Wednesday morning feel good stories
From Tulsa, Oklahoma;
Tulsa police say a suspected burglar shot his alleged partner in crime over the weekend.
The incident happened at a home near Pine and North St. Louis Avenue early Sunday morning.
Police say the homeowner’s girlfriend was at the house when she heard someone breaking into a back window.
They say she armed herself and started yelling that she was calling 911.
Police say that as the suspects were leaving, one suspect fired a shot back at the house, and police believe the bullet ended up hitting his partner in crime.
Police say thirty minutes later, a guy showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm after a bullet hit an artery, and he had to go into immediate surgery.
Detectives say they got enough evidence against that suspect to arrest him for the break-in, and they say they will arrest him when he is released from the hospital, though they are still working to identify the other suspect.
From Norfolk, Virginia;
Just before 11 p.m. on November 5, police were called out to a home in the 1000 block of W. 50th Street for a home invasion.
Police say two men who were inside the home when 21-year-old Jamel Bryant and 21-year-old J-Quan Reap broke into the house. Both suspects fled the scene after they were shot during the incident.
Later that night, Reap and Bryant arrived at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital suffering from non-life threatening wounds.
Reap and Bryant are charged with two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, armed burglary, and attempted malicious wounding.
Bryant is being held in the Norfolk Jail with no bond. Reap will be transported to the jail once he is released from the hospital.
The two men who were inside the home at the time of the burglary were not injured.
From Whittier, California;
“Two suspects entered the store,” authorities said in a statement, “and the clerk, seeing at least one of them was armed with a handgun, produced his own handgun and a shooting occurred.”
Investigators said gunfire was exchanged in the confrontation.
One of the would-be robbers fled the scene. The other was fatally wounded, according to police.
It was unclear if the at-large suspect was wounded in the shooting. A description of that person was not available.
From Fort Worth, Texas;
They say family of five, the father, mother and 3 kids were inside the home for the evening when a man forced himself through the front door.
Police tell CBS 11 that the father grabbed a rifle and called 911.
While on the phone with 911, police say the intruder continued making threats on the family and trashing items inside the house, then we’re told he attempted to run towards one of the rooms.
At that point investigators tell CBS11 the father fired at the unidentified man killing him inside the home.
Police also say the suffered a stab wound from the intruder who was armed with a knife.
The father was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to be okay.

It’s nice to see that folks are hyphenating first names now.
And since they are setting the precedence on hyphenating, he gets the full treatment when it comes to scoring on TAH Name Scrabble (Home Version). So here goes:
Jamel Bryant (WOT) 25×2= 50
J-Hyphen-Quan Reap (WOT) 44×2= 88
Been a lot of WOT score multipliers lately…moon full? People not getting enough range time?
My all time favorite still Ta-a, pronounced Tadasha.
J-Quan learned that you Reap what you sow.
Not enough caffeine yet this morning, but J-Quan reaped what he sowed.
I’d like to take this moment to remind everyone that since the Nov. 4 protests were kind of fizzly, today *11/8* is the alternate date. I believe the mindless howling is supposed to occur today.
However, considering that it’s 25F here with a brisk breeze from the large inland water body (large enough for ocean-going vessels), as well as raining and snowing in other parts of the country, the howlers will require hot drinks and sustenance and may not get the attention they hope for.
The howling is today?
*sigh*….be prepared…earmuffs and popcorn.
Dang … nice way to start the day. 😛
