::Secondary explosions as libtards heads explode, spewing feces everywhere.::
38 “O”s, Mick.
That have to be a record.
Seismographs 1000 miles away felt that one. Great speech, Doc.
and best of all, you can tell from the way it’s worded that there was a lot of editing going on to tone it down BEFORE it was posted. wish I could’ve seen the first draft.
well said, Doc Simpson.
“Shit in the hallway”= your fired find a new home.
Yeppers
Whelp; that about says it.
Bullet #3: Where are you, Larsy ???
Please, oh please, don’t conjure him up.
(As a matter of fact, I believe that I heard that Jonn finally dropped The Ban Hammer on him…)
Thank God!
I heard the same, that he just wouldn’t stop pushing the boundaries and doing all he could to piss Jonn off, I enjoy the absence of him!
Except for posers and their sock puppets that come to defend their bullshit, I can only remember two people that Jonn has banned and that was Insipid and now Lars.
I think Obama girl was another one, but not sure.
::Tertiary Explosions occur::
First thing I thought of as well.
I have the strangest boner right now.
I know; right?
If you have a man-crush on someone younger than you; does that make you a Cougar?
Dude, that’s so gay, that I’m not even going to comment on it.
Heh heh heh. But you did comment on it…………….just sayin’
Yef, you’re not “Projecting”, are you?
LOL!! Now that is FUNNY!!
no, it makes you a cradle robber
It isn’t strange for me.
Mine is the same one I got the first time I fired an M-16 at Basic Training. Very good, but then I couldn’t really do much about it at the time.
I ass-u-me it’s a Freedom Boner®™, the kind you also get from say, burning off a belt of ammo at full auto!
precisely
Oh my God…such truth in what he says. Especially number one. I always HATED when people assumed I joined and stuck around because I “had no other options”. No fucktard, I did what I did for 20 years because I LOVED IT, my COMRADES IN ARMS, and the IDEALS of what this country was founded on; not because I was too stupid to go to college and too poor to do anything else.
Well said Jay… I didn’t stay in past my first enlistment, didn’t take advantage of the opportunities that were available, and have regretted it since ( not that I don’t love my career as a firefighter)… so who’s the real dummy? I’d say it was me…
You’re still ahead of me, Fyrfighter.
I was in a liberal college town with my brother, who wanted to introduce me to a former Marine friend of his who owned a coffee shop. My brother asked the guy behind the counter if the boss was in so that he and I could talk shop about the military. The guy behind the counter told me that the boss couldn’t have been a Marine because he was a college graduate.
HO-LEE sheepshit, I have to be reminded regularly that there are people out there who are THAT STUPID! Yeah, the libtard/TARDO stereotype about us Vets is that we were too stupid to even push a broom thus we joined the Military, fuckin’ libtard moonbats!
Oh, the stories I could tell you about my recruiting days….
Funny thing is, it is actually proven that people who join the military are generally smarter than their peers who don’t.
Though we also end up having a higher percentage of college education than our same age groups and have a much higher college graduation rate than civilians.
I got accepted into a college for special effects and toy design with a partial scholarship. I joined the ARNG to help pay for the rest. I fell in love with the Army and decided to go AD. I retired after 22 years and don’t regret the path I took one little bit.
“They” don’t have a clue what we feel, what we felt, what reasons we had for going into the military. Not a clue.
If I could add that to the Wall of Insults®™ I would but that is the most exquisite ‘FUCK YOU” I’ve read in quite a while.
The Wall of Insults®™ bows to your greatness and eloquence Mike.
Diplomacy is the art of telling someone to go to Hell, and making them anticipate the trip.
No Graybeard, it is the art of saying nice doggy, until you have time to pick up a rock!
😀 That, too WW.
Although I prefer a stout stick. Preferably one that goes “boom”.
My old shoulders don’t let me throw as well as I did at one time.
Really? I have a sign on my wall that says Diplomacy is saying “nice doggy” until your sniper gets the range.
