Joseph Bentley Knight; stolen valor arrest
A short article from ABC3340 tells us about the arrest of Joseph Bentley Knight who was picked up in Shelby County, Alabama. It looks like he was arrested for pretending to be a recipient of the Navy Cross and he was using that story to defraud a resident until the local sheriff intervened.
The Shelby Co. Sheriff’s Office says Knight also had other medals in his possession and used them to get money from an individual.
Knight is currently free on a $1,000 bond.
Deputies say no charges have been pressed by the person tricked into giving him money, yet.
Thanks to AverageNCO for the link.

In addition to the fake Navy Cross, did this yowzer claim to be a Navy SEAL as well ???
It looks like Don Kernodle has aged pretty well.
Stolen Valor, rancid cherry.
Defrauding others – and probably a lot more.
Joseph Bentley Knight is a fraud and a liar.
Joseph Bentley Knight, bonded out to continue to scam innocent people. Sounds like the STOLEN VALORIST KYLE CHRISTOPHER BARWAN, who has been bonded out far too many times, given far too many chances. Damned judges! Citizens and cops work their asses off to get these guys into the judicial system only to see them hit the streets again.
Not to mention the “Let ’em loose Bruce” Judges that free them with a slap on the wrist as they go on to con their next victim!
Another scumbag scams his life right down the drain. We’ll be seeing much more about this clown in the future, unless I miss my guess.
Next!
Based on the information on this Mugshot as well as other research, am pretty sure he served in the US Army at Fort Stewart between 2011-2012/2013:

That recent? His forehead has more grooves than a Stevie Wonder LP.
there’s only two on an LP
Thats a 33rpm or 78rpm. Sounds groovy. Don’t remember if LP’s were waxed in 45rpm.
I doubt it, I only saw singles in 45 and every LP I ever saw was a 33.
There are 2 grooves on a vinyl record, RPM just doesn’t matter.
Except, of course, when the recording company or artist plays games. Like Monty Python did on “Matching Tie and Handkerchief” – where one side had two different concentric grooves, and thus had two “completely different” audio tracks on the same side, depending on precisely where you set the needle down.

Yeah, that could seriously mess with people’s minds – particularly if they listened to it while either drinking or engaging in “better living through chemistry”. (smile)
I see what you did there…I was referring to the other kind of grooves (which is why I specified Stevie Wonder instead of Slim Whitman)
Carlton G. Long:
Taking a wild guess, but looks as if that picture in the Mugshot may be his Driver’s License pic.
Any takers on doing a FOIA on him? He has been identified as a former service member. Who knows what those other medals may be that is in his possesion.
The grooves are for the piston rings.
His head looks like that guy on the oil can with a piston for a head.
Cocksucker.
If he was a member of the round table, King Arthur would have thrown this “KNIGHT” out into the “KNIGHT” darkness
Joseph Bentley Knight DOES NOT know me.
Turd Burglar.
You don’t know his circumstances. He served honorably in the Marines and Army. His to be ex wife is trying to defraud him. We should pray for this patriot not belittle.
Are you saying that if you have lousy judgement in selecting a marriage mate that it is OK to lie about the military honors you received?
This guy is anything but a patriot. I knew him. He claimed to be a Marine Corps Afghanistan veteran. Claims to have been a Marine sniper. Claims to have been shot in the line of duty.
Claims to have been diagnosed with PTSD. I gave this idiot a job out of a sense of duty to Corps and Country. He claims that he was a Sgt in my beloved Marine Corps. He let me down and every other service member that served with honor. He was dropped from Marine Corps boot camp on Training Day 10. He was discharged from the Army after 14 months for unacceptable performance of duties.
Jump apparently you did not do your research. He was discharged from marines before completing boot camp, and was in Army for only 14 months. Not much of a military career. I agree what does his wife have to do with him telling lies about his military career. I truly feel sorry for her. You think you know who you are marrying- I guess this is a lesson for everyone. I pray for her.
