Students on gun control
Someone sent us this video clip from their local news coverage of the student protest against guns today in Nashville, Tennessee;
Yes, if you shoot a deer with an Armalite-style Rifle, the deer will explode according to this person who got lost looking for a barbershop. The reason that this class of people are called students is because they don’t know everything, as this youngster demonstrates perfectly.
Go back to class.

Let these dumbshits starve to death waiting for a meal to drop in their laps! Where do they think that steak came from? I know, a little pink fairy dropped it on their kitchen table, right??? Funny how most of them turn conservative once they get in the real world and have the government take half their salary in taxes, right??? The sad part is that they let these stupid bastards vote!!!
Duh. Meat comes from grocery stores.
Yes. I am all for people having to be:
25 years or older
Employed full time
Pay taxes
Live on their own
A percentage should be married or have a dependent… not the 12 dependents we each have to pay for that came here illegally
Pay bills
Buy groceries
Then, when they see what coind they have left after being ass raped by the government, they can think about how their decisions at the polls affect them.
And they want these little morons voting as young as 14.
They are so smart they can teach us about guns, but yet they still eat Tide pods.
Ignorance can be cured through hard work and time. Stupid is forever.
Amen!!!
Like Ron White said, “No matter what you try, YOU CAN’T FIX STUPID, stupid is forever.”!
That Barber Shop Refugee needs to switch dope dealers!
My AR-15 must be defective. It doesn’t make deer explode. Hell, even watermelons react rather disappointingly.
I demand that my AR-15 be replaced with a new one that makes things explode!
My AR10 must be very near dead. The 8-point Buck I shot with it did not blowup either. Also I left it out all day and it did not even roll over. Joe
But its an AR10, it is only 2/3rds as powerful as an AR15….
Awesome. 😀
Yeah, I need one of them ‘splodey kind of guns too!!!
I saw a Gun-Cam video of an exploding Moose as part of a training film.
That took a 20×102 burst from twin M39s, 5.56 would have prolly just pissed it off!
This actually happened at CFB Cold Lake in the late 80’s by a CF-5 pilot on a practice straffing run.
“5.56 would have prolly just pissed it off!”
My first encounter with a moose (scarce in SoCal) was when I was 13, hunting deer with my Uncle in Idaho. We were in the timber, walking along a logging road with a 2-acre clearcut to one side and an old-growth stand to the other. I heard something move, turned with my rifle, and found a big bull of biblical proportions staring me down from less than ten yards with his only-slightly-smaller cow beside him.
So I’m terrified, tapping my Uncle’s arm to get his attention, as he had been watching the treeline across the clearcut. His assessment: “Oh shit. Don’t. Move.”
The bull moose is mad-dogging me, very effectively communicating “Try it, bitch! See what happens next!” I ask if we should shoot. My Uncle says, “I ain’t that fast, and what you’re carrying’ll just piss him off.” I had a .243, my Uncle had a .30-06 slung. With his dominance unquestionably established, the bull decided he wasn’t in that much of an asskicking mood—lucky for us—and went on his way with his date.
Regarding autonomous reactions to mortal fear, well, you couldn’t have pulled a banjo string out of my ass with a D-9 Cat, and I figured I would probably pass a few diamonds the next time I had to drop a deuce. 20mm against a moose is not overkill, it’s smart!
I spent a very long day and part of a night tree’d by a big bull moose that didn’t appreciate me fishing in his part of the Teton River. Second cast, this big head comes up out of the river and turns toward me. Dropped the rod, ran to the only tree within 100yds and waited. And waited. Got home around 10:30 pm, dad says “where you been?” I just said “moose”. Thought he was gonna have a heart attack laughing.
You saw a moose in North Kalifornistaniraqkorea?
Were you by any chance hunting in a large facility where they have exotic animals on display for the public and you are separated from them by bars/enclosures?
And by any chance did your uncle share a few bottles of ripple with you before the expedition?