Had not heard that one, Susan. I like it.
A TRUE Diplomat can tell you to go fuck yourself and go to hell in a way that will have you thanking him for saying so.
Another thing libtards ignore is that the US Military is actually the highest educated segment of the US Population, one look at the number of NCOs with college degrees will prove it! Most libtards take what they see as the easy route and many have never even broken a sweat working to earn a paycheck while they bawl that everyone else owes them.
Or to translate:
“People (liberals, progressives and snowflakes) sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough (conservative) men stand ready to do violence on their behalf”
Some shirt-tail relatives of mine are card carrying Democrats. They get christmas cards from all the big names in the party cause they donate all the time. Rainbow flag flying in front of the house in “solidarity”. Once told me that they “wish they could round up all the republicans and just kill them all.” The party of tolerance, right? And that conversation was well over a decade ago.
Anyways, neither of the couple ever served. I picked up my neice there one month after drill, so I arrived in uniform. We had a pleasant conversation, this was around 2005 or 2006. She asks me if I’m going to have to go “over there.” I said, I’ve volunteered twice already, but they haven’t needed me yet. She looked at me with the biggest look of shock on her face and in exasperation asked why I’d want to go. “Cause it’s my job. It’s what I enlisted to do!” I told her.
She literally could not comprehend why someone would want to fight to defend this country. Unfortunately, this seems to be the mentality of those on the far-left. Serving this country is not going to the polls every few years, putting a bumper sticker that says “Support the Troops”, or having any other good intentions.
Niger,
Please.
😉
I have a liberal TARDO sibling myself (Doesn’t nearly every family have a “that one”?) that disowned me on farcebook (no big deal to me) after she decided to taunt me about her “hug the muslims no matter what” stance and she went batshit after I reminded her that I’ve done two tours in the ME while she’s never set foot there. The last time I saw her she ran out of the room bawling when she started talking politics at dinner and I countered her with facts, logic and common sense which she responded to saying I was attacking her.
At least you’ve just got one API.. among my siblings (all 5 of them, and my daughter as well unfortunately-growing up with her mother, and listening to my siblings), i’m the only “not that one”… My dad actualy asked me “where did i go wrong”… what the hell do you say to that…and yeah, two out of three of my sisters haven’t talked to me in over a year now..
Condolences, brother.
Thanks GB.. the daughter part hurts, though i hold out hope that she’ll grow out of it, and start thinking for herself… as for the siblings.. NOT MY FAULT… lol
The older I got, the more Pop was a genius.
you and me both 11B
DITTO THAT!
My condolences as well, My Nephew, my younger Sister’s Son who does quite well for himself looked at me one day with sorrowful eyes and asked me why the older sis hates me so much and he then asked “Why does she call you a Republican Bastard?” and apologized, but I looked back at him ad thanked him for his honesty while assuring him that what the TARDO sister says is NOT his fault. He’s a diehard gun-loving Conservative that hunts and fishes like he’s Ted Nugent Junior, I think the time I spent with him had the right effect!
Good on ya API!! I wish my daughter hadn’t grown up halfway across the country… I spent as much time with her as i was allowed, but her mom definitely had more time to impact her, sadly..
I hear you and DO consider myself lucky, she has disowned me for years now, she has stayed dependent on our Parents while I’ve been making it on my own for close to 30 years.
That’s shitty. Political beliefs used to be something that we didn’t immediately disown and hate each other over. Don’t see how any parent could think they went wrong with a child that has committed to a life of service.
Good thing your military and fire brothers will always be there for you. 🙂
Thanks Mason, but his question was where did he go wrong with my siblings who have all gone full TARDO, not with me.. Dad’s a Vietnam vet, and die-hard conservative… he walks the middle road with the others, he hasn’t disowned any of them, they just don’t talk to me (the oldest… I always say he and mom got it right the first time, why’d they keep messing with perfection.. lol)
Copy that. Misunderstood. My faith in humanity is just slightly restored. 🙂
hehe, good. Yeah, had dinner with Dad last night. I kinda feel bad, cause i sort of went off about stupid children.. but it was a good dinner overall. He’s 74, and would still give a lot of 20 somethings a run for their money..
