Tuesday morning feel good stories
Slim pickings today;
The young man in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma who shot three intruders last week with his scary black rifle will not be prosecuted according to the Wagoner County District Attorney’s Office yesterday;
The sheriff’s office held a joint news conference Monday with the DA’s office regarding last week’s deadly break-in. The DA’s office also said three first-degree murder charges were filed against the woman who admitted to planning the burglary.
“The facts in this case are very solid,” said Sheriff Chris Elliot.
Unfortunately, the homeowner in Belfaire, Washington, who we talked about last week, has been arrested for shooting an intruder he found taking a shower on his property. The police say that the homeowner fired his gun four times through the shower curtain and that he wasn’t in danger at the time of the shooting.

The burglar in Belfaire probably left the cap off of the toothpaste tube. No jury would convict the owner after hearing that.
He should NOT have shot him! He should have thrown a plugged in radio into the shower and watched the dance!! 😉
Good call by the cops and prosecutors on the Broken Arrow incident.
The Belfaire incident, on the other hand, sounds like a bad shoot. If the guy had time to go next door and retrieve a gun, he had time to call the cops, and clearly was not in imminent danger.
I’d have to ask why the homeowner in Washington didn’t call the cops first, too.
Meanwhile, in Arkansas we have this guy making gun owners look incompetent: http://www.fox16.com/news/local-news/man-accidentally-shoots-himself-in-testicle-in-lr-hotel/686327797
Well, we must admit that there are some incompetents in all areas.
They just seem to have a higher population density in politics and bureaucracies.
Gives new meaning to “junk gun”….
First, I didn’t think newsmen had testicles! 2nd, he said he “mishandled his 9mm”…well, like they said in the Marine cadence, “this is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for fighting, this is for fun”….guess he forgot which was which! 😉
I was never too concerned about the police/DA decision in Broken Arrow. For all we Texans give the Okies grief, they at least use what is between their ears for more than a hat rack.
I do hope they have a good counseling program for him. An employee of mine some 30 years ago had to shoot a burglar, and the Houston PD had a support program for him to help him come to grips with it. It was pretty good – and I was pleasantly surprised that the program existed. I think the young hero is going to need something similar.
So much for “I won’t take responsibility for the murders, I won’t. I feel guilty, but I don’t feel responsible.” Responsibility just got forced on her. And all a lawyer could do for her at this point is maybe some damage control.
A good lawyer would tell her to shut her trap.
