This is about Guns. That is all

| November 11, 2017

In case anyone is wondering, the state of Illinois has what can be politely deemed the strictest gun laws in the country. Illinois has ZERO reciprocity with other states regarding guns of any kind. If you’re coming from out of state to hunt deer or porcupines or whatever, you do need a hunting license, but that supports the state’s parks and recreation programs, including game hunting. However, you can’t have the guns riding shotgun in the rack in the pickup truck cab. And considering the theft rate in some areas, I wouldn’t do that, anyway.

It doesn’t seem to matter that there is plenty of anti-gun stuff already in place. There is always some whining soul waiting in the shadows and corners to holler ‘more laws!!’ as loudly as possible, because – well, it gets attention for them in the media and lets them strut in front of the cameras a little bit.

What annoys me more than anything else is that mindless and ignorant repeating meme that guns used in crimes are somehow bought legally. Nor does it matter that anyone, including me, can wave reports from the Tribune and other newspapers in the faces of these timid souls that their perception of guns associated with crime is 180-out wrong, unrealistic, and just plain incorrect.

They find ignorance and corpse dancing to be a lot more attractive than the truth.

There has been a bill SB1657 in the state legislature since February 2017 that requires gun dealers to have licenses, undergo background checks, etc. – you know the drill – in order to sell guns in the first place.  http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/BillStatus.asp?DocNum=1657&GAID=14&DocTypeID=SB&LegId=104404&SessionID=91

The howling and fearful ignore the fact that the “trace” language only gets an original sale point for a gun used in a crime. They purposely fail to recognize that if a gun is stolen and used in a crime, it is not the fault of the dealer or the person who bought it.

It would be nice if these tearful, fearful sobsters took a few minutes out of their precious time with online social media and paid attention to these things, but that would mean they’d have to acknowledge their mistakes and be in touch with reality. Giving up the addiction to electronic media would be quite painful for them.

As this article from the Chicago Tribune, posted back in May this year, indicates, we already have everything in place addressed by SB1657. There is nothing new in it. Zero. Zip. Nada.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/commentary/ct-gun-shops-harmon-senate-illinois-perspec-0511-jm-20170510-story.html

And yet, in this morning’s paper is a letter to the editor from the pastor of one of the Baptist Churches around here that passing this bill will stop corrupt gun dealers. No, do not send him any “hate” mail. I’m sure he’ll get enough in-your-face backtalk from people who know better.

Carjacking is rising in Chicago proper and is creeping out to the suburbs. The carjackers all have guns. They may not be trained in how to use them – probably throw the bullets at you – but the probability of any of them buying them legally is so far below ZERO that the Antarctic continent is warmer in the winter.

As was indicated in an article I posted a few weeks ago, guns are frequently shipped from factories in freight cars that are parked overnight in railyards on Chicago’s south side. Those box cars are broken into all the time. One 2013 break-in resulted in 115 Rugers being stolen. Why so few? It was all the thieves could carry.

I am sick of this ignorance and bullshit.  I don’t know how to shut it down when the facts fly in the face of the people who insist on jumping up and down in front of TV cameras about it. It is far past time that the facts start to overwhelm the hysterics.

You have to get to the 2:40 mark for the payout, but the whole clip, along with the episode, is one of my top five Simpsons episodes.

I will be “Warmer in the Winter” at the City National Civic Theater in San José, California.

Much warmer than the Liberal Winter which has afflicted this state the last couple of decades; especially WRT guns.

Rats. Forgot the link for that “Warmer in the Winter” reference:

So why doesn’t the 2nd Amendment apply in Illinois?

The Supreme Court made up a right of trannies in the wrong bathroom. And every stay follows this decree to the letter…

In the anti-gunnner’s play book, It’s not about who can tell the truth…It’s about who can tell the biggest lies and get away with it.
Collective punishment for law abiding gun-owners is much easier and can be seen by the masses to be doing something positive even though it’s not effective gun law enforcement at the pointy end.

Illinois doesn’t want to be part of evil RethugliKKKan Amerika where they have to obey the “racist” Constitution…

I noticed the “Bill Status” link had lots of names listed as sponsers but no clue as to party affiliation.

