Indy woman shoots man, claims self-defense

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A 30-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot by a woman who claimed to be acting in self-defense.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened just before 1 a.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of Caroline Avenue, located on Indianapolis’s near northeast side.

Police said the incident is being investigated as a possible self-defense shooting, which stemmed from an alleged domestic dispute. The woman reportedly told police she was in fear for her life when she shot the man. She claims he had pointed a handgun at her during an argument, which prompted her to draw a gun of her own.

The man was transported to the hospital with at least one gunshot wound. He is listed as being in critical but stable condition.

“the man who lived there shot the man who busted down his door”

Short and to the point.

SgtBob

Exactly. A good piece of reporting. No alleged anything, no “gunshot victim.”

Outcast

1/2/0, Well there goes the trifecta of three trifectas in a row. If this is the second call to that residence for D/V, dummy should have expected possibly getting shot especially bringing a gun with him after all you probably taught her to shoot or knew she had experience with a gun. I-25 and hwy 24, not what I would call very upscale apartment complex area, goes to show though, even if it is not luxury complex they still are armed inside. Really, trying to rob a store in the deep south with a gun, come on, if you ever lived in the area for any time you ought to know most those good old boys know how to shoot, just surprised it wasn’t a 12 gauge with double 00 or slug as that is what most use to hunt due to laws there. Ok, breakfast of stale bean burrito and coffee and standing by as to get the winnings or let ride.

Outcast

Forgot, Mountain Lion spotted in back yard of residence of people in Elizabeth Co. Looks like they are moving out on the plains here. Bobcat was spotted at lake near here so it is going to start getting interesting this summer.

Another shoulda, coulda, woulda, had oughta been a 3/0/0!

Not sure how Ken Taylor teaches his self defence/shooting skilz class, but I was edumacated to draw, aim center mass, fire and keep firing till target was negated.

That little Hey Mikey is still one fugly little gun.

The grin for the day?……Hubba, hubba, hubba, even if she is yellar haired. Might even be willing to make her the next Mrs. 5/77 FA….but only if she can cook….and has been a female all her life…and don’t get headaches….and doesn’t turn out like the last one, becoming instead of the girl of my dreams, becoming my worst nightmare.

Watched a video of the Doubletap.
The guy had to use his fingernail to extract the .45 ACP brass.

Always wanted a SA revolver in .45 ACP that did not require moon clips for easy extraction.
The Ruger Convertable in .45 ACP/.45 LC is pretty close.

David

If you find a SA revolver that does require moon clips, loading/unloading will be slow… like ‘drop the cylinder’ slow.

The 230 gr ball ammo doesn’t expand the brass so much that they stick in the cylinder. I like to have the brass just fall out like emptying an ash tray.

I’m sittin on a pile of the stuff and the 1911A1 is a pain to load up mags where with a SA you just drop them in and hopefully just drop them out.
Besides, who doesn’t like to spin a cylinder just hear it click.

One can have the chambers polished, which improves extraction.

Clean-burning powders also help.

If the pressure is too low, blowback is excessive and the cases stick in the crud. Too high, and they tend to adhere to the chamber. Once can use soft brass, like Winchester, and get a good seal at moderate pressure.

Hondo

Try a “superthumb” for loading. They’re pretty cheap, and work great – especially when loading larger-capacity double-stack 9mm mags.

Outcast

Weird news cast here on ch 9, seems was car chase that ended in Denver and saw a recorded clip of area before dawn and looks like a body uncovered lying off to the side of police car, later live cam shot also shows the same thing in the day light. Would seem strange to just leave a body laying in the open for a period of time. As to blonde, even with the patriotic outfit still looks like would be expensive, oh well such are dreams made. Looks like some type of Gatling gun design, mini’s we had on our old girls didn’t have a ring around end, some type of flash suppression ????

What is that young lady standing next to a vacuum cleaner? She does not really like the domestic type. (nor is it likely she is young…. anymore lol)

11B-Mailclerk

That is a street sweeper. It would be a bit much if used as a room broom.

Hmmm.

Belt fed six barrel 12 gage.

Hmmmm

The paperwork would be … significant. The bragging rights … epic.

Elmer Fudd seen grinning maniacally …