Hugged them with some belt fed 7.62mm did ya?
It gets a bit awkward when my daughter’s childhood friend’s family goes on their typical rants against Republicans.
The amazing thing is that we get along so well otherwise. It’s really odd that they cannot engage in reasonable differences of opinion.
I also have a niece who likes to “explain” to me why the libtard position makes sense – and then hushes quickly when the facts & logic come out.
Oh, well.
When I moved down to florida in 2007, I was in the pool introducing myself to my neighbors and mentioned my 37 years with Brink’s, my time in the Navy active and inactive Reserve plus ARNGUS 1975-1977 and my 30 years service as a Volunteer Fire Fighter; so one of the 55 year or older condo owner’s says to me. Your a Jew and what were you doing being in the Military and a volley Fireman and working as a truck driver. She is one of those that think that “US JEWS” are supposed to be Doctors Lawyers etc. When I hang out with my close friends, we do not talk politics and if one of them says something, I let them have both barrels. We do have closet conservatives here who do not talk politics unless they are around me and others who share the same conservative values. So to make a short story long, I did not want to lower myself to her level and at that time did not answer her. I did mention to certain registered democrats that if Adolph Hitler were still alive and running on the Dem ticket for office, that THEY would have to vote for the guy. WOW, I got some reaction to that.
I’m in the same, don’t talk politics, group. Seems a lot of conservatives are.
The other side seems to want to shove their politics down your throat.
When one of your neighbors cacks, do they expect a cardiologist to show up or a firefighter/paramedic? To be fair, depending on the mechanism of injury that leads to death, a person injury lawyer might show up before the ambulance. 😉
Funny (strange); you don’t sound Jewish………..j/k
I’m glad you live your life as you see fit and that service to your country was at the top of the list.
Good on ya, brother!
” I did mention to certain registered democrats that if Adolph Hitler were still alive and running on the Dem ticket for office, that THEY would have to vote for the guy. WOW, I got some reaction to that.”
YEP! Facts, logic and common sense are QUITE an anathema to liberals, I myself enjoy making their heads pop like a ripe zit!
The idea of serving the “cause” for these progtard twats is hitting someone in the head with a bike lock at an Antifa riot. But they will never do anything that will put their pansy asses in real danger.
The founders signed the declaration, staking their fortunes, their families, and their very lives on the line.
Dr. King marched at the head of the civil rights movement. An act of such conviction that it ultimately cost him his life.
Ghandi, Mandella, the list goes on.
Antifa claim they’re carrying on the “right” side of history, but hide their acts in crowds, behind masks, and anonymously. They are literal terrorists. Too bad the MSM gives them a righteous platform to stand on.
I still say if they really want to know who killed Dr. king, take a closer look at the three who had the most to gain (their cause got a martyr, and they all moved up in importance)… those three would be
1. Malcom X
2. Jessie Jackson
3. Louis Farakhan
… just saying
Malcolm-X died 3 years before MLK….so, how did he benefit?
My error IDC, i was reading a lot of stuff about connections among that group. The not so Reverend Al Sharpton was who I meant. Thanks for catching that
I’m thoroughly convinced that the commie left is doing just like it did in the sixties, they’ll put out a number of agitators to stir the crowd into a foaming-at-the-mouth frenzy who will then bug out just before the SHTF leaving their “useful idiots” to get beaten and arrested and I see today’s TARDOs as their cannon fodder.
And they are all paid by George Soros.
May he enjoy the same end as Herod Agrippa I.
Or, standing behind a row of women in the front, RGR, while the “men” throw rocks, bottles and assorted feces and trash at people they hate.
Yeah. What he said.
