Monday morning feel good stories
At a restaurant in Anniston, Alabama, Malachi Hicks waited for the business to close until he tried to rob the evening’s take from employees with his handgun. One employee ran to his parent’s car where they were waiting to take him home and told them of the robbery. The employee’s father intervened in the robbery with his .45 caliber handgun. He shot Malachi multiple times. Hicks is currently in stable condition at the hospital.
One of the children in a Lubbock, Texas home woke his parents when he heard someone break into their house. The father confronted the intruder with a firearm as the criminal poured lighter fluid on the floor of the abode. The father warned the crook that he was armed, but when the thug approached him, the father feared for his life and shot him in the stomach. The crook is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the hospital.
The Franklin County, Washington prosecutor determined that Corey Chapman was in reasonable fear of injury when he shot Travis Yeates in July, so Chapman won’t be prosecuted for shooting DRT the drunken sot when Yeates forced his way into Chapman’s home.

3 intrusions, 3 bad guys shot, one of them becoming worm food. That is how defense of oneself, family and others is done, people. Not warning shots, not 911 phone calls, not firing blindly. Put the bullets where they will work, dead center on the bad guy, or if you are sure enough of yourself, dead center on his pumpkin, because nothing stops a criminal like a cranial exit wound.
Wait…..what? Shot multiple times, with a .45, and being cared for in a hospital? What’s wrong with this picture?
FMJ vs Hydro shock?
It looks like the POI was all abdomen or lower abdomen. While in the field that can eventually lead to a painful death, unless the artery is punctured (center of abdomen by the spine) it is not necessarily fatal.
Although that is one way to ensure that the perp is [no longer] full of crap.
I should amend that:
I conflated two reports. But it would be a guess that the POI was abdominal area. FMJ rather than some modern defensive ammo may also be involved.
I’ll bet the father is still saying “Yeah, .45 ACP will knock him down and he’ll never get up again.” /sarc
Waiting for Malachi’s friends and family to tell us what a good boy he is and that the shooter should have just minded his own business.

Was that fellow in Lubbok trying to mimic the infamous Lubbock Lights from the 1950s?
What a dipstick!
