Brett Watson; phony Green Beret
Of course, he scrubbed his Facebook presence, but not soon enough. Yep, tattoos and a vest;
We see his units as:
Co. B 4th Bn 1st BCT Bnd USATCI, Ft Bragg N.C. (Basic Training) 1968
Co. C 7th Bn 3d AIT BDE Ft Gordon Ga, (AIT) 1969

Never did he complete or even attempt the SF Course which was called SFTG back in his era, Special Forces Training Group. He was not assigned to an SF Unit his entire time spent in the service.

Why oh why.
Revoke his Good Conduct Medal!
CIB and bronze star for service in Vietnam.
That is a heck of a lot to be proud of right there
Yep, until he took a steaming dump on his honorable service by lying and needlessly embellishing.
He fucketh himself greatly,
Went BALLS DEEP with his lies…
Another head banger. Why was it not enough?
it looks like he was surprised both by the camera flash as well as the fact that his top two buttons couldn’t handle the strain and just let go.
LOL. Should have spent some tattoo monies on tailoring.
If he was serious he would have a doorag, a dog, POW/MIA Patch, leather vest and thousand yard stare. Soldiers of his era would love to have a record such as his. For the life of me I don’t know why he had to add a damn thing. Well, crap, I just want to slap him around. Damn
Yeah, not many E5s get a Bronze Star, with or without a V device.
Turd
Idiot, moron, and jerkwad
Dipshit
Air Medal
— sigh —
Place “The Ballad of the Green Bidet” here.
Jeez. Legit Bronze Star and CIB, and SERGEANT in a time most people didn’t want to serve. What an asshole.
I didn’t know 2/508 was in VN. 1/508 went with the 3/82nd (ABN) (SEP). But, its on the FOIA and compared to the other stuff it is no big deal.
Curious about why 2 of his assignments listed have him filling an 11B4P slot. That’s an E-7 position. Pretty lofty for an E-5 to be holding an E-7 slot, but maybe it was because he was the “last man standing” during the post-Vietnam drawdown?
I wonder what the actual job title of those 11B4P slots was?
If it was Platoon Sergeant I’d be mighty impressed.
An E-5 in a PSG slot would mean that there were no qualified E-6’s to fill that slot and that’s just hard to believe.
It would make more sense if it was something like Re-up NCO, NBC NCO, Drug counseling NCO, Training NCO or some other non-leadership position.
Way back then the ‘4’ designated E5-E7.

I looked at that list. I did not know that there was a Shillelagh Repairman (27H) in any branch of the military. I have been enlightened.
But there IS/WAS a Personnel Specialist (71H), so perhaps there is some connection there?
Damn! The Marines just flew 3 birds over my house in formation! Late to the uptake, I am.
The Shillelagh was an optional guided missile weapons system on the M-551 Sheridan light tank.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M551_Sheridan
I saw a test of the Shillelagh at White Sands in late 67. It was fired from the main gun tube on an M-60. A .50 was used as a spotting round and the missile was launched. It did not accelerate after it left the tube. It did not leave a visible smoke trail. It was flash/bang at a range of about a thousand yards. Wiki claims a velocity of 1061 fps but it seemed a lot faster than that. 150 MM with a 15 lb warhead, nasty.
That would have been the short-lived M-60A2.