And everyone said “AMEN”.
Yes!!
HOOAH!
First of all, I have a girl-crush on all of you.
Second, I take a VERY small issue with Doc Simpson’s idea that the enemy knows how to do a better job of killing us. In my humble opinion, we’re still doing a better job of killing them than they are at killing us. If that were not so, how come Syria’s oil fields are no longer in ISIS hands???? How come what’s left of Raqqa has now succumbed to the Iraqi armed forces?
We’re still here. We’re everywhere, even in Niger and Somalia and whatever other pisshole country there is that can’t take care of itself. We’re the best example of what it takes to maintain freedom, even if these 3-year-olds in adult bodies don’t understand that.
You see, every time I dump a full trash bag into the dustbin, I think of the generation of spoiled brats throwing those temper tantrums and being rude as hell, and I start giggling. They’ll come running to us first when or if things ever really do go sour.
Ex, I think his comment that “that the enemy knows how to do a better job of killing us.” was just a comparison to before that little bitch manning gave them the info, not a comparison to our ability to kill them.. (the only thing that limits us there is the requirement that we act “civilized” instead of just eradicating them like the vermin they are.
Point take, fyrfighter, but I was also thinking of the sinking of the USS Scorpion.
And what if we engaged in a strategy of releasing false flag info occasionally, just to throw the buggers off? That has been done successfully before.
Very true Ex
Until the 2008 Presidential election I had never had my vehicle vandalized until after I put a “McCain – Palin 2008” sticker on my pickup and it was keyed by some libtard “Person of Tolerance” in the parking lot of a large book store and later in the parking lot of Sam’s Club. There are so many ways to offer proof that LIBERALISM IS A MENTAL DISORDER starting with how we were labeled “racist and intolerant” every time we dissented with the previous administration while libtards foam at the mouth calling for Violence against the Trump Administration along with the photoshop stunts they’ve pulled and playing the victim card when they had to face the fallout from their actions. Libtards will also do all they can to spare the lives of condemned murderers on Death row while openly espousing the wanton murder of unborn children as well. I see the left as being afflicted with Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder (TARD) which they allow to run their lives thus making them Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder Operatives (TARDOs), thus the next time you see a bunch of them wailing and screaming you can just think or say”Meh, another bunch of screeching TARDOs.” And their declaration of November 4th? Let them try that in Red State America where people don’t have the time or patience for them or their shit, MOLON LABE!
At least in TX with a LTC you can open carry, and make the libtards really wet their panties.
API, they are now planning to have a group screaming sessions in the form of mindlessly screaming and howling at the sky on Nov. 4. I guess publicizing their “revolution” didn’t come off too well for them.
Hahahahaha!!! I didn’t even know about them announcing they were gonna have a “revolution” on Nov. 4th. That’s some funny shit! What were the snowflakes gonna do; cry at us?
I think they planned to block traffic on major highways or something. I know Louder with Crowder did a video on it, in which he was instructed to start carrying a knife.
Maybe it will be both the traffic block and the mindless screaming at the sky. That would be a perfect time for a passing airplane to dump its waste load, wouldn’t it?
Hmm.. Nov 4th.. the only “roadblock” i’m likely to come across (or hope to at least) is a herd of Elk… don’t get a whole week this year, but even a couple of days in the woods is a good thing!
Any attempts by them to block highway traffic in my neck of the woods would likely result in a bunch of them getting run over by pickup trucks!
Yup, here as well.. I was hoping for just a quiet trail in the woods… our spot is about 25 miles from the nearest paved road
I’m jealous – but wish you cool clear weather with a clear shot at a trophy elk, where he rolls 1/2 way to the road and stops in a clearing accessible by whatever mode of transportation is available and legal.
Then an evening of elk steaks and adult beverages of your choice around a campfire.