I’ve seen them in Alaska of course but didn’t know they wondered down from Canadia.
I have shot wild boar with the 25 MM Bushmaster from the Bradley CFV on ranges in GA. I thought that shooting them with HE would make instant BBQ but there just wasn’t anything left.
Um, no. The moose was in Idaho.
My reading calibration was off.
I was reading in metric not standard.
The proper .30-06 load is plenty of moose medicine.
But ME and quality bullet construction is essential.
Up here the .303 SMLE w/ Mk.VII ball was once the standard for Moose and caribou.
I use .303 in my Ruger #1 for Moose, but handload .303 to pressures that would turn an SMLE into a pipe bomb.
I figure .30-06 would do the job, but it was a bolt gun slung on my Uncle’s shoulder, with the moose inside of ten yards. The Remington 700 ain’t exactly a quick-draw piece.
True. And thankfully yoy lived to tell this amusing story!
Ruger #1? Hope you’re a good shot, ’cause you’re only getting one. It’s a light rifle, too- 10 rounds of 30.06 through my friend’s #1 was plenty for me, ouch.
I hunt Moose in Northern Alberta in dense Boreal forest. Shots over 50m are quite rare.
I grew up shooting Martini’s, so I can shoot a falling block single shot pretty damn fast.( I exceed the expected standard ROF of the average Victorian soldier.)
I handload my .303 for it with a 225gn bullet at about 2900fps! I am 6’2 and 260 lbs, 10 rounds kicks my ass!
I only use CDN IVI or PRVI brass for smokin’ .303 loads
HUNTING STORY ALERT!
We scoped out a large Bull showing up on schedule every day. My friend has arthritis so he carrys an ass pad. The bull shows up. My friend throws the pad down and takes up a prone position. First shot misses.
WTF! Second shot misses. WTF!
Third shot misses. My friend is just about crying as the bull looks at us and saunters off.
I have never seen anyone work a Ruger #1 action that fast. And prone at that.
Sadly, he bumped the scope at some point which we confirmed. It was way high.
It was a monster Bull.
That hurts on many, many levels. I would be sobbing uncontrollably, I fear.
RCAF: You mean a Martini-Henry? AKA benighted heathen blaster?
The very same Dino! .450/577 MH as well as .303 Martini-Enfield s
I took my first moose with a #1 in 7mm magnum. 75 yds with an un needed scope. Head shot. She dropped right there. It was my friends rifle.
WARDEN STORY ALERT!
As we exit the woods there are half a dozen game wardens waiting at the end of the road. The usual license checks and harrasment ensue. A FNG orders my friend to open the bolt to show him the rifle is clear.
Friend: It doesn’t have a bolt.
Warden: I said open that bolt!
Friend: It doesn’t have a fucking bolt.
Warden takes the weapon and attempts to open the “bolt”.
Warden: How do you open this thing?
Friend: Move the release and open the breech.
Warden: Oh! It’s a lever action!
SECOND WARDEN: No, it’s a falling block action.
Warden hands it back to my friend and says “here you do it”.
Another WARDEN STORY ALERT;
It might take a day or 3 to post it – very busy at work.
Last time I saw a moose, it was in the bed of my friend’s truck, on a bed of ice, and hanging over one side. Thing was massive, and I’m familiar with them, living in Maine and all that.
BUT……. that thing took 2 well-placed rounds of 45/70 either one of which SHOULD have been a kill shot. But no. Took two rounds to drop it.
After dressing it out, that thing’s heart was as bigger than my damned head.
Filled up a couple freezers, though, and makes excellent burgers.
Took my last one with a .444 Marlin.
I was not impressed.
45.70 Winchester. Works every time.
52 grains of IMR3031 and the 405gr Speer flatpoint…. vintage big medicine. Not for trapdoors and rolling blocks.
Model 1886 Winchester and yes you have the right cartridge. Flatnose is where it’s at. It’s almost a crew served weapon.
