…and This Just In

| May 18, 2017

It seems that Fatty Kim da T’ird, a/k/a NDtBF, is getting more and more annoyed that we aren’t paying enough attention to him.

First, he sends a butthurt letter to Congress complaining about it.

Now he’s got Seattle, WA, upset.  As you know already, Seattle is the home of Microsoft, Amazon and Boeing (which is considering moving everything to Illinois).  But because the Cold War ended before some of you were born, Seattle is also the babysitter for 1,300 nuclear warheads, per this AOL article. I’m trying to remember if there was a SAC base there in the long ago, when I lived 10 miles from a Soviet ICBM target city.

https://www.aol.com/article/news/2017/05/17/seattle-prepares-nuclear-attack-north-korea/22096104/

Washington State has a law that prevents planning for a nuclear attack. You can plan for evacuation, but in this day and age, do we really need it? However, despite its inland location, Seattle considers itself to be a prime target for the Cheeseslayer’s nuclear missiles (which haven’t worked so far), and there is legislation on the books to change the ‘no planning’ law to ‘plan for’, because one state legislator says it’s ‘silly’ to not plan for it.

Note that, according to this Express/UK article, down the page, the Chubster fired off another ballistic missile on Sunday. Per his own announcement, it’s capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.

http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/805758/North-Korea-USA-live-latest-news-updates-Kim-Jong-un-missile-test-Donald-Trump-war

China has also entered into this boiling turmoil by lodging complaints against the US in regard to penalties on Chinese and Iranian figures. The fact that ‘figures’ is not defined could mean anything.

Since we’re doing business with China on a large scale, this needs to be addressed. It’s more important than two scoops of ice cream, isn’t it? Oh, sorry – I forgot that our media report on nothing and make a mountain out of a dimple in a sandbox.

My concern is that Kim Nodong-at-all is getting his shorts in a bunch over the lack of attention from the US, specifically. There is some suspicion that Norkiland was behind the WannaCry ransomware attack last week. The NYT has an article discussing the possibility that Norkiland was involved in the cyberhacking through sleeper cells. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/16/world/asia/north-korea-cyber-sleeper-cells-ransomware.html?_r=0

Yesterday, Norkiland launched a ferry service to Vladivostok, to try to develop economic cooperation between Russia and the Norks.

There’s a good timeline of Nork-related activities listed in the Express/UK article, events which are not being reported in most of the US media outlets, to their shame. It appears that how much ice cream one person gets, or what kind of salad dressing, is more important than events underway in the real world.

I think Fairchild was the nearest SAC base. How much cash do you think it would take to get him to Nuke Seattle and DC? I’ve got some loose change rolling around on the floor of my car.

UpNorth

Bezos deserves whatever happens to him, Amazon and the WaPo.

Atkron

You can have all those snobby hipster Amazon employees…take Microsoft and Kshawna Sawant while you’re at it.

desert

But first….BUTT FIRST? ok, how about Microsoft send a bad bug to phat buoy and wipe out his computer system, then he can’t launch anymore duds? 😉

rgr769

If it wasn’t a SAC base, it sure had a lot of B-52’s parked on aprons all over the base back in the late 1960’s.

Jus Bill

Fairchild was a SAC base. Back when there was a SAC.

OldSoldier54

I do, too.

USAFRetired

We do have one. It is Global Strike Command. They have OpCon of the nuclear triad.

AO2(NAC)

Hay!!! I live here!

Yeah, Trident boats in Bangor and the fleet at Bremerton, a nuke carrier in Everett and Ft. Lewis and McChord AFB (JBLM).. Also the NAS at Whidbey Island

desert

NO…don’t waste it! use it on New Yuck and Chicago!! with a side trip to DC!!

Graybeard

Washington State has a law that prohibits planning for a nuclear attack? That’s all Californicated up.

And the MSM is losing market share so fast that they don’t even notice.

OldManchu

So does one go to jail if they prep or install a bunker?

Will Seattle law enforcement go Ruby Ridge on their ass?

USAFRetired

I believe they are referring to Navy Boomers (SSBN) homeported at Bangor WA. Not sure where the Weapon Station for that homeport is.

