Democrat Eric Swalwell: If Gun Owners Defy ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban, ‘The Government Has Nukes’

| November 17, 2018

come and take them
AWR Hawkins

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) defended a potential “assault weapons” buyback Friday afternoon, saying that if gun owners defy a legislative ban, “the government has nukes.”

The exchange began with conservative Twitter commentator Joe Biggs responding to a story on Swalwell’s Thursday op-ed in USA Today, titled “Ban assault weapons, buy them back, go after resisters.”

So basically @RepSwalwell wants a war. Because that’s what you would get. You’re outta your fucking mind if you think I’ll give up my rights and give the gov all the power.

Make no mistake, Democrats want to eradicate the Second Amendment, ban and seize all guns, and have all power rest with the state.

These people are dangerously obsessed with power.

Swalwell responded by noting the government’s nuclear arsenal, writing: “And it would be a short war my friend. The government has nukes. Too many of them. But they’re legit. I’m sure if we talked we could find common ground to protect our families and communities.”

Biggs responded by asking, “So our government would nuke its own country in order to take guns? Wow.”

Swalwell countered:

Don’t be so dramatic. You claiming you need a gun to protect yourself against the government is ludicrous. But you seem like a reasonable person. If an assault weapons ban happens, I’m sure you’ll follow law.

On May 21, 2018, Breitbart News reported that Swalwell pushed an “assault weapons” ban that would be based on buybacks with criminal charges for those who did not comply. A similar buyback was used by the Australia government with mixed results.

My first impression of laughing boy here was watching him destroyed on Tucker Carlson’s show. He’s a deep-dipped Progtard with delusions of higher office. “…I’m sure you’ll follow law.” Ask the estimated hundreds of thousands of instant criminals in New York State and elsewhere who have ignored the unconstitutional and arbitrary Assault Weapons bans.

Imagine the mutiny that would occur if a Federal Assault Weapons Ban in the image of Australia’s was instituted and enforced. Or if a nuclear launch was ordered on American soil.

The article in its entirity may be viewed at Breitbart News

Tip o’ the old chapeau to The Other Whitey for the reminder. Pic change goodness goes to 5th/77th FA, for pointing out the obvious. Thanks to you both.

I will turn in my guns when the last criminal in America has been hanged. Nd that includes politicians.

The Other Whitey

Swalwell can shut the fuck up as long as he has armed bodyguards.

11B-Mailclerk

Not even then

ArmyATC

Does Swalwell want a war? Because that’s how you start a war.

The Other Whitey

“Don’t be so dramatic. You claiming you need a gun to protect yourself against the government is ludicrous.”

Tell that to 120,000 Americans illegally and unconstitutionally stripped of their lawful property and forcibly incarcerated by the Federal government between 1942 and 1945 because they had Japanese blood.

Tell that to 200 unarmed women and kids of the Hunkpapa and Miniconju Sioux who were shot with service rifles and field artillery near Wounded Knee Creek, South Dakota on December 29, 1890 while they tried to run to safety, incidentally within a few minutes of their men agreeing to surrender their firearms to the government.

Want more examples?

If you’re a government official who doesn’t think citizens have the right to arms to defend themselves from their government, then you are the reason why we have that right.

MSG Eric

Tell that to the Soviets who went into Afghanistan and faced farmers and tribes and kicked their asses with mostly 18th century technology.

ArmyATC

Too damned bad there isn’t a thumbs up button for comments.

Forgetting his mug is like forgetting Alfred E. Newman’s. It just ain’t gonna happen. Sure enough, Jonn took this guy to task previously for the same stupid idea. Of course, at that time, there was no mention of the nuclear option.

“I’m sure you’ll follow the law.”

Why the fuck would I follow some “law” in contradiction to “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”? Why should I be expected to respect “the law” when these assswipes clearly do not?

Representative dickhead needs to be reminded that the government should live in fear of the citizenry, and not the reverse. If he doesn’t like it living in fear of us armed, no-nuke, peasants; he can get a real job.