Yeah, I know. Fellow hunters concur. The .444 is just a 44 magnum pistol bullet (.429 dia) at twice the velocity. The 240 gr R44M standard ammo is not good enough. Hornady 265 gr (not leverevolution crap) is much better but still not good enough. The Marlin lever action rifles are superb and the 45-70 is THEE moose gun.
IMHO Moose are a very picturesque animal, but I’ve always wondered what they taste like! IMHO there’s a special place for all of God’s Creatures right next to the potatoes & gravy.
Moose meat is very lean. If ground for burgers beef fat needs to be added.
Pot roast is to die for.
I always thought Moose were four legged life support units for a monstrous schnozz.
Their brain is the size of a golf ball.
Use it like good beef, but like 26L says, it’s very lean. So cook it very fast or very slow- in between will get you shoe leather.
Old friend of mine killed a moose in Maine with a .32 Winchester Autoloader. One shot. He said it was all about shot placement.
“all about shot placement”
and at least 130 gr.
http://www.maine.gov/ifw/docs/moosehuntersguide_2017.pdf
Thats a very informative guide. Lots of great info.
I doubt that the 32 Autoloader can hold enough powder to push 130 grains out fast enough to be a weapon recommended for killing large animals. They do not recommend the 32 Win special, or the 351 which are far more powerful than the 32 AL. My friend Jimmy was the serious outdoors kind of guy, and probably had to use what he had available.
I have heard a few (true?) anecdotes about Canadian Indians (feathers, not dots 😉 taking moose with a .22LR.
One was told by St.Elmer in an old G&A article. So I consider it legit. Supposedly the Indian shot the moose in the ear while swimming.
A despicable Piss poor hunting technique anyhow.
I hope that most of those who attempted this stunt, ended up gored and trampled into a fine paste.
Many people who have never seen a Bull Moose would chuckle at them being dangerous game.(bullwinkle?)
They would get a very rude awakening. Moose are BIG, very ornery and can attack out of nowhere.
Respect and cartridge selection are vital.
Y’all are making me jealous. I’m doing good to bring home a fox squirrel.
I was expecting an earth-shattering kaboom…
I feel totally used! If a 5.56 is supposed to make a deer ‘splode…what is a 105mm REALLY supposed to do? Im thinking it should be able to at least blow up small planetoids…
Holy Hell, what a dumbass.
Moose can really travel. Most of the big ass creatures I see on a semi-normal basis are Elk. The Hanford elk heard hasn’t been culled in a while and if you ignore the two headed three antlered ones, there are some huge elk on site. Beautiful animals.
I think the poor ignorant child is a victim of that “news report” I’ve seen floating around the interwebz, where the bimbo talking head talks about the power of an AR15 vs a watermelon, when the shooter is clearly using a 12ga autoloader – probably with birdshot.
You can see the shotgun shell eject after the shot – and Barbie Bimbo calls it an AR.
Go figure.
No that’s funny… “watermelons react rather disappointingly” I don’t care who you are that’s funny!
Can’t gamble, can’t drink, can’t rent a car, etc
Can advocate with full support of media and politicians to unlawful strips civil rights from people. I’m tired of these tide pod eating idiots and their handlers.
How many of these morons aren’t graduating high school? Americans deserves better than to condemned, convicted, and lectured by these slugs.
Tide pods…
Dumb enough to swallow laundry detergent, but we’re supposed to listen to them on legal issues?
I find asking myself how many kids did they ask until the LMSM found the answer they wanted. Joe
The lame-ass media probably waited over by the marked male/female on the door porta-potties until a kid came by that just couldn’t make up their mind on which one to use and then asked the question about the guns.
The same mental midgets like to wash it down with saline juice boxes with sippy straws: https://www.facebook.com/taboy.washington/videos/1700158830018128/?multi_permalinks=2001938459846185¬if_id=1521068275736978¬if_t=feedback_reaction_generic
Christ…
Dayum…
That is just plain wrong…
If they want to strip the civil rights of others, those civil rights also apply to them. Stripping them from others will also remove those rights from them.