Sounds perfect GB, though i’ll take 3-6 inches of snow, to make tracking a bit easier… I’m good, but the eyes don’t work quite as well as they used too
@Proud Infidel. The only road blocks on Nov. 4th would be the usual heavy traffic brought on by the now arriving over 70/80 aged snowbirds down here in West Delray Beach Florida. I’m over 70 but do not drive 10 mph below the speed limit in the left hand passing lane. A lot of patience involved.
They will -not- limit themselves to moonbat-barking.
We can count on the usual thugs to intermingle, attack, and fade back into the crowd.
Which is why I pack heat everywhere I go these days, either my .357 Magnum or my M1911.
You can expect that they will also be armed. The puppetmasters of those thugs may well be -counting- on an armed response to their thuggery, for propaganda purposes, and possibly to justify more open violence.
They -need- martyrs, and I think they may be willing to throw some of their own under the bus to achieve what they want.
I’m sure their puppetmasters WANT martyrs they can take to their minions in the liberal media, I’m just concerned about defending myself, my family, home and neighbors.
Luuuuuv my 1911!!!!!!!!
I’m getting a little chubby just thinking about it. About the Houge rubber panels that allow me to grip it just right and give a nice controlled squeeze on the trigger with a positive purchase and steady site picture……….damn, I need a smoke.
Is that wrong, API?
Just another version of the Freedom Boner®
Roger that, Sarge!
Nope, nothing wrong with that!
knew a guy who used to sell “Don’t Blame Me, I Voted For Clinton” stickers at gun shows. When I questioned it, he said he sold a lot of ’em… as great revenge tools. Said he slapped one on the Durango Sheriff’s car.. and it was vandalized three times in a week.
What are you talking about?
I really don’t understand.
Are you saying that conservatives vandalized a car because it had a pro-Clinton bumper sticker?
This is the first time I ever hear a claim like that. All the cases I have encountered is if liberals vandalizing cars because of pro-conservative bumper stickers.
Where is the evidence for your claim?
What I love about Thisainthell is the reasoned civil discourse
I will correct one thing you said PH 2 that Raqqa was freed by Iraqi National Army
Raqqa is in Syria and the heavy fighting was done by the Syrian Kurds
With the US providing air support
I believe I saw photos with Syrian Kurdish women fighters in Raqqa celebrating their victory.
But it looks like Raqqa itself is like Berlin at the end of WWII.
More like Warsaw.
Possibly. I don’t have any photos of Warsaw post-war. I think ‘Berlin’ because that is where my aunt and her mother were at the time. I have a video of her stories of trying to survive.
Dad was occupation forces in southern Germany after most of the shooting stopped, but there a pictures in the Company’s book of the towns they had to go through.
They all looked like Raqqa.
Sorry, my mistake. It’s hard to keep up with that stuff any more.
Behind every whiny ass #libidiot crying about how they are so oppressed and afraid of guns is a Patriot with a gun that will fight and die to give them the right to piss, moan and whine like a bitch…
Someone with mad Photoshop skilz needs to make this into a poster or meme.
Really set some liberal heads a-spinning.
For those of you so inclined, go on the utubes, and check out “epic rap battle: gun owner vs. liberal” more good work from Matt Best.. warning, it may make you laugh so hard you wet yourself…
I googled it. and watched it. that’s some funny shit right there, yessiree
You know, that is a really good idea …
Check out the photography of Oleg Volk. Very good stuff. His site is a veritable mine of high grade memes.
Gotta love Doc Mike!
Thunderstixx: What you said up above needs to be EVERYWHERE! Meme, T-shirt, bumbersticker, billboards!
With your permission; Im going to handpaint that as “nose art” on my sidecar this winter and cite the source. I will send you all the picture upon project completion.
So the short version is:
Enjoy the freedom that someone else earned, assholes. You’re Welcome.
Pretty much. They appear to have the spinal consistency of over-cooked pasta.
I do agree that the majority of Veteran’s are mostly republican, I’m a republican. The thing is today’s republicans aren’t to far away from the democrats ideologically. Also, my father who’s a retired seabee is one of the most democrat veteran’s I’ve personally known(we don’t talk much).
