Sergeant Julian Prezas pleads guilty

Julian Prezas

Army recruiter Sergeant Julian Prezas pleaded guilty to trafficking in arms to Mexican drug cartels according to UPI.

U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia will sentence Prezas on March 23. Prezas admitted to acquiring 42 guns but a co-defendant who turned into an informant for agents working with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said Prezas sold him up to 74 weapons, including AR-15s and AK-47s.

“It is, therefore, the recommendation of the Magistrate Judge that the guilty plea be acceptted and that a judgment of guilt be entered against the defendant,” Judge Henry J. Bemporad wrote in a court document.

During an investigation, ATF agents used a confidential informant to buy weapons from Prezas in August 2015. The informant told Prezas the weapons would be smuggled into Mexico for the Gulf Cartel. In the plea agreement, Prezas said he and three other U.S. servicemen bought at least 42 guns to smuggle.

Federal officers arrested Prezas in September 2015 while he carried 17 guns he was selling to the ATF informant.

From Fox News;

A lawyer for Prezas says he’s a decorated veteran who misunderstood regulations over the sale of guns.

I’m sure he misunderstood regulations that prohibit selling guns to criminals across the border. Good luck with that, Prezas.

When those bars slam behind you and you know they won’t open in the evening to let you go home….

it’s crying time again.

Lying ASSHOLE lawyers, he “misunderstood the rules of “selling ” US GOV T Property? MY ASS, hang that damned lawyer right next to the traitorous mexican!!

When I was a newly-minted soldier, just arrived at Fort Stewart, there was training on SAEDAA – sedition and espionage directed against America. (We even received a bright red SAEDAA card for our wallets.)

One of the topics covered was “Someone approaches you to do something a little sketchy. This is to compromise you for further blackmail. The initial dirty deed has nothing to do with sedition or espionage. It is just a crime to get you dirty, so you can be exploited for worse things.”

Did that fall off the map of “Soldier 101”? Or is this guy just box-o-rocks stupid?

Of course, is one is -already- dirty, and likes it….

desert

You are right “box o rocks stupid”, and greedy, the dollars were more important, than honor, duty, love of country, integrity on and on ad nauseum!

The Other Whitey

Fuck this guy.

One dirtbag down, many more to go. I wonder if any of the dirtbags involved in Operation Fast & Furious will ever face justice for what they did?

The Other Whitey

How about the asshole who ordered it?

A Proud Infidel®™

Absolutely, I’d love to see that wino scrotum-sniffer face justice for that while still in this life.

“Misunderstood regulations over the sale of guns”.

Bullshit.

I’m sure he’ll “misunderstand” Bubba, Thor, Julio and Mr. “Tiny’s” intentions when they “greet” to his new home in March…

nbcguy54ACTUAL

Supposedly this dude did this while assigned as a recruiter here in Slammintonio. Musta been a real go-getter if he was making missions and running guns.

Weekend Warrior in Texas

Some of the youngsters in my Guard unit know this guy, and are expressing surprise about this. I am not acquainted with him, and when I first heard about this, I was hoping it was some other prick I had a run-in with many moons ago. This guy apparently some sort of super trooper, but evidently a scumbag under all the hookah. Fucking jerk.

Have fun in federal PMITA prison, bitch. You might want to keep that sweet beard, tho, as a way to cushion all those ballsacks that’ll be banging into your chin.

Duane

I’m thinking his first night in prison will be like the scene in Shawshank Redemption – crying “I Don’t Belong Here”. I don’t know how many times in my 30 year career we were briefed about selling weapons, and I’m sure that recruiters get that and many other briefings as well. You went for the almighty $$, so hope Tiny and Bubba treat you well. You deserve it!

The Other Whitey

Why would you need a briefing to tell you not to break the law?

Veritas Omnia Vincit

For the exact same reasons you need one to remind you that sexually harassing women isn’t socially or legally acceptable…of course the senior officer corps needs some of those sexual predator classes as much or more than the enlisted troops…

Skippy

Total SHITSTAIN enjoy the bob wire hotel…
my guess is obama will pardon him before he leaves office

rgr769

But, but he isn’t a violent criminal. His non-violent crime isn’t any worse than selling crack or meth, is it? And besides he is a “decorated” war vet like Bergboi; so maybe King Putt can pardon them both at the same time for their non-violent crimes. The consequences of what they did are irrelevant, according to their “lawers.”

Hack Stone

How many awards do you need to be considered “highly decorated”? When the DRG finally nails me for all the crimes that I have committed against society, be sure that they describe me as “moderately decorated”.

OldManchu

ptsd made him do it

ex-OS2

He will soon understand what “suck my cock now, bitch” means.

Along with “BEND OVER AND PICK UP THE SOAP, BITCH!!!!”.

“A lawyer for Prezas says he’s a decorated veteran who misunderstood regulations over the sale of guns”

According to the full article, Prezas didn’t seem to have a problem understanding how strawman purchases work.

Deckie

I’d be embarrassed even as a defense attorney with nothing on the line putting forth a stupid defense like that.

jonp

It’s the defense attorneys job to come up with something and if that is the best he/she could do then they are in deep shit

jonp

“I had no idea it might be illegal to sell almost 100 guns to Mexican Cartels and have them smuggled over the border for use in the Narco War, my PTSD clouded my judgement”

Good luck with that line of defense, asshat.

If he is still active then wouldn’t the military have jurisdiction first or have they washed their hands of him?

11b-mailclerk

It is -far- less paperwork to declare him AWOL, then deserter, and put out the “please return it when found”,

Versus all the paperwork to investigate, prosecute, convict, transfer, and imprison.

All of that latter is still on the table, when he gets out of civvy lockup. But some other officers, and other clerks, get the work.

timactual

A recruiter, eh? (smiles)

Je me souviens.
