Two taken to hospital after shooting outside Mansfield

MANSFIELD — Two people were taken to the hospital after a shooting at an apartment on Hickory Lane just outside Mansfield late Friday, according to police records.The Richland County Sheriff’s Office was called about 10:45 p.m. Friday to an apartment at 1293 Hickory Lane on a report of a shooting, according to police reports obtained by the News Journal.
According to the incident report, Stephanie M. Booth, 36, told deputies that she shot Kristopher J. Zahniser, 25, in self-defense after she says he assaulted her.
The incident report lists the apartment as the address for both Booth and Zahniser.
The deputy who arrived first on scene noted that Booth appeared to have been beaten and had blood “all over her face,” according to the report.
Zahniser suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, according to the report.

A security guard-involved shooting outside of Sunshine Flea Market leaves one man dead

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. —Saturday evening, Sunshine Flea Market on South Military Trail in West Palm Beach was blocked off with yellow crime tape.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office confirmed there was an altercation between two individuals that resulted in a man being shot in the torso before being transported to a local
Bystanders watched as Palm Beach County Fire rescue worked against the clock. Trisha Prehay was inside the flea market shopping.
“We heard the gun go off three times and we heard the people scream and everyone went scrambling.” Prehay said.
Paramedics transported the man from the ambulance to the Trauma Hawk.
Prehay said moments before she overheard a man at a nearby restaurant arguing with the security guard after he was asked to take his drink inside.
“The guy was beating up on the security guard so the security guard had to draw his weapon to defend himself.” Prehay said.

Albany police: Attempted burglary turns fatal

ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A man is dead after an attempted home burglary turned into a fatal shooting Saturday night, according tot he Albany Police Department (APD).Police said officers responded to the 500 block of Jordan Street after a man was shot and killed just before 9 p.m.
According to APD, when they arrived they found Jamie Lee Lewis, 41, fatally shot and now the resident, David McDuffie, 65, is being detained.
McDuffie told police when he arrived home, he noticed an unknown person acting strangely across the street in a field, according to a release.
He unlocked his gate, pulled his car into his driveway, and noticed Lewis moving closer to his property.

The flea market security guard might have been well served with a call to 911 and perhaps a stun gun.
Palm Beach, Flea Market, probably older/retired person working part time as security guard. Dirt Nap, more than likely younger person, intoxicated with small mentality and one who felt he did not like being told what and what not to do by anyone in position of authority, especially some one who is a lot older. Stun gun if effective would just put AH back on street in the near future. 911 most likely many minutes away, 3 holes, dirt nap justified, saves cops ammo and vast amounts of paperwork. Will wait for up date as to ages and circumstances.
I thought so to. While I’m all for self defense, gun rights/2nd amendment, and doing dumb shit is your own fault, it seems like this situation could have been defused without loss of life. I have seen some “bad-assed” security guards that had big egos and big mouths make situations bad or bad situations worse because they were part of the problem.
I wasn’t there, so I can’t say. I can only say it MAY NOT have had to end this way. Who knows!

Hell no! I have never been a security guard and tend to avoid restaurants that require armed guards.
There is only one villain in this story, based on information available.
Look up some background stories about that flea market and you may find some interesting history about gangs similar luminaries.
Two pair is usually a winning hand, ‘specially with a well endowed…er…armed yellar haird girl displaying her ….wares…er a well worn outfit. She appears to have all of her pieces and parts arranged in a satisfactory manner.
Dodged to funneled clouds at Firebase Magnolia, one about 2 &1/2 miles to the NW the other about 4 miles to the SE. Busted up mobile home and broken ankle 20 miles west….we were real lucky here in Central GA. The line crews have some job security for the next few days, lotsa trees down on the lines.
Prayers offered up for our neighbors in Alabama. They got hammered pretty hard. Numerous killed and wounded. To our Brothers and Sisters to the North and West, stay inside and warm for the next little while. Spring hasn’t quite sprung yet.

In regards to today’s Feel Good Poster Girl, I saw her twin one morning in the FOB Sharana DFAC…but it was winter and she was wearing a combat sweater (and yes, she had magnificent puppies). No idea who she worked for. My guess was that she was advance security for the Sweadish Bikini Volleyball Team. Although I remained aloof and unavailable, I will never forget the way she lusted after me while pretending to eat her breakfast.
