Monday morning feel good stories
Yesterday’s story from Escambia County, Florida was updated with change of status of the intruder to DOT (dead over there) at the hospital.
Police think that a thief is wounded in Covington, Georgia after a gunfight between the criminal and a business owner. The criminal took the business owner’s keys and wallet before the owner could get to a gun in his glove compartment and open fire. Neither the owner nor his employee were injured in the encounter.
Armed gas station employees in New Orleans, Louisiana thwarted a thief. When 28-year-old David Vaughn approached the counter, he showed his gun to the clerk – the clerk showed Vaughn his gun and led him out of the store. When Vaughn returned, two other employees attacked him and took his gun from him. Police arrested him at the hospital where he was being treated for his new gun shot wound.
In Danville, Virginia, a 71-year-old man fought off an intruder with gunfire while being wounded himself.

Just because someone knocks at your door, it doesn’t mean that you have to answer. Typically at our house unexpected knocking is ignored, or, if answered, the person opening the door is armed.