As I said, I have been enlightened.
My platoon sergeant at my first unit was some fuckboi, high drag E5 with 13 years of service. In some MOSs it is more common to have positions filled by unqualified individuals because there are less people to choose from.
Hi! I was a marine 0351 anti-tank man in Vietnam, with the 106 platoon. We were very low in personnel, and I filled the position of the platoon sergeant in my platoon as an E-5 because there were no higher ranking people available. I served with the First Battalion, Ninth Marines, known as the Walking Dead, with one of the highest casualty rates in Vietnam. We were very short of personnel. I had 3 1/3 years in the Corps when in Vietnam. After leading multiple patrols as a Corporal, and half a year experience, I was probably more qualified than some newby E-7 with no combat experience.
Either way, he had an actual record that other posers would love to steal, which makes it sad that he would embellish it.
Bronze star, jump wings and a CIB and he still has to fake his military service (shakes head.)
Airborne infantryman with a bronze star. You are right, that’s so much badassery that embellishment is unnecessary.
Decent record with a Viet of the Nam tour and that’s not good enough?
What the hell drives them to feel like they are lacking in their service? Something else going on in their life?
I wanna dope slap the guy but damn….WTF?
He sucketh the cock, and then he spitteth out the feathers.
Where the hell do they have to go to buy uniforms that size?
My 1SG during my second tour with 1ID was the only soldier I ever met that retained his green uniform while in country. He was so large they had to sew a center panel into his AG344 coat for it to fit. Despite his size he was a really good 1SG. At least he didn’t cower in a bunker like his predecessor.
Talk about uniform size, I was attending a flamable liquid course years ago up at West Point run by Florida Safety Systems Capt. Ron Gore. After the course we visited the Museam where they had display cases representing the Wars we were involved in. One case had a Herman Goerring Dummy wearing his huge and I mean huge class a uniform complete with his diamond/gold Baton.
He was a corpulent fellow. The only thing larger than his belt was his ego!
Little Dicked dopes like Brett Watson, phony need some love. I left him a message on his FAKEBOOK page:
“You are just too damned phony for words. Making unearned claims of a Silver Star Medal, a Senior Parachutist badge, a Purple heart. Why do you little dick assholes have to stand in the blood of better men than you, claiming things that you have not accomplished. What a shitpile. Now your name is up in lights, at Goooogle, at Green Beret Poser Exposers, at This Ain’t Hell blog. Every comment made on these posts will create a Goooooooooooogle entry in your sorry assed name, so that anyone who looks you up will see what a shit pile you are.
https://valorguardians.com/blog/?p=80724 “
Dude what the fuck?
Just like my former friend who has a Desert Storm CIB and served in Airborne LRRP units some years after that but had to go and lie about two purple hearts and being a Mogadishu Ranger.
Tool.
His FOIA release contains false information regarding his assignments. He definitely did not serve in Co. A/2nd Bn./509th Infantry in Vietnam. I served in that very company and infantry battalion from January 1969 to May 1970. That unit never served in the Viet of the Nam. Throughout the war it remained at Robert E. Lee Barracks in Mainz, Germany. Neither of the two infantry battalions of the 509th ever served in Vietnam. I therefore question the entire FOIA release.
I think the same about the 2/508. As I posted above: I didn’t know 2/508 was in VN. 1/508 went with the 3/82nd (ABN)(SEP) after Tet. I think the 2/508 stayed at Bragg. I could be wrong though.
4th Bn/503rd PIR was in RVN as part of the 173rd Abn Brigade. However, I find many discrepancies in the timeline in his assignments in the FOIA response. Based on his BPED he would have completed jump school in late Jan of 1969. If he was assigned to the 82nd, he would have been at Bragg for several months before getting orders to RVN, but the FOIA says he went to Germany sometime in 1970. Since he doesn’t have a purple heart, he would had to have served a full 12 month tour in the RVN, unless he contracted malaria or something.
3/82nd came into VN after Tet ’68: around Jan ’68. 1/508 was one of the BNs. Not 2/508.
Considering that TET-68 didn’t get start until late Jan. 68, the 3/82nd wouldn’t have arrived in country till probably mid February 1968
PS. I rotated home from the Viet of NAM on a troop ship in OCT., 1967
Hmmm. An 11B in an HHC unit. Perhaps the personnel clerk? With access to records that needed “updating” ….
I want to see the original assignments sheet page of his DD form 20 (enlisted personnel record). Jonn gets them all the time, I don’t know why one wasn’t furnished for this douche canoe. We have seen transcription errors before from these clowns from the NPRC.
Roger that.
You noticed, too. And as far as I could find, 2/508 was stateside, 4/503 was 173 AB, and 2/8 was a leg inf. bn. in 4th Div. I am also curious as to what unit(s) he was in during his 7 year tour in Germany. And they show his service number.
It’s Monday so where are the phony Seals today????
Chin up Brett Watson, ALL FOUR of them!!!
Triple chin, triple canopy.
SSDD.
I’m amazed that he doesn’t claim that he was Mr. Holmes assistant from a reincarnation.
Things change over half a century or so. Those green leadership tabs, for example, were worn by anyone in command of a fire team or bigger back in them olden days.
The “need this one??” looks like a commemorative medal for the Tet Offensive.
Totally off topic (but in my defense there is no open thread in which to opine): Why in the hell do Clapper et al still have security clearances? And, I bet, they are SCI level which requires a need to know and a slot.
sweet baby Jesus…
as I female I would have killed for the chance to try to get the real things this dude got…why the fuck did he have to lie? he had a very honorable service then he takes a MOAB sized shit on his uniform. man, these fuck socks just make me sick!
Can anyone count the OS bars, right sleeve?
DD-214 says two but I see four in the fuzzy photo (couldn’t be my eyes).
Another case of “Why?”
Well, it seems that there may be more bullshit than was first apparent. When all is said and done, we may learn he was eating sausages in Germany and spanking his monkey in Carolina when he was reportedly at war.
Hmm. A Google search gives the following URL and commentary suggesting Brett Watson has film from his time in Vietnam. Couldn’t get the link to work (just goes to history.com) today so the following is the text from the cache:

Vietnam Green Beret
TV-PG
Two daughters learn about the wartime experiences of their father, Brett Watson, through the films he shot in Vietnam.
Duration: 3m 33s
Yet, as with most liars, he scrubbed his Book of Face page when busted.
Why would any man willingly destroy his reputation with claims that are bald face lies that can be so easily fact checked ? “Could” be remembered with Honor but insisted on being remembered as just another full of shit poser. Damn disgusting !
