A crew of three also makes it look like a Blackhawk.

Dang.
Best wishes to the injured crewmembers, and prayers for the family of the deceased.
“About 1 o’clock we had a Black Hawk helicopter come over and he was kind of flying sideways, pretty low, and then as we got out on the deck watching it, he got treetop level and all of a sudden we saw the tail spin up and just spinning around and we heard him go down.” Witness Mike Harvey
Tail rotor. He was probably autorotating at that point, trying to kill the torque and putting the bird down. If so, it had to end badly and it’s a small miracle anyone is alive.
Tail rotor failure.
One of the worst things that can happen when flying a helicopter.
God bless the crew and their families. May you rest in peace brother.
Just up the road from La Casa de AW1Ed. On a good note, the local hospital is literally 5 minutes away, and that’s by ground transport. Hope the crewmember heals quickly and well.
Just read the update. Fair winds and following seas, Aviator.
UGGGHHHH!!!! Praying for the surviving crew members and all three families. From the family member of a former Black Hawk pilot.
I know a good amount of people that push stick on Blackhawks. Every one of them is a fine example of what Man is capable of, in air, as a member of a team, and as a leader of their families.
I wish the crazy lot of them the best, my heart and thoughts go out to the family.
Very sad news.
Prayers for all the crew and their families.
Prayers for all involved, and their families.
Agree on prayers for the crew and Sierra-Hotel to the pilot(s) for getting it on the ground. But watch and see, the f’in golfers are going to blame the course manager for their green not being ready when their tee time comes up.
More proof that it is a dangerous business we choose.
Rest easy Trooper, mission accomplished, good job.
Prayers for all of them and all of the families.
Why couldn’t O’Bummer have been on that green and under that helicopter when it came down?
Why? He’s already gone. What’s the point?