Pricks like him actually make me look forward to TSHTF…Darwin’s hand will be obvious and prolific. Adios MF.

He’s from the Half Moon Bay area of California… he thinks that he IS the government and we should be wetting our pants because he is in charge.

Perry Gaskill

Actually, he’s from Dublin going back to middle school, and was on its city council briefly before running for Congress. Dublin is in Alameda County in the East Bay; Half Moon Bay is in San Mateo County on the coast south of San Francisco.

Swalwell’s wife apparently works for a hotel in Half Moon Bay.

rgr769

That would be a first for Swallowell; he has never had a real job.

Perry Gaskill

Bingo. Swalwell has apparently been a relentless political climber going back to when he was in student government at the University of Maryland. He has also sucked up to Nancy Pelosi enough to be appointed as vice-chair of a Democrat steering committee.

His next big political push is likely to be a run for President in 2020. It will be interesting to watch the brawl if he has to fight Kamala Harris for it.

Personally, I can’t imagine anybody wanting to vote for a guy who looks like Doug Neidermeyer in Animal House, but that’s probably less important than the fact Swalwell wants to nuke the 2nd Amendment.

Ex-PH2

I’m sure, Perry, that as ignorant as he is, he’d try to nuke the US Constitution.

Ex-PH2

Follow the law, huh? Gee, wouldn’t it be nice if this dimwitted sandwich fryer actually knew something – some small thing – about the law?

The states have the right reserved to them to make local laws. The US Government’s lawmaking stuff is reserved to national stuff. The US Constitution covers both GUN RIGHTS and rights reserved TO THE STATES.

The U.S. Constitution has seven articles: one each for the three branches of government, one about how the states relate to each other and to the federal government, one describing the amendment process, one establishing the Constitution as the supreme law of the land, and one describing how it would be ratified and take effect.

Therefore, in this swallowell’s blissful ignorance, he’s talking about violating a federal law (2nd amendment), and willfully ignoring the Amendments to the US Constitution, which is, as I mentioned, the Suprememe Law of the Land.

Do I have to write up an article on this business, so that this very ignorant ass has Federal laws versus state laws explained to him?

That must have been the part he slept through in junior high school. He’s not real bright, is he?

And since an attempt to pass a law dictating the seizure of guns (personal property) by the federal government (or, as shone in the attempt at Deerfield, IL, by a local entity) would be illegal, as it violates Federal law, he’s so full of fecal matter, his eyes could not BE more brown.

So how many times do we have to pound it into the empty heads of this bunch of twits before it sinks in: THEY DON’T OWN US!!

Mason

I think Swalwell is gearing up for a 2020 presidential run. He’s doing too many interviews and parroting the party line not to be.

So since he’s such a proselytizer for the Democratic Party, have no doubt that this is what they want. A flippant willingness to use nuclear weapons on his own citizens as a rebuke to a commenter saying he needs a gun to protect himself from the government. Oh the irony!

Combine this with his colleague in the senate, Kamala “ICE=KKK” Harris and I can see why they have to steal elections.

Andy11M

well, I remember reading somewhere that you need a min of a 2 yr running start if you are going to have a shot at running for President. Exploratory committee, getting donors lined up, then making the announcement. I’m sure by spring or summer, Time, Newsweek will have their preordained candidate on their covers with with a headline screaming they could be the next President. I’ve never heard of this tard before, but then again I had never heard of Barry until the press fell in love with him and decided for me that he would be President.

Mason

Yup. He fits the Manchurian Candidate profile of Obama and Bill Clinton. Reasonably good looking, smooth talking, and the DNC can work his mouth like a ventriloquist’s dummy.

Jus Bill

The Second Amendment was written to facilitate self defense against Swalwell and his ilk. That has not changed in more than two centuries. They want America unarmed and weak.

Bill R.

Well sort of. The Bill of Rights are also known as God Given, Natural, or Inherent Rights. They existed long before our Constitution. But they were codified in the Constitution because of a possible government run amok.

I hope the vast majority of military realizes the meaning of the oath and refuses to obey illegal orders which would have the effect of usurping that Constitution.

