PD: Armed robber shot by clerk after hitting 3 stores in Phoenix; accomplice sought

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) ? The Phoenix police are investigating a series of armed robberies that left one victim and one suspect hurt early Monday morning.
Police say a man and a teen boy attempted to rob a 7-Eleven near Seventh Avenue and Indian School Road just before 2 a.m.
They say the clerk foiled the attempt after shooting the man. With his accomplice wounded, the teen suspect fled the scene, police said.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the wounded suspect to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are still searching for the teen suspect.
Investigators believe the pair also hit two other stores before the shooting.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office: Man shoots suspected burglar in West Jacksonville

A West Jacksonville man told investigators he shot a burglar outside his home, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
It happened in broad daylight on Woodstock Avenue.
Theresa Perkins said her 22-year-old son was the shooter.
“At first, I thought it was my son, that it had happened to him. But he was telling me somebody broke in and took his Xbox and my TV,” said Perkins. “He told me his name, said he knows him.”
JSO said the man who was shot reportedly broke in through a window.
“This woman tells me her son shot a burglar who was trying to steal their Xbox and TV. She says her son and the accused burglar know each other. #JSO investigating. Happened on Woodstock Ave in West #Jacksonville.” @ActionNewsJax