Thunderstixx

Or, you could just move to Texas.
In spite of the recent massacre in Sutherland Springs from a puke that should have been shot years ago when he fractured the skull of an 18 month old boy, Texas is one of the safer places to live.
You rarely read about a carjacking here as it is legal to conceal a firearm in your car, loaded, with one in the chamber without a permit…
So, about 10% of the cars around you have a firearm in them, it’s anybody’s guess which one it is…
There’s lots of room and lots of jobs too.

Chicago is to Illinois as LA and San Francisco are to California.

Thunderstixx; Same deal down here in Florida. One can own a firearm in his/hers home and car without a CCW, but with a CCW, one can carry concealed on his/her person in his/hers car. Interesting is that in a Condo Community, I could keep the firearm as mentioned above in my condo without a CCW, but technically I cannot go from my condo to my car with the weapon concealed because there is public access between myself and my car. Gray area. Before I got my CCW, I just put it in my range bag. This only applies to Condos as far as i know.

One useful law is the kind that automatically assigns extra charges and penalties when someone uses an unregistered gun to commit a crime. We have one of those here in Massachusetts, called Bartley-Fox. But there’s a catch: Bartley-Fox charges are always the first thing our hapless Dhimmicrat prosecutors bargain away.

UpNorth

We in the Mitten state have a ‘Mandatory’ 2 year sentence for the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. That, too, is the first thing that prosecutors bargain away in a plea deal. In the urban court systems, mostly.
In any of the ‘rural’ court systems, the perps mostly get their two years, along with the sentence for whatever crime they get tried for. And, the 2 years is consecutive to any sentence. So, Taquan or Bubba has to do their sentence, then do 2 years.

A Proud Infidel®™

Florida has their 10/20/Life Law stating that if you use a firearm in the commission of a crime it’s an automatic mandatory 10 years. Fire said weapon while doing so, automatic 20 years, kill someone and it’s life.

Stacy0311

Hmmmm, if the existing laws were actually enforced, seems like that would cut down on a lot of crime. Isn’t there a federal madatory 5 years for felon in possession of a firearm? Do your state time, then get turned over for 5 years in the federal PMITA prison.
And how many prosecutions are there for lying on a 4473? I’m sure there are warnings on the 4473 that “Lying on this form is a federal felony subject to X years in prison and X$ in fines.”
Start charging and locking people up.

Oh but that will cost money. I’m sure there’s money in the budget that is paying for social/welfare services to illegal immigrants. Sanctuary cities can take up the slack.

“unregistered gun”
What the hell does that even mean?

Went to the Gun show at the Palm Beach County Fairgrounds, Fl. this morning and the guy at the Tea Party table shows me this picture of a chainsaw rail mounted on a generic AR rifle. I read the previous posts about this gadget but did not know shit from shine ola about it. I got home and googled it and the PC screen lit up with a full page of articles on it. I tried to copy and paste the pics but was not able to paste the pic on the window I am typing on. Spent half an hour with no succsess.

I’ll just stick with my light Saber Bayonet and Cthulu Launcher until they come up with a 2-stroke Chainsaw Bayonet!

My dad has 6 acres in southern Illinois. His new neighbor has called the sheriff at least 10 times because we set up a range as kids. Complaining about kids and people with assault weapons, my brother is a major in the Illinois corrections department. The new neighbor cries and complains that terrorists are trainining next door. The sheriff shows up, checks fOID cards and leaves. Fuuuk liberals.

rgr769

Ex, hasn’t anyone told the morons in your state legislature that the feds already conduct an extensive background check on anyone applying for a FFL in the first place? I can’t believe they could be that clueless, but I guess they are predominately Dhimmicats/proglodytes.

ocean12

Getting the feds to take a firearms case from a local/county/state agency is not an easy task. The bad guy has to have a substantial history and be a general pain in the ass at all kinds of levels before the feds will even take a case.

I thought firearms were shipped direct on trucks from the factories to warehouses then to individual dealers. I had no idea they were put on trains. Whose bright idea is that?

11B-Mailclerk

It’s -almost- as if “gangs” were an ongoing criminal enterprise, with sophisticated intelligence gathering capabilities, who recon for suitable high-value targets with minimal security.

26Limabeans

I thought UPS was the major shipper.
Maybe not large factory orders but certainly individual shipments to and from the factory and from the warehouse to the dealer.
You would be amazed at the number of handguns shipped vis the Postal Service.
Perfectly legal.