OWB

Wait, what? It was insensitive and a verbal no-no to use the word “nuke” not so very long ago. When did that change?

Oh. I forgot. He’s one of the elite and can do whatever as he dictates how the rest of us should form sentences, among other things.

NHSparky

Guess I’ll be a criminal then.

To quote the man, “So no more running. I aim to misbehave.”

The threat of using nuclear weapons against gun owners is like threatening to crap in one’s own pants, on a long flight, in retaliation against those who refuse to stop farting on these same flights. 🙄

Michael L Maynard

I did love that show and the movie that tied up all the loose ends. I suppose we could all do with a bit of Capt. Malcolm Reynolds’ attitude.

JacktheJarhead

Let’s be bad guys!

Sparks

This ass hat just made THE PERFECT case for the Second Amendment and its original intent.

That the people would not be denied the freedom to keep and bear arms as a deterrent to an overzealous government.

A government that would wrest civil liberties and freedoms from the people and becomes the same tyrannical oligarchy as the British crown had been to the colonialists.

When ill-informed, malevolent tyrants from the left, such as Swalwell declare their true intents as he has, the issue of our freedom under the Second Amendment just ratcheted up several notches. I expect a few of his like-minded, George Soros sock puppets will be coming out in support of him. Then it will quickly go silent as the DNC realizes they have elections to try to win in 2020. They will silence this true intent of theirs until after the election. Should they win the Senate and especially the White House, we are in for troubled times. Just my opinion folks.

NEC338x

He will raise his hand and swear to support and defend the Constitution, and be completely fine with lying because only he knows best.

ArmyATC

They aren’t waiting. The Dems haven’t even taken their seats on the House and they’re already pushing their draconian anti-gun legislation. Under the proposed legislation – laughably called the “3–D Firearms Prohibitions Act” – 80% receivers would be banned as well as lower parts kits for rifles such as the AR-15. Any “home made” firearm would be required to have a serial number. The serial number would be acquired from an FFL dealer who would be able to charge a fee for that service.

This guy sounds like dialog for a cheap movie where the villain’s henchman says something epically dumb while foreshadowing his own “first” on Hero’s list of spectacular retribution.

Kinda like Sully in Commando.

This guy absolutely does not understand “insurgency”, or how such things tend to go.

Modern history tends to omit some of the more creative ways Patriots expressed their displeasure with the King’s tax collectors and other annoyances. “tar and feathers” has lost all context, and the outright lynchings are seldom mentioned.

Insurrections are often … untidy.

Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail, and this dingleberry will be an obscure historical footnote, purged from Wikipedia as insufficient to retain.

11B-Mailclerk

Mainly by playing off the supers against each other.

They were not doing all that well against the Soviets until we solved their logistics issues and added Stingers to counter Soviet air. No doubt China and Russia are currently engaged in some discreet “payback” , probably by financing/paying-off the Mad Mullahs in Iran who then funnel stuff like high-tech EFP weapons to insurgents.

An old game.

Hey eric, swalwell this.

2/17 Air Cav

History, including modern history, is replete with instances of tyranny and of gov’ts killing their citizens and subjects in the name of order and under the shield of law. In our own country, “emergencies” have resulted in some horrific governmental actions. If a future US President and Congress decide that a decision of the Supreme Court will not be honored, that will be that. And that’s how I see all hell breaking loose here one day.

11B-Mailclerk

Once upon a time, SCOTUS told Jackson that the Cherokee could not be removed.

Jackson told the court to pound sand and the Cherokee to get going.

SCOTUS went along with the internment of Americans in WW2.

I think the Founders understood that the Constitution is a dead letter the moment the People are largely unarmed.

Ex-PH2

Isn’t his real name Swallowell? Another spoiled brat, one among many. He needs to hear ‘No’ often and loudly shouted at him.

Gee, just once it would be nice if these dingbat democraps would stop shoving the hair further up their anal orifices and trying to scare people. Is this because they live in a world of cloud songs and puffy salads where nothing ever affects them until it does?

