Too much spending?

| January 28, 2009

The Associated Press mischaracterizes what Congressman John Boehner said in their article about his opposition to the spending priorities of the Obama stimulus bill. Here’s their headline;

What he actually says in the article is;

[Boehner] said the bill before lawmakers for a vote Wednesday contains spending that “has nothing to do with creating jobs or preserving jobs.”

Obviously, wasteful spending is his main concern – you know, important stuff like millions for ACORN, millions for planting trees around government office buildings, important stuff like that. Here’s some more from the Columbus Dispatch;

But some of the biggest winners in the package are federal agencies. The Social Security Administration would get $400 million to replace its 30-year-old computer system. The Agricultural Research Service would receive $209 million for maintenance at its facilities. The General Services Administration would get $600 million to replace its older fleet of vehicles with alternative-fuel cars and trucks.

Some real important stuff while people are out of jobs. Boehner’s not worried about the LEVEL of spending, he’s worried about the TYPES of spending. If only the rest of the politicians in Washington worried about that aspect of spending.

Mr. Lilyea, sir: Mr. Boehner is not a senator. He’s the Republican Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, and be characterized as either “Representative,” “Congressman” or “House Minority Leader.”

The lefties are saying it’s not enough!!! And they still want the COW to be “right”.
This thing will be the mother of all failures to the administration and the Country. I have said from the get-go that the COW is a one-termer. This would seal it.