That, of course, does not occur to them right now. They can barely think, never mind think ahead more than 15 minutes.
They still think someone should “take care of them” like Mommy & (Daddy/Mommy-take yer pick) did.
They have the minds of 14 year old twits and the physical structure of nearly adults.
They think someone should be taking care of them. Guns mean responsibility in the grownup world and they don’t really want that.
They are not the models for that poem ‘Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be’.
Just my viewpoint.
DON’T YOU DARE ATTACK THESE INNOCENT CHILDREN! THEY’RE THREATENED WITH DEAAAAATH EVERY DAY! HOW CAN YOU SLEEP WITH YOURSELF?!!?!?
This is the most vile part of this. They couldn’t successfully advocate their political positions amongst adults, so now they scoop up some kids to do it for them. Those kids, being kids, are typically ignorant, so they get ass-dragged constantly. That’s when the left steps in and bemoans political attacks against children.
If you’re going to come after my constitutional rights, and you’re disgusting enough to use a dumbass child as a front, I’m going to defend my rights as ardently and endlessly as needed. Any additional suffering that causes for that child is on you.
I’ve noticed that too. Since the last group killed in a school shooting was composed of children, all children are “victims” here.
Reasonable adults that point out that befriending that weird kid everyone picks on may do more to stop violence in schools than a tool ban are met with shrieks of “victim blaming” and “think of the children”.
Sadly, I feel that this new tactic will prove to be extremely effective in furthering the gun confiscation agenda.
Mao killed tens of millions with the youths he forged into his “Red Guard”.
Well, when I want to sleep with myself, I just get myself a little drunk and then move on to the seducing part. Works like a charm.
Jesus,
Too bad these teens don’t realize that this will not accomplish a damn thing but make them attention whores
Lost looking for a barbershop… niceeeee.
Hopefully he didnt come across a recruiting station on his haircut quest…
I didn’t watch the video.
JESUS FARKING CHRIST TAP DANCING ON A SALTINE….That’s a GUY?
No, ChipNASA, that is a slob. His hair is greasier than a weed-toking hippie from the 60s.
Not only is he well groomed, but he’s also a ballistics expert.
‘Splodey deer are, like, bad. Kevin De Leon wants ‘ghost” ‘splodey deer banned in California, and sales of venison tacos limited to Thursdays only…
That is because Kevin celebrates Manlove Thursdays with his boyfriend at a taco stand that serves venison tacos. Otherwise, Kevin always avoids the taco.
He must be thinking of a 120mm training HEAT round. Now THAT will make a deer explode. It’s even more spectacular when viewing through thermals, btw.
LMAO! Saw what one of those does to a cow at Yakima back in the 80’s! Messy.
Exploding deer. Oh. My. God. He’s clearly never shot a deer.
I’ve seen a smallish doe take two 12ga slugs to the head and still kick. I shot a very small buck three times in the head with my “assault rifle” and still had to slit its throat to put it out of its misery (broken leg from car accident).
Why can’t hunters just get their meat from the grocery store where no animals are harmed?
As The Simpsons once taught me, the cattle grow up and graduate from Bovine University.
When I grow up I want to go to Bovine University.
Love classic Simpsons.
“Don’t feel bad though, if a cow ever got the chance he’d eat you and everyone you care about….”
Actually had one of my granddaughters high school friends tell me that she didn’t eat meat, only chicken and fish.
I smiled at her and told her that’s good.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that these are the same Rhodes Scholars that eat tide-pods for fun.
This Bullshit may be just the thing to get me to finally buy that S&W 500…just fukking because.
Know a guy who has one. He’s been to the range with it exactly twice for the “gee-whizz” factor.
It’s now a safe queen.