It is obvious that his idea of the effect of a nuke is that it’s just a bigger bomb and doesn’t do all that much damage. But then, his notions of explosions are based on the size of the image on his tablet, not on what exists in the real world.

Let him rattle on. The more he runs his mouth, the more ridiculous he becomes.

rgr769

No, we added the “o” because he is clearly a swallower.

11B-Mailclerk

When you consider how quickly some folks “on our side” throw the rest of us under the bus, they certainly have reason to believe they can achieve their goals.

How many gun owners, supposedly “pro gun” are quite happy to say “but not -those- guns. No one needs -those-”

Not smart.

I -like- the folks that run ginormous .50s and buzz guns and make their own whatever. They are the Canaries. If they are safe, my Cowboy toys are safe.

Well, if I ever find those toys after that tragic canoe tipover… tsk…

5th/77th FA

Yep! And the pests that need controlling are dumbazz congress critters. Where in F do the people come from and what in the F are they thinking? I am….DAMN!

FatCircles0311

You just described the majority of people in here and their acceptance of bumpstock ban.

11B-Mailclerk

If I never see a bumpstock again, meh.

But I oppose -banning- them.

Once you concede to the other side the right to limit (infringe) you have conceded the whole thing, for they will always come up with another “good first step” in restricting what you conceded was merely a privilege.

It is a -right-. You can punish acts that violate the rights of others. But if we are discussing what is and is not legal to own, merely to have and safely to use, then it is no longer a -right-.

The opponents of the 2nd Amendment don’t give a damn about bump stocks, magazine round counts, or feeding mechanisms. The want you to surrender your unalienable -Right-. Once you submit to them, they will make their limits known and you, having submitted, will obey.

Lots of folks supposedly “on our side” say “oh, be reasonable” , meaning they agree you have no Right, just some mutually agreeable privilege. They most unwisely believe they can trade away some things they dislike for a securing of their own privilege.

Nice. Blue Falcon much?

Of course they don’t see it that way. They somehow have reasoned themselves wise compromisers, successful negotiators that never seem to notice that the negotiations are ever more restrictive, having conceded the one thing that would have won the argument.

-Right-

Not privilege.

Yes, that means we have to noisily and vigorously defend Bubba and his dumb-ass toys. As long as he is impacting the berm, not a problem.

Our Founders handed us Liberty, and the obligation to defend it. Don’t shirk.

OWB

Exactly.

The comparison I like to make is that I don’t like green cars but have never considered trying to ban them. Green cars are involved in fatal collisions but eliminating them would have little to no impact upon the number of people killed by automobiles next year.

ArmyATC

I agree. If Jim Bob and Billy Ray want to waste ammunition, that’s their business. I have no use for a ‘bump stock’ and never considered buying one. But I don’t want to see them banned. The last thing we need is unelected bureaucrats having the unconstitutional power to ban whatever they want. If it’s bump stocks today, what might it be tomorrow? Maybe a pinhead at the DoJ decides that pistol braces actually make an AR a SBR. It’s bad enough we have to fight elected officials.

David

A bumpstock makes very accurate weapons into very inaccurate weapons and make their owners waste ammo. I oppose both of those concepts.

The Other Whitey

But do you oppose a person’s right to implement those idiotic concepts at their own expense?

The Other Whitey

Bump stocks are retarded, but so are smart cars, Apple watches, at least half of all currently-available college majors, and Seth Rogen. None of those things should be banned, despite being retarded.

rgr769

I think most of us don’t “accept” the bumpstock ban. We just don’t care that much because it is a useless waste of money and ammunition. It is basically a gimmick that has no real utility from an effective firearm standpoint. And the claimed “ban” is just a sop to the anti-gunners.

ArmyATC

Perhaps. But we all know that the anti-gun bunch never stop at one item. They would use the bump stock ban as a springboard to ban other items they deem offensive such as pistol braces or, as they are trying with the latest legislation, 80% receivers and parts kits. Imagine the harm they could do if they think they have the power to bypass the legislative process by using unelected officials to do the work for them. Even though I personally have no use for bump stocks, I don’t want to see them banned, especially by a bureaucrat who shouldn’t be wielding that power.

