As long as the open thread is here, I did spend about 30 minutes on the phone yesterday with the FBI in DC. I had made two calls over the last two months to the NM office regarding my pos brother, David “Doc” Shrum. At least the guy in DC actually took down the information I was giving me and put me on hold a couple of times for a few minutes, I hope he was checking out my information? The strange thing is, he said they will not return calls and give me any kind of status on the investigation into all of his fraud bullshit! What does it take to get anyone to take action and arrest this sack of shit!

The Vice President of the company has his 61st birthday coming up in mid March, and I have no idea what to get him. I was thinking of getting him a watch, but then I realized that it is not as if he has to be anywhere at a specific time to attend a business meeting. Maybe a gift certificate to a local Goodwill store. I hear that they have real bargains there; I know a guy that purchased a few suits there for $5 each.

Hate to be serious, but could use some help. Two young teens were killed recently near Delphi, IN while hiking a nature trail. 14-year-old Libby German obviously saw that something bad was about to happen, and had the clarity, courage, and composure to not only activate the video feature on her phone, but to hide it after getting some video, and it recorded all that happened to her and her 13-year-old friend Abby Williams. The police and FBI are trying to get the photo and a short loop of audio (all they plan to release for now) hoping someone, somewhere, will be able to identify either. They want it out nationwide, as this may be someone not from the area. All joking aside, I have a story to tell you all. I’m sorry about being a bit long winded on this. I’m keeping names, places, etc., generic because I’m waiting to see how this plays out. On Monday, I called one of my buddies (retired from Army Reserves but also served active duty Navy prior to his reserve time) just to see what was happening in his world. He lives about 30 minutes from me. He is also the sec/treasurer for his local small town AMVETS chapter. We BS’ed for a bit & he said he had someone at his door. We hung up and then about an hour later he called back. The first thing out of his face was….”I just had the guts kicked out of me”. A bit of background. My buddy introduced me to his Chapter’s present Commander a few years back at this person’s bar/restaurant, and told me this guy was a former Navy SEAL. I never met a SEAL before, so I was pretty impressed. This guy is a loud, boisterous type person and told me he was also a Viet vet. I had on occasion since, visited this place a number of times with my buddy & his wife for a meal. This guy was impressive. He did a lot of good things for area vets, gave free 1 year AMVET memberships to newly joined folk, said the Lord’s Prayer at a couple of gatherings before the meal, and seemed to be a decent guy. Back in last year July, he just received two awards from the State AMVET’s and also and was elected State Pro Marshal. Back to my buddy. Turns out that that it was the new incoming Commander and said that someone had anonymously sent in info that this guy wasn’t who he said he was. Turns out he was never a Navy SEAL, although he had three years active duty in the Navy for three years and left as an E-3. Friday evening’s dinner will be:
Chicken Piccata with Pasta & Mushrooms
Ingredients
• ⅓ cup all-purpose flour, divided
• 2 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth
• ½ cup white wine
• 2 teaspoons butter
• 6 ounces whole-wheat angel hair pasta
• ½ teaspoon salt, divided
• ¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
• 4 chicken cutlets, ( ¾-1 pound total), trimmed
• 3 large cloves garlic, minced
• 1 10-ounce package mushrooms, sliced
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
• ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
• 2 tablespoons capers, rinsed
Preparation
1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until just tender, 4 to 6 minutes or according to package directions. Drain and rinse.
2. Meanwhile, whisk 5 teaspoons flour and broth in a small bowl until smooth. Place the remaining flour in a shallow dish. Season chicken with ¼ teaspoon salt and pepper and dredge both sides in the flour. Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and no longer pink in the middle, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate; cover and keep warm.
3. Heat the remaining 1 teaspoon oil in the pan over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring, until they release their juices and begin to brown, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a plate. Add garlic and wine to the pan and cook until reduced by half, 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in the reserved broth-flour mixture, lemon juice and the remaining ¼ teaspoon salt. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring, until the sauce is thickened, about 5 minutes.
4. Stir in parsley, capers, butter and the reserved mushrooms. Measure out ½ cup of the mushroom sauce. Toss the pasta in the pan with the remaining sauce. Serve the pasta topped with the chicken and the reserved sauce.

So the DNC has elected former Secretary of Labor Perez to take their helm while he chose Ellison to be his second fiddle. So now they have a Marxist and a owed racist at their wheel with a Muslim who is affiliated with tha Nation of Islam next to him, it looks like they’re still plunging off the proverbial cliff as fast and hard as they can!
They’re running scared, API. I expect to see more turmoil and more arrests like the January stuff.
Google and YouTube and others are trying to stifle opposite opinions by refusing to place ads by Infowars and Breitbart. Stuff like that. Now while no one is obligated to carry your ad placements, it does smack of strident hypocrisy that InfoWars and others were OK before the November election and now are not.
The are getting started early, I see, on supporting the Trump 2020 campaign.
I heard that the DNC honchos have forwarded the idea of Al Franken and Jill Stein on their Presidential Ticket next time around, they want FRANKEN – STEIN 2020.

I have no real issue with either of them personally as I do not know really all that much about them.
What I do find interesting is the fact that the Democratic Party got routed (and that is a nice way of saying it) in the election(s) and they still have not figured it out.
The Old Guard (Pelosi, etc.) hanging on, divisiveness in the ranks, liberals attacking moderate democratic (and mostly decent in some cases) politicians because they are willing to work with the status quo, inability to galvanize and push a position in a logical manner outside of protests and of course, my favorite, the newly elected chair stepping and trashing the Trump establishment without even knowing what is going on (and a lot of GOP folks trash Trump as well).
Liberals versus Democrats. And most of the players are still sounding off. And these are the very same players that helped (in some cases) create and facilitate the demise of their party due to ignorance, greed, radical feminism, apathy and lack of tolerance for others with different beliefs.
And lets not forget the media. After a eight year break they now find themselves working overtime to assist their brethren in the political arena. just like in March Madness, it ain’t over until its over. They should have followed that in the election.
But don’t sweat it! In the end, its someone else fault! Political and Economic Liberalism 101!
I would be curious if the status quo in the party establishment had a figure or number for all of those that have abandoned the party because of the infighting? Loosely translated, all Liberals are Democrats but not all Democrats are Liberals. They seem to have forgotten this…..

Late in the weekend, but I just tuned into an ad that is somewhere between hilarious and disturbing. Had heard it before, but never listened to it until a few minutes ago.
There’s this fat Boo Boo kid screeching (sounding sort of like a used car salesman) about her fat mother’s new reality show where she apparently lost some weight and had some restoration work done.
It’s funny because I have no idea why I should care, and disturbing because enough people must care to make it worthwhile making whatever it is. Why?
Oh, well. Another one of those things I will not be watching.
