The Fox News article below is a couple weeks old, but still has validity.
Democrats are leaning on divisive rhetoric and encouraging mob rule. Using mob rule to get what you want is not something new. Robespierre used it to his advantage to whip up the mob frenzy that sent Louis XIV and his ditzy wife Marie Antoinette to the guillotine. Unfortunately , it backfired on him and he was sent to the same fate by the Council that he had started. Mussolini was hung. Hitler blew his own brains out in his bunker. The Gang of Four in China were arrested, tried, and punished. Stalin’s iron grip on the USSR eroded with his death from a stroke. It went belly up in 1989. Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge thugs were routed by the Vietnamese Army after several murderous years, and Cambodia had a new government.
Unfortunately, it is not working well for the Democrats. Brett Kavanaugh did get voted into the bench of the Supreme Court. And Lindsey Graham finally found his feet and gave the Democrats what-for.
As Stuart Varney indicates in the article, so-called “activism” is more oriented toward mob behavior than anything else, and the Lefterd side of the fence has not displayed any interest in reducing the turmoil.
“I haven’t seen a single leading Democrat say, ‘Hey, tone this down, stop this mob rule, stop this confrontation,'” Varney said on “Fox & Friends” Monday. – article.
No, and you won’t. If this is a continuing trend, and not even one of the Democrats is saying ‘this is going too far’, then they are complicit. Period. It is a mistake on their part to think it works to their advantage to condone it by not speaking out against it.
There are anti-Trump op-ed pieces in the local newsrag all the time, with no acknowledgement at all that the economy has drastically improved since Trump took office. Nothing. They report the incredible financial deficit, as if none of Trump’s predecessors ever incurred debt. They want the “free health care for everyone” but no reference to who will pay for it, as if the cash to pay the bills just magically falls out of the sky. I could go on, but I want to keep this short.
I’m having some solace in watching this episode of “Pot Boiler Politics”, knowing that the midterms are only a few days away. It is more important than ever that you vote in every election, even if it’s a pain in the neck. The Venezuelan rule about voting is that you are only qualified to buy food if you have a voter ID card. And of course, the Soviet Union had only one party running, with a 99% turnout each time, so qualifying to buy food may have meant “Show your voter ID and ballot ticket”.
Stay tuned. The midterm vote is next Tuesday. I expect to see some turmoil, shouting, and more angst, even if it rains buckets. And I believe there will be some turmoil, somewhere.

Cornholio, I think that if you paid attention, most folks here rely much more on “facts” than “feels”. We know bullshit when someone is trying to feed it to us. We don’t tolerate being told what to think, and have no time for any politician or party that believes they know what’s best for us and expects willful blind obedience. No lemmings here.

I don’t vote one party or the the other, never have, never will. If my local Congress Rep critter is running, he’s a Democrat and I voted for HIM this last time because he’s been true to HIS word and has busted his butt for this district.
His opponent, a GOPer, clearly didn’t understand the US Consitution at all, and had nothing to say about taking Obamacare off the backs of the taxpayers.

Yes the girl Polish Soldiers were guaranteed to get our attention. And yes, a lot of us remember Lech Walesa. I guess the people who are held back in these Central American s—hole have never heard of him, or even Simon Bolivia or even Pancho Villa. Instead of a mob marching thru Mexico to assault our borders, why doesn’t the same mob march on their supposed leaders. Do we hope that dems learn from history and see that theirs is the wrong way, or let them continue on the path of self destruction? Either way, it can’t be good for the country. We talked about this the other day, how important it is and so on. I’ll be there Tuesday and will be spending most of the day exhorting folks to go. We have the early voting thing here, but now there has been some talk that early votes aren’t being tabulated. Who do we believe any more? I’m on medical leave from work a little longer so I’ve got time. Previously, at work, the guys would use lame excuses, even tho the Company allocated time during the work day to go and vote. We want informed and intelligent voters, but in too many cases we don’t see that. With only about 50% voting, and the counts so close, it usually boils down to only slightly more than 25% of the voters are happy with the result. Thanks for the post. Yup, nothing new, the Democrats pulled that stunt during the Reconstruction Period. Back then, it was against conservatives, including blacks… Newly freed Blacks turned to the Republican Party in droves. Same party, same tactics, different century.

Ever hear of a BLEVE? (Google/Youtube it. It’s worth it.) I have never seen one in person, but I have heard from several people that BLEVEs have a whistle/roar that builds, increasing in intensity and pitch. You watch thinking it can’t possibly get any more painful and shrill. And then – it blows.
I feel like I’m watching a BLEVE that’s still whistling.
Well, as you know, there is always a way to relieve the excessive pressure, sometimes by simply opening a valve here and there. You know: sending the stream of steam and pressure in a new direction.
Just don’t get any on yourself.

Hey, I have a question. What is it that the Democratic Socialists want to accomplish by being elected or re-elected next week? Their rhetoric is quite lively and aimed at Trump but what it is, substantively, that they say they want to do? (Sounds like a job for Cunthulu but anyone may answer.)
Not sure there is a single answer that applies to all of them.
Some of them simply see “public service” as another entitlement – great pay and benefits. Others are on gigantic ego trips. True believers constantly look for ways to create chaos on the way to the complete destruction of this country.
The overarching motivation seems to be the acquisition and maintenance of power The most sadistic of them just want to hurt people.
What I mean by the question is what is it that they are putting in front of voters to get votes? What are they selling, or is it “I hate Trump” and that’s it?
That seems to be about it. We will know next week how well that message sells, but it doesn’t seem to be resonating with those I know, even the lefties with whom I can still hold a somewhat civil conversation.

It’s either “I hate Trump and will do everything in my power to obstruct that racists, homophobe, Nazi.” or “Free stuff for everyone! Free healthcare is a right, free housing is a right, jobs are a right.”
Or a combination of the two.

Inasmuch as Poland is a nation and a nation is nothing without people, I am confident that we can furnish more than a few volunteers to engage in intercourse with the featured representatives of the Polish army.
