GOP promotes their own stimulous plan

| January 30, 2009

According to the Washington Times, the Congressional Republicans have decided to act like participants in the process rather than just an ideological barricade to the Democrats’ massive implementation of their their socialist programs;

House Republicans, leery of being labeled naysayers after rejecting the $819 billion economic rescue bill, are launching a district-by-district message campaign to promote their own stimulus bill and highlight the huge taxpayer debt amassed by the Democrats’ spending plan.

The data, including a calculation of the debt load that the House-passed plan would heap on each congressional district, is being disseminated by the Republican National Campaign Committee (NRCC) through blogs, talk radio and local media in the districts of vulnerable Democrats.

“We plan to make the case on a micro level that targeted tax relief and eliminating wasteful spending in any stimulus bill is the right way forward for America,” said Brad Dayspring, a spokesman for House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, Virginia Republican.

That’s how they’ll bring me back to the party – actually provide an opposing plan to give Americans a choice between parties. It’s an especially effective plan when the Democrats are sending gumballs like this to get their particular message out (found at Ace of Spades);

Apparently, all of the wasteful spending that get pointed out to them is a “red herring”. Seems to me that they’d remove all of the “red herrings”, clean up the bill and produce something that doesn’t have “red herrings” in it rather than try to shove it down our throats and be condescending about our the way our money is spent.

Of course.hyperpartisans like Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post think the wasteful spending isn’t reason enough to vote against the Democrats’ bloated proposal;

Watching the House Republicans vote unanimously against President Obama’s economic stimulus package, I thought of Ronald Reagan, the air traffic controllers and the potential consequences for those who fail to recognize that one political era has given way to the next.

As long as these anti-intellectuals are the folks who Democrats are mobilizing to get their message out, the Republicans might have a chance to attract Conservatives back to the party.

Wow… I think “Karen” should cut back on her meds. LOL

Dam

Cut back on her meds? Wow, then she’d be a screamer instead of a zombie. It’s her meds that are keeping her on an even, zombie-like, keel

Don’t ya love how Dem spokespeople always turn interviews into monologues and rants? How they NEVER answer direct questions?

That’s all I have time for. It’s damn cold today and my honeybees are not feeling well. If they die from the temps, I’ll need some of that insurance.

haha, Dems should stop using doped-up housewives as public spokesman. Liberals are picking up on the talking point that us “right-wingers” are getting too hung up on the porkiness of this beast. Well these red herrings of a billion here and a billion there….that shit will add up! Talk about Trojan Horse politics.

Ace seems to have gone down for the long count.

He will be missed.

Looks like the Dems are organizing. I recieved this email from my good friend Mitch:

Friend —

Last year, America lost 2.6 million jobs. This week, some of our biggest companies announced plans to cut tens of thousands more.

The economic crisis is deepening, but President Obama and members of Congress have proposed a recovery plan that will put more than 3 million Americans back to work.

You can learn more about how the plan will help your community by organizing an Economic Recovery House Meeting.

Join thousands of people across the country who are coming together to watch a special video about the recovery plan. Invite your friends and neighbors to watch the video with you and have a conversation about your community’s economic situation.

The economic crisis can seem overwhelming and complex, but you can help the people you know connect the recovery plan to their lives and learn more about why it’s so important.

Sign up to host an Economic Recovery House Meeting the weekend of Friday, February 6th.

The President’s plan passed the House of Representatives on Wednesday. But if it’s going to move forward, we need to avoid the usual partisan games.

That’s why supporters are opening their homes to talk with neighbors and friends about how the plan will work — and what it means for their community.

GOP'er

Skye…you are simply ravishing 🙂

“the economic crisis is deepening, but President Obama and members of Congress have proposed a recovery plan that will put more than 3 million Americans back to work”. And yet, the CBO spokesman who testified to Congress said that he doesn’t know when or if the bill will create a single job!! Marvelous. Spend it like you print it, if it doesn’t create jobs, who cares, at least the people will know they care.
Less than half of the $355 billion for infrastructure will be spent by 2010, according to the Congressional Budget Office. But the dems want to take over health care right away. That’ll create a lot of jobs.

UpNorth: Why not organize home meetings to discuss in detail the multitude of prolems contained in the Obama economic plan. This is a marvelous opportunity to use the formidable Obama grassroot tools to help the GOP’s stimulus plan.
