chan.
God help us all.
AT least Dipstick is consistent. He has no real inside info, but he wants people to think he does, so he throws stuff out to the splatter line and we’re supposed to just smile and nod.
Yeah, okay.
However, there is so much rumor, speculation, false stories, PR campaigns, posturing, and trolling going on with the MSM and Democratic Party, it is unclear what is really the driving motives.
There, fixed it for ya
I think Ecuador milked it for all it was worth and kicked him to the curb. That is how it is supposed to go.
As much damage Assange has done by publishing classified information I hope all of this plays out to the favor of truth and justice.
I do not disagree with his logic and intent but I can not condone his methods. I understand that keeping governments in check is a messy business and my heart goes out to him and those he has hurt.
Interesting times we live in.
May Grace and Peace continually find you and your loved ones.
Assange spent every cent he got for his defense fund on a huge mansion in Belize. Innocent people rarely do that. He also never tried to stop or decry the hacktivists raiding Sweden’s IT infrastructure until they dropped the charges against him.
He doesn’t keep governments in check – he thinks he IS a government. He deserves everything he gets if he wants to play that game.
They have had a change in Administration in Ecuador…They were tired of footing the bill for him…
PVT Manning is a sideshow talking point.
What Ed shared about the previous administration’s surveillance programs that wasn’t pooblished is infinitely more important.
https://youtu.be/XiGwAvd5mvM
I’m amazed that folks are more concerned with Assange releasing and/or “conspiring” with someone to release documents, rather than being concerned with the content of those documents and what they show our government had(s) been doing.
That would include a good bit of the original WikiLeaks staff. Assange decided to just dump everything online without reviewing it. That included the identities of local civilians, and things like security procedures. These weren’t the sort of things that would have altered our understanding of what was going on. This was also during some of the worst phases of sectarian violence, but he refused to allow more than a weekend to go over it. That was impossible given the amount of data, and even his cofounders quit because of it.
And it looks like Sweden is going after him again too.
He probably just sent out 80GB files full of random numbers to drive the NSA/FBI/CIA cryppies up the wall. 🙂
Where Julian A screwed up, was in ASSISTING or PARTICIPATING in [deadname] Manning’s attempted illegal computer access to SIPR-Net. That crossed the line between “Journalist” and “Hacker”. BIG MISTAKE.
Did he ever publish anything seroiusly damaging or embarrassing about Russia or Putin?
No, cuz no one who wants to live will eff with Putin and his gangs of assassins. Just ask those he classified as traitors; oh, you can’t, as they are mostly dead. If Assange had done to Russia what he did to the US, he would have been dead and buried before most of the world knew who he was.
Or maybe he never received anything to publish?