Fairchild is an AMC Base these days with Tanker aircraft only.

Silentium Est Aureum

I’ll just say that there’s a VERY good reason why if you’re going from upper base to lower (Delta Pier, EHW) you follow the signs that say you do NOT get out of your car for any reason.

Atkron

Let’s see we have NS Bremerton, NS Everett, JB Lewis-McChord, Fairchild AFB, Yakima Training Center, and NAS Whidbey Island.

Yet, I have heard nothing in any of the local news about this, so the fits must be small compared to the Seattle Mayor Ed ‘The Pedo’ Murray’s plan to tax soda @ $1.25.

AW1Ed

NUWC* Keyport, too.

*Navy Undersea Warfare Center

Atkron

Oh yeah…I forgot those silly submarines.

AW1Ed

I’d tell you what they do there, but, well, you know.

*grin*

Atkron

Boeing going to Illinois?

Nah, just the HQ is all that will ever go there. Maybe Charleston SC will get more build work…but I don’t see Boeing totally leaving the PNW. Too many part assemblies come here from Asia to make it affordable to move all production to the mid-west. Boeing selling off it’s Wichita Operations to Spirit is a prime indicator.

Devtun

What about taxes? I think Wash State generally has much friendlier tax laws.

Atkron

Well, we did give away the farm, the mule, and the chicken in order to keep the 777X here.

Roger in Republic

That is true in regards to Boeing. not so much for the rest of us.

26Limabeans

I like Trump’s (Mattis’s) game.
Make the little bastard have a massive stroke.

IMHO the sooner Kim-Cheese kicks the bucket from natural causes, the better.

AW1Ed

Does it have to be natural?

*grin*

Doesn’t matter to me at all, dead is dead.

Oopsie … wrong brackets.

But, butt, but don’t hate the commie; don’t fear the commies. I guess it is still too early for you know who.

And today’s prize for the use of the greatest number of monikers goes to (drum roll, please) … PH2.

Fairchild had BUF’s as late as 78′ which was the last time I was there, probably much later. Spokane is quite a distance from Seattle but does anyone really think the Air Force would leave their nuc’s at a closed base? 337th Fighter Wing at Portland Intl Aprt had nuclear tipped AIM missiles until the base closed then the FANG (i.e. “friendly” Air National Guard) probably got them. The Navy probably has nuc missiles for their subs at Bremerton.

Fairchild had BUFFs into the mid 90s. Remember the fatal crash in 94 when the dipshit pilot over performed the aircraft practicing for an airshow and killed all aboard. Turns out he had a history of such boneheaded stunts and no one called him on it.

The AIR-2A Genie rockets went out of the inventory in the mid 80s. The F-106 was the last to have them. The 106s were retired not long after. The withdrawal of the AIR-2A sounded taps for the permanent NORAD presence flying routinely on the CONUS based E-3 AWACS. The NORAD Det at Tinker was around for a while more but was downsized/downgraded.

USAFRetired

PH2 In a nutshell there was a failure in Senior leadership. One of the other fatalities in the crash was the Commander of the Bomb Squadron that owned the planes and the flying mission. He has tried to have Holland grounded, unsuccessfully as recently as a couple months prior. As he couldn’t get backing from senior leadership he did one of the few things he could do. He forbade any of his younger pilots from flying with Holland. So when Holland was selected to fly the airshow and practices, he flew as the co-pilot. I f you look closely at the video, just before impact you can see the co-pilots hatch departing the aircraft which tells me that the co-pilot had initiated the ejection sequence, just too late.

I don’t know about Buffs, but the E-3 AWACS did have a cockpit voice recorder and when we lost one in Elmendorf about 15 months later we got to hear the final moments of that fatal crash as part of the accident review. So some of the larger aircraft have them.

Jonp

Isn’t it nice of Fatty McDipshit to line up all of those tanks on a beach out in the open for target practice? Such a bother to go look for them

Just An Old Dog

Not to nit pick but pretty sure they are self propelled Artillery pieces.
Probably staged prior to one of their parades.

Jonp

Oh, your probably right. Im looking at the picture on a fire and it wasnt too clear