Just some obvious questions, while you are all over-reacting to this little idiot bugger:

1 – Does he really think the military would follow HIS orders? (I don’t.)

2 – Isn’t it time someone took him to a real nuclear test site and gave him a front row seat, no optical protection, while one of them Big Nukes goes off?

3 – Isn’t it obvious that he doesn’t know anything about or understand the US Constitution? I’ll bet he thinks it’s SOOOO outdated that it should be burnt. But it’s like the Ten Commandments: simple, straightforward, and as clear as a bell, no hidden meanings.

He’s just running his mouth to get attention, so let’s do give it to him. You have to know your enemy if you’re going to win the fight.

Ret_25X

1 – never underestimate the willingness of military brass to kiss the ring of anyone in power. Yes, enough will obey to make this a problem.

2 – He would not care. It seems obvious he was being hyperbolic here. What is actually to be feared here and is undeniably harder to educate him on is that he construes the criminal behavior as being connected to law abiding citizens. This is a core element of leftist thought. Solzhenitsyn explained it better than I can, but in summary, the left sees criminals as being victims of oppression by us. Therefore, any action taken against us and in favor of them is a form of justice.

3 – The constitution is not part of their taxonomy of belief. If they can use it, fine, if not, fine also. He is in no way unique.

What should be clear to all by now is that these people consider the state to be the nation, the highest calling of the people of the nation, and the god to which we must all bow. This is why the left always ends at the gulag.

He is by no means “the” problem, but the fact that he sees no meaningful problems with asserting such underlying beliefs should absolutely scare the hell out everyone.

The Other Whitey

“Solzhenitsyn explained it better than I can, but in summary, the left sees criminals as being victims of oppression by us. Therefore, any action taken against us and in favor of them is a form of justice.”

That’s some seriously Orwellian shit right there, with a hint of Kafka. Scary.

Response to your #1 – Stalin executed the seniors offices of the Russian Army and buried them in mass graves. One of those graves was near St. Petersburg. I think it was something like 500, maybe have been more, but I’d have to look up the total numbers.

There may be a group of Os who’d see something as an opportunity to move up, but they’d be on the ‘shoot them all’ list until they were gone.

And the assumption is incorrect that the military would automatically obey illegal orders.

ArmyATC

I wish I could remember where I read it, but I saw a small article asking the rank and file members of the military if they would obey orders to confiscate firearms from and/or fire on American citizens. The majority said they would refuse to obey such orders. Those in the Special Operation community said they would probably join the citizens.

Joe Roberts

From an outsider’s point of view, if there is such a ban and someone decides to defy it, they’d probably do best to keep quiet about it. If they don’t, they’re asking for the cops to raid their property for which, sure enough, the cops won’t need a warrant. At least that’s how it goes here in Australia; the cops don’t have to get a warrant if the matter involves prohibited drugs or weapons.

A second Civil War? I can’t see it unless the Army was somehow involved because that’s more or less what happened last time. For a war to happen, much less succeed, there must be organization and leadership, and really, only those who are already serving as officers and non-coms can provide these things. Otherwise all that can happen are isolated acts of banditry such as occurred in the Old West. These and war, I’d respectfully suggest, are very different things.

rgr769

Since you Ozzies never had a civil war, I doubt you can envision how one could occur. But they had one in Romania a few years ago and it did not turn out well for the commies and their ilk.

Joe Roberts

As it happens, we almost did have one. I refer to the shearer’s strike in the 1890’s. Both sides were arming and drilling men, and if that had come to open warfare, well, considering both sides would have had access to Lee Metfords, capable of ten aimed shots or more a minute, it would have been rather a bloody affair.

By contrast your old smokepoles of 1861-65 could get off maybe three shots a minute, four as an absolute maximum, and that only in good weather.

I have seen some of the country where our possible Civil War might have been fought, and it resembles what you would call The Wilderness, only there’s tens of thousands of acres of it, square miles of it even.