I don’t agree with point #1 because from my experience many people never joined the U.S. Army for patriotic reasons. I’ve know a few who joined because they needed a job, wanted the college money, etc…
I’m not sure if SF hates the the guy who is a democrat but I’ll take his word for it. Here’s one SF “woman”. Do they all hate her? – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kristin_Beck
His points sound about half right, so I wouldn’t say he speaks for me as a veteran. People can quickly find out on google or from personal relationships that many didn’t join the military for the right reason. I wouldn’t ever say that every person I knew in the military was there for patriotism. Maybe SF can say that, but then we have Bilzerian type people who probably did make it in.
A couple of nit-picks, lily.
I’d modify your 2nd sentence to “Many of today’s elected Republicans are not too far away from…” My evidence for the veracity this would be, first, the Tea Party phenomenon and, second, when that did not have the desired effect the Trump phenomenon.
In support of his point #1 I would say that much depends upon which MOS the person joining the army pursues, and to which units one seeks to transfer. My son and many of the guys in his Basic class joined to fight evil. He explicitly told his dying grandfather, who had fought Nazis in WWII, “I am going to be like you.” After he left Active duty and joined the Guard, he sought transfer as soon as possible to an Airborne Guard unit. I know a number of the men in that unit, and they all fit the description of Dr. Simpson’s, above.
Perhaps among the REMF there is a more liberal population, but they would not last for long among the men who willingly defend our freedom at the point of the spear.
Plus, one doesn’t pursue SF for college money or needed a job. If Sgt Johnson went SF I’m sure he had some intangible reasons for doing so.
It is my understanding that those in the Special Warfare groups tend to have higher IQs than average, as well.
Knowing multiple ranges, a wide application of mathematics and physics, and the other skills required of these warriors requires a greater natural ability to begin with.
It may be arguable that beyond the patriotism and the brotherhood, the desire to be the best one can be physically and mentally has an attraction for them.
Might also point out that Kirsten Beck did his entire service career as a man, and changed after leaving.
Beck ran as a Democrat in an election. I doubt Beck was hated by the other Navy Seals because She/it lasted 20 years in the Navy Seals. It may be a rarity but I’d say that’s just an easy thing to look up on google in response to point #3
Didn’t Beck run as an independent…unless you’re talking about a different endeavor.
http://www.watermarkonline.com/2013/11/20/kristen-beck-announces-then-fails-to-qualify-for-congressional-campaign/
Maybe because I was active duty in the 1990s to the early 2000s I saw more people come in who didn’t seem to be there for patriotism? A lot of those people weren’t REMFs but they weren’t SF either.
or maybe you’re deliberately choking on a mustard seed regarding the exception rather than a measure of central tendency, because that’s apparently what you do. He gave his opinion, he didn’t submit it for peer review. 🙂
Also FYI..Diane Schroer is actually a trans SF Soldier rather than calling a SEAL SF if ya want a more precisely correct example.
It would be interesting to know the number of Democrats serving in the military and what jobs they’re in.
I don’t know how close to the “tip of the spear” this would put me, but I was the REMF POG that repaired infantry and tanker commo and handed it back to them in a timely manner.
Preach it, Brother!!
I like this series of tweets….but politics will always be politics and each side will quickly utilize whichever segment of the population it can to attempt to score political points.
Both sides use the military as a talking point…even our POTUS told us all how he likes folks who don’t get captured to make a point about a political opponent.
I’d also point out that most politicians don’t really care what the military or its veterans/members think because they’re hardly a demographic that sways elections…knowing that most military members are Republican only makes it easier for Democrats to say and do what they like regarding the military because it carries zero risk of lost votes…and the closer you get to the tip of the spear those numbers get so small percentage wise as to be of absolutely no consequence to a politician.