Handloading, down, will be your best bet.
oooooooooooowwww
My 686+ and my Model29 are all the fun I want in that department. Love to watch it being fired thou. Gerry Michulek does an awesome rapid fire with one of those.
I’m guessing he’s actually a teacher.
Useful Idiots on parade…
National School Walk Out Day? “Hey, hey, NRA, how many kids have you killed today?” That’s the chant at some school that CNN (online) is spotlighting to “report” on this protest. It’s very groovy. It’s outtasight. Don’t bogart that joint and pass the apple wine, man. Cripes.
They don’t know anything other than the indoctrination they receive from their proglodyte teachers. God help this country in another ten years when these mush-heads are out making real decisions.
The “HitlerJugend” (Hitler Youth) were fanatical evangelists for National Socialism, part of the larger “SturmAbteilung”. They were part and parcel of the Nazi murder of over ten million civilians.
Mao used children and teens as his “Red Guard”. Those were the shock troops of the ” cultural revolution”. Estimates of the body count run to 30 million. It may have been double that.
So -of course- our left wing turns again to “youth movements”.
Weren’t the Young Octobrists encouraged to rat out their parents as well?
Yup.
Google “Pavel Morozov”
“The reason that this class of people are called students is because they don’t know everything…”
The reason that this class of people are called students is because they don’t know anything!
Fixed it for ya.
Who The Fuck is going to listen to a MINOR, obviously still wet behind the ears, rant about gun control?
The parents who thought the child should have “15 minutes of fame”
STFU and go back to school.
Talk about presenting targets of opportunity. Do these morons and their teachers/administrators have a clue, and at all?
What of those who suffer in inner cities, e.g. Chicago and other areas of US?
They perps but suffer anyway e.g. the five
year old child who was seated on her stoop in the afternoon. She was gunned down by a drive-by.
OR, is it only a tragedy in an affluent community?
BTW they also walked out of local high schools here in putrid Portland to join the riot in progress which began Nov 9, 2016 and lasted four days.
Freakin Blizzard up here.
Nobody walking no where.
There was some itty bitty event that lasted about 10 minutes in Chicago schools, but I don’t think it made it this far north. There was nothing on the news about it last night at all.
If the students want to make a statement against violence by a brief protest, fine, but they should not be used as the puppets the media is trying to turn them into.
I call it “pimping the children”.
“What of those who suffer in inner cities…?”
No, it’s not affluence v. poverty that determines the degree of coverage or public concern. It’s that the overwhelming prompts for the violence are drug dealings and gang conflict and no one much cares what they do to one another.
Did any of those young mush-headed useful idiots ever mention the dozens gunned down every weekend in Chicagostan where they have the gun laws libtard proglodytes seek?
The answer, API, is no. It doesn’t occur to them to ask those questions or bring up that subject. It would spoil their butthurt plan to protest.
https://www.texastribune.org/2018/03/14/texas-students-walkout-classes-protesting-gun-control/ says about 3,000 students were expected nationwide. I make that about .0009% of the population; hardly a populist uprising. Spring break in Houston, only about a dozen gathered…if there’s no school to blow off, apparently they are not interested.
The stupid is strong in this one. .223/5.56 is not even legal to use against deer in my state, since it is not of sufficient power to take down a deer.
As those of us who know anything about firearms and deer hunting know, .223/5.56mm chambered rifles are not legal to hunt deer because they don’t have the terminal velocity and take-down power to bring down a large animal like a deer. It is not because .223 rifles can “explode” a deer, which they cannot. But then our proggies live in a parallel universe full of unicorns.
Then of course you have a situation like this:
Kid has a “guns don’t kill people, people kill people” sign as part of this ‘student-led’ walk-out and the principal throws him off school property.
https://www.facebook.com/kenny.macdonald.9619/videos/1824236487650483/
A deer will explode if you shoot it with an AR-15.
I wonder what would happen if you shot a fucking cannon at the damn thing?
