Security guard shot, killed man in apartment parking lot

By: Meaghan M. McDermott
Rochester Police have identified the man shot and killed Tuesday night in the parking lot of the Cedarwood Towers Apartment complex as 26-year-old Bradley Thomas, a tenant of the building.

According to police, Thomas was involved in a scuffle with an on-duty security guard at the East Main Street complex around 9:30 p.m.

Thomas, police said, was threatening other residents in the lobby of the building when the security guard intervened. The altercation spilled into the parking lot and escalated into a physical confrontation.

Thieves attacked man outside Red Lobster before deadly shootout with officer

By: Darryn Moore , Tom Jones
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. – Police say a group of thieves was so bold that they attacked a man outside a DeKalb County restaurant and then opened fire on an off-duty officer Monday night.

The officer shot two of the suspects, wounding one and killing another, according to police. Two other men got away, police said.

Channel 2’s Tom Jones was in DeKalb County where a Clarkston police officer was working a part-time security detail Monday night at the Red Lobster on Candler Road.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the officer saw a man in the parking lot who had been robbed.

According to the GBI, the officer approached him to help, when four other men got into a car and started shooting at the officer and victim as they drove away.

The officer shot at the men in the car, hitting two of them, police said. The gunmen sped off but stopped at a Wendy’s down the street where two of them took off running. Police are still searching for them.

The two other men were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where police said one of them died.

That man’s family identified him as Darion Jones.

They told Channel 2’s Tom Jones he was not a robber and that they do not believe the officer’s version of what happened.

On Thursday, the GBI identified Jones as being 26 years old. They said the other person involved in the shooting is Qasim Abdullah, 20, who remains in the hospital.

“They told Channel 2’s Tom Jones he was not a robber and that they do not believe the officer’s version of what happened.”

Of course he didn’t. Why he was just minding his own business when that cop shot him because… RACISM!!! I’m sure a check with a lot of zeros on it will make it all better though.

Dekalb County, put on your shocked face and throat clutch your pearls. Not to worry Lawer Stacey A will be on this most quickly. One dead and one in hospital, that’s 20 votes at stake.

2/2/2/ is still a pleasing score and there is always the possibility of infectious scabbies in the hospital. The two in the wind?; Well, they will show up again.

These winnings will take a little of the sting out of losing the Coveted 3 pete for the Friday Weekend Open Thread FIRST. Again, my congratulations to Brother VOV.

Man as I figure out here, you bet $2 they paid back $4, deduct the $2 you probably borrowed from Dave as you paid him back, $1.25 for the under the bottom shelf Irish coffee, $.50 for 5 of those quality cigars you smoke leaves you with $.25. you got more in your change pocket than I ever have, maybe I ought to see if you could float me a loan, wait 90% interest an hour is a little high. Never mind I’ll keep searching the ground for change.

I thinks the prudent thing to do is avoid any Red Lobster that needs a security guard.

NHSparky

Just avoid Red Lobsters in general, as the chain pretty much sucks.

Red Lobster needs a security guard? Jeez, where is it, the ghetto? And, yes, they suck

“placed a black and silver handgun on the counter, demanding all of the money”

The clerk then pulls the robbers head down on the gun and pounds the logo into his head.
Maybe. Shoulda.

CALL FOR SISTER MARY……
“Security guard shot, killed man in apartment parking lot”
So, was the security guard shot? And then managed to kill another man in the apartment parking lot?

Let me do a small rewrite…… (edit in all caps)
“Security guard shot AND killed A man in apartment parking lot.”

To all copy writers and editors: do you proofread the crap you waste ink, paper, and the reader’s time on, before you publish it?

Now where is Sister Mary’s heavy duty ruler? Some knuckles need serious rapping.

Damn you know you live in a shithole when red lobster has a shootout and security. The usual suspects too. The clerk and security guards need big bonuses.

I was a secret shopper for several years. Most were fast food places. There were a lot of fast food places that had only drive through after dark. They got tired of having armed, off duty police inside their restaurants, and they would STILL have problems. A few youts were killed inside one particular FF place. So, some FF places just locked the doors about 1800 and patrons had to use the drive through only. Problem solved. The youts had to assault each other outside.

Funny story, told to me by an acquaintance in law enforcement.

Setting: Pawn shop in a crappy Philly neighborhood, with Very, very old geezer working the counter.

Young and dumb comes in to rob the place. Sticks an el-cheapo .25 in geezer’s face and shouts “ gimme da money!”

Geezer scowls at gun, and in a blur of motion snatches the gun right out of dummy’s hand. He clears it, checks the bore, puts it down and says “ten bucks”.

Dummy blinks, pauses, and says “okay”.

Geezer pays. Dummy departs. Geezer stashes pistol in the cash drawer. Goes back to sitting quietly

Plainclothes cop in pawnshop says “what just happened?” Geezer shrugs and continues sitting quietly.

No one subsequently messes with that shop or geezer for a very long time.