Having said that, the Democrats have a much larger problem than using the military for political gain. They have no message that anyone wants to hear, and have been in that position for eight years as they’ve lost statehouses and governors races along with seats in DC throughout the last eight years.
With the current purge among the Democrats ousting the so-called progressive members of the party it would appear the current Democratic strategy would be to continue to offer no message and no real alternative to the Republicans other than a sort of Republican lite message. Which has proven relatively unimpressive these last eight years.
Well said VoV
What is this “purge among the Democrats ousting the so-called progressive members” of which you speak? Last I checked all the crypto commie progtards are still standard bearers for the Dhimmirat party. I haven’t heard anyone who is less leftard trying to displace Bernie, Fauxihontas, Pelousi, or their party chairman.
Well said and to the point
A few years ago there was an essay making the rounds written by a somewhat prominent anti-war protester during the ’60s. In it, apparently as a matter of angsty mid-life-crisis soul baring, he said that, as difficult as it was looking back honestly at things, a main driver of protestors such as he and his friends wasn’t all politics. It was cowardice.
Some people have a real aversion to physical risk, and tend to cloak it with loudly vocal claims to the moral and intellectual high ground. For them to acknowledge those in the military as mental equals might be to point out their own shortcomings. There’s apparently a faulty syllogism at work, but all the premises are, at least it seems to me, hard to define.
It wouldn’t surprise me if a large part of the cloistered academic community chose such a career path because it’s risk averse at multiple levels.
What’s also apparent is there’s sometimes an inability to recognize that risk can provide it’s own reward. It can be a tremendous rush, for one thing. Being able to handle it well is not something just anyone can do, for another.
None of which has anything to do with the military’s actual level of education or cognitive ability.
Well said!
Remember this?
http://media.patriotpost.us/img/ref/stuck_in_irak.jpg
That’s how they have felt about those that put on the uniform for years… they just have to let their “feelings” out every so often, because they are the “smarter” ones…
I heard they caught some shit for doing that. Their “brave” chain of command was less than thrilled that picture made it onto the interwebs.
Don’t need to say much. Doc speaks for me.
My son is a junior in college, they’re filling his head with all that liberal BS, thisphobic, thatphobic, white privilege crap. He came home and told me I’d spent my two tours in the ME raping and pillaging Iraq; I laughed at him and told him, “Boy, if that was true you’d be living in an f-ing mansion someplace warm paying full price for your college.” That pissed him off, and when I suggested he should tell the VA he wasn’t going to accept the money they send him to help him pay for school because of what I did to earn it he wasn’t up for that either. Sent him Doc’s thoughts this morning, that mushroom cloud you might have seen this morning was the boy’s head exploding, I think he may have finally figured out what they’ve been telling him about us was a load of crap.
Here’s hoping the sees the truth.
It is becoming more and more evident that one has to be very cautious about what schools ones’ children attend. Too many give indoctrinations rather than educations.
Agree 100%. my daughter is a perfect example of that. Thankfully my son is going to an AG junior college, where they focus much more on facts.. the logistics and mathematics involved with running a feedlot for example cannot be based in fantasy.
It’s a nice rant, and fun to read but I’m not sure how representative it is of the military as a whole. SF? Yes, certainly, but the military as a whole? As far as #1 goes, in 1980 I was just another suburban kid, tired of the boring, safe life I had been living and with absolutely ZERO desire to get on the same treadmill as my high school classmates: College, marriage, entry level white collar job working for Consolidated Widget, house in the ‘burbs, station wagon and a dog. That just had no appeal to me. I wanted something different. I didn’t know what, but I wanted to go places, to see things, and to have a little excitement, a little danger in my life. It didn’t hurt that my father had served in the Army in the 1950’s and 60’s (I was born in an Army hospital in Germany) and served several tours in Vietnam. Dad was an officer and got out as a captain to pursue a civilian career but the military was always held in high regard in our family. And it wasn’t just the regard. Dad had stories.