You mention Romania, but that war had popular support, and was in a better cause than the one supported by your Confederacy. The Southern cause in 1861 also had popular support, mostly led by, as I understand it, Southern Democrats.

This party, founded by Andrew Jackson, supported firstly slavery, then secession, next the Confederacy, and after that, the Civil War and finally, Segregation. I sometimes wonder what modern Democrats support.

The Other Whitey

No offense, Joe, but the American Civil War featured some remarkably advanced small arms and heavy weapons. Cartridge weapons and repeaters were a lot more common than you realize. Breechloaders that could almost match a bolt gun’s rate of fire were a common sight as well. Even among muzzleloaders, 3 rounds per minute would not be considered impressive, thanks to paper cartridges, Minie ball projectiles, and other things like a spool on the side of a rifle that fed tape-linked percussion caps onto the priming nipple greatly sped up the process of reloading, especially under stress. Even among smoothbores, which were still a thing, buck & ball loads reloaded rapidly and were murderously effective. That’s before we get into the first machine guns, rapid-firing breachloading field pieces, and the like.

Combine these weapons with the Napoleonic tactics still in use in the 1860s, and it’s easy to see why casualties were so ghastly. The trench warfare that dominated the First World War was born in the mud of places like Petersburg, Virginia in 1864, fifty years before the Great War kicked off.

Be grateful that your nation hasn’t experienced a civil war. Ours is 150 years past, and the scars still run deep. I have walked the battlefields of Gettysburg and Antietam. Those are just two out of hundreds of places where Americans slaughtered eachother over political ideology. I pray to God it never happens again, but I fear that I will live to see it again.

5th/77th FA

Respectfully Joe; do more and better research. Got to go with T.O.W. and rgr769. What happened here in 1861-1865 was not a Civil War per se, more of a War Between the Politicians of the States. The Confederacy had no intention or desire to overthrow the US Government(sitting), which is usually the goal of a “Civil War”. We would be facing an assault of the “have nots” upon “the haves” Again, all of the problems being caused today in the USA are coming from politicians. The Average American does not want a war like has been going on all over the world forever. The best way for an oppressive government to clamp down with more control is to set the people against one another and take away the weapons. “For the good of all. we’ll protect you.” This is the rule book that tyrants and socialist all play from. Just as in 1861 when the average person did not want a war and it was forced upon them by politicians. 600,000 + Americans killed, and those are low estimates. The government cannot keep drugs, illegal immigrants, criminals, and mass murderers away from us. It will be up to individuals to protect what they have.

Knowing there were 22,720 total casualties in one day at Antietam (I had to look up the exact figure) and I believe something like 51,000 altogether at Gettysburg or 17,000 per day, I can say I am very grateful my country has not had a Civil War, and I certainly hope yours doesn’t have another one, TOW.

@5th/77th FA, the CSA may not have had the intention of overthrowing the US Government, and FWIW I’d say they’d have been satisfied to have gained their independence, for which reason the War was known as “The Second American Revolution,” but the US Government really wrecked the Confederacy and then, after Lincoln’s assassination, there was Reconstruction, about which the least said the soonest mended.

AW1Ed, I put this purely as an hypothetical question, but, with all due respect, if there were to be say, an insurrection or worse, would you not face a terrible dilemma if some of your colleagues not only failed to show up, but actively supported the other side, as that would make them your domestic enemies, would it not?

In case anyone was wondering, US history is kind of a hobby of mine.

Joe, you’re mistaking the behavior of a generation of spoiled brats for that of adults. There are consequences to thinking you can do whatever you like, just because you got elected or whatever.
It’s a false sense of nonexistent power on his part and a complete ignorance of the US Constitution, the 10th Amendment, which specifically says: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, not prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

The more people like this Swallwell person expose their real intentions to the light of day, the easier it is to keep track of them.

Maybe I better dive a little deeper, pull in my snorkel, do just enough turns to make steerage, and see if I can’t sneak between them pinging sonar buoys. Do not want one of them Marks dropped on me in a snake search pattern. Rigging for silent running Aye Aye Sir. We be afraid, we be very afraid. Nothing like an ASW Chopper zeroing in on a feathering periscope. (grin)

“I sometimes wonder what modern Democrats support.”

