Airmen buy teen for $20
Several people have sent us links to the story of Airman First Class Dalian Washington, 25, and Airman First Class Akeem Beazer, 21 who bought a runaway teenage girl for $20 and kept her in the barracks;
Washington was charged with sex trafficking of a child and sexual abuse of a minor while Beazer was charged with sexual abuse of a minor.
The girl told investigators that she ran away from home in September 2016 when she was 15, met with a man she knew and told him she needed a place to stay. The man offered to hook her up with a friend of his who was an airman but said she would have to have sex with him.
Washington is accused of picking up the girl at the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles office here from a man he believed to be her pimp. He paid $20, according to the complaint.

Washington reportedly took the girl to his dorm room on base, where she stayed off and on for several months and had unprotected sex with him several times.
The airman is accused of enlisting Beazer to help look after the girl, according to the complaint. Then Beazer also began having sex with her.
Both airmen brought the girl food from the dining hall, the complaint stated.

When I served we still had the draft and you got all kinds, hell if you had a pulse you qualified, but I honestly expect better from an all volunteer military, and certainly more from our recruiters.

There was something similar happened back at Whiteman when I was in, and a fellow Defender no less. He had a 16yo girl that ran away from the Springfield area, hiding out in his barracks room. Don’t recall what happened to him for it, so unfortunately it couldn’t have been enough

Deplorable, the biggest difference is that you, I, and so many others would have done the same because we were raised with morals and a sense of what’s right. So many of the new kids in the military don’t have any, and they aren’t teaching it in basic now since it’s deemed intolerable treatment. I saw it before I retired in 2013 with some of the kids that were arriving fresh from basic and tech school and seriously wondered how they made it that far without someone taking them to task. Problem is that they, like a great many in our current culture, feel that “the man” owes them something thanks to some previous White House leadership examples.

They might have had an adjoining latrine to two rooms. Tough call because they keep changing things. I know for the Army they have barracks rooms like that.
Though being the Air Force, I’d bet they have solo rooms with their own latrines.

To me, a barracks consists of bays where dozens of men have bunks. A dormitory, on the other hand, consists of dozens of individual rooms where one or two people have beds and dressers. Speaking of barracks, that word looks frighteningly and sickeningly familiar.
I think that most Airmen live in dormitories after they complete their initial training. That was pretty much standard already when I was on AD.
That is what the military should be, barracks with bays for squads or platoons. Not this college style dormitory shit. The Spartans and the Roman legionaires would be ashamed of what our military has become. The SJW’s and their ilk have pussified our armed forces. It only gets worse every year.
It ain’t the SJWs. If you want a volunteer military you have to pay the price. I, for one, am unwilling to pay the price.

NCO – Enlisted relationships tend to vary a lot in different services and command climates. I can recall one place I worked in the 90s where you needed actual GO approval to extend the duty day past 1700 and Brigade Commander approval to conduct an unscheduled room inspection. There was all kinds of hamstringing at the upper levels. Then there would be a command level freak out pointing fingers at powerless NCOs when stuff was found screwed up.
Some of that stuff fell off after 9/11 then started creeping back in 2010+. No clue what it looks like these days.