They support anything and everything that will increase their power over the nation. Even if it means backtracking and flip-flopping on previous claims.

The irony and hypocrisy of the left will never cease to amaze me.

Swallowell and his ilk demand that we follow the law while they pick and choose what they want to follow. The illegal immigration issue is a prime example with DACA and sanctuary cities.

Swallowell and the rest of the left want to, at the very least, ban semi-auto firearm. They want to force citizens to turn them in or face arrest and prosecution. The irony of sending men with guns – police officers they say profile, brutalize, and murder black citizens – to take guns from otherwise law-abiding citizens, flies right over their heads.

Miss Swallows wants to try a buyback program….again.
I guess because it has worked so well every time it’s been tried in the violent municipalities of this country.
Yes; people would bring in guns for cash. And then they’d go off and buy drugs, or liquor, or sex, or a better gun. Quite often they’d bring in guns that hadn’t been out of the attic in years, or were to fouled to fire.
And the crime rates in those cites went down like a rock…….NO THEY DIDN’T, the crime rates stayed the same.
Nope; if he wants to buy back the guns, he better be ready to pay at least 5 to 10 times the original RETAIL price.

Or they’d just buy some heavy duty cardboard tubing, put a switch on it, paint it Army green with serial numbers that mean nothing, and turn that in for the cash reward. And get pictures, too.

Gee, that’s never been tried before, has it?

The good, wholesome part of all of you wants to deny that we are in the preliminary stages of a political war that will likely only be resolved with the blood of patriots shed in the battle to destroy traitors to the Constitution.

But the hard, combat-seasoned side of so many of you who read here is tugging at your pants leg saying, “C’mon, wake up brother, these leftist assholes mean to damage, perhaps even destroy, you and yours, your way of life, and your chosen way of governance most assuredly. Given enough leeway, they may well see their way politically and justifiably clear to your total destruction, ultimately, your obliteration and annihilation.

Throughout modern history, the left has always found ways to liquidate those who most strongly opposed them. Hell, they have even found their cannibalistic way clear to destroy those who began their movement; Leftism, communism, whatever you choose to call it, essentially sprang from the minds of Russian, Jewish intellectuals only to be usurped by Stalin and his thuggish minions who then proceeded to purge all the Jews in party leadership, either killing them outright in the dark dungeons of Lublanka or exiling them to longer, colder, slower deaths in Siberia. They then used that supposed Jewish treachery as justification for murderous pogroms against all Russian Jews, whom they considered an intellectual threat, and they did it every bit as viciously as the Nazis.

Today, in the eyes of the left, those peasant Russian Jews are us, my friends, armed American patriots standing in their way with our belief in that 2d Amendment. They know full well that a totalitarian leftist government is impossible with an armed citizenry.

In the coming conflict to save America, to preserve her democratic republican form of government, I will wager that the strongest foreign ally of American constitutionalist patriots will be Israel. It sure as hell won’t be our so-called European allies, with perhaps the exception of Poland.

Never, ever surrender your guns, an act that will instantly change you from citizen to serf.

The thing which may just be our saving grace is that at its heart, what we have here is a war between the lawful and the lawless. Most folks may not be able to articulate the necessity of defending the republic, but they certainly do understand what is theirs, and will defend their stuff, that of their neighbors, and fight for what their families have built.

Most of us cannot tell you much about how an orderly society should operate but we know that anyone who comes after whatever we have accumulated is threatening us and ours. How we fit as a very small part of the republic really doesn’t matter. When lawful citizens individually defend what is theirs, the whole is protected.

All to say, what we are in is not so much a civil war but a fight to restore a lawful society.

^THIS^&^THAT^ Thanks Poe and OWB for stating so eloquently what we all feel, but can’t quite put into words. The Tree of Liberty my have to be watered with the Blood of Patriots and Tyrants. Let’s just make sure that there is more Tyrant Blood watering that Tree. Never Surrender Never Retreat
