Range 15 is #1

Range 15 trailer

The Army Times reports that “Range 15”, the veteran-funded movie, made for veterans by veterans shot up i-Tunes’ ratings to #1 yesterday, the first day it was available.

I’ll admit that I took some time off yesterday to watch it on Amazon. It was the first time that I’ve watched a movie and enjoyed every-damn-minute. I also knew what was going on every-damn-minute. There is no message, no politics, just a good old shoot-em-up with a whole bunch of humor that you can appreciate. There’s some tough moments, too – like watching Leroy Petry blow off his other hand with another hand grenade and Clint Romesha trying to staunch the blood. But, you know, if they thought it was funny, well, it’s OK for me to laugh at it, too.

The only political aspect of the movie was with President James Mattis, but you’d be hard pressed to find a veteran who wouldn’t support a Mattis presidency.

I spent more money buying the streaming version of the movie than I’ve ever spent on a movie and I don’t regret a penny of it. It’s not a movie that you want to sit with your kids and watch, but, then there are stories about your time in the military that you wouldn’t tell the kids either.

Saw it in Theater, with the GF, who is a Civilian… She’s still speaking to me and we are still dating, so its a movie anyone can appreciate! Lol

Once took a first date to see Little Big Man.She hated it, we never went out again. That movie still an absolute favorite 45 years later…

Jabatam

I’d completely forgotten that movie! It came out a few years before I was born but I watched it as a kid and loved it…haven’t seen it since though and need to rectify that

I donated to the making of this, and saw it in a theatre with a bunch of other veterans… and my fiancée who insists that I must now sit through several chick flicks to make up for it.
It is sick, depraved, and funny as hell. Mary Dague, one of the veterans in the movie just steals every scene she is in.
so glad they made #1 on ITunes. Apple was trying to get them to lower the price of the movie, because it was the same for new releases of films from Hollywood… cannot have a bunch of military upstarts competing with Hollywood. Especially since no one there wanted to touch this.

I donated too and got my Vimeo copy over the weekend. Yes, Sick, Depraved and absolutely Hi_larious!!!!

Nick giving the inspirational speeches was great. I would not see it with my wife. I would be going to chick flicks and Barry Manilow concerts until I died!

Go to 1:16 where Daniel Wall (other thread) is described. Who knew?

That trailer gets me LOLing every time!

Wilcox

Mattis is running for President?!? Damn! I’m always the last to know!

Ex-PH2

I dunno… it’s a zombie movie. No kissing and leaping around. Where’s the romance in it?

Brown Neck Gaitor

There is romance. Don’t want to give away the plot, but romance abounds..

Doug

The blow up doll. Still a better love story than any I’ve seen.

A Proud Infidel®™

Any good Midget Porn scenes?

Brown Neck Gaitor

Do you WANT me to give away the entire plot?

MSG Eric

Did you eat popcorn?

Grimmy

Is it sharp?

Club Manager

Looks like the romance may with the blowup doll one guy is carrying. Just sayin

Ex-PH2

So there is hope, then? And their offspring will look like Barbie and Ken?

I was trying to post a picture, but I will say that Jack and the doll is NOT the most messed romance in the movie.

Hopefully they didn’t use any army weapons, ranges or ammo without written permission.

So need a DVD of this. Wonder if it will be available in brick and mortar stores anytime soon.

fibmcgee1

Just finished Clint Romesha’s book “Red Platoon” about the battle at Outpost Keating this weekend.

Awesome read.

MSG Eric

I saw it in a small theater, I laughed so hard my cheeks were sore the next day. Absolutely hilarious from start to finish.

The best part is, if you get offended at all, there’s something in this movie for you to be offended about, you big pussy.

nbcguy54ACTUAL

Will there be a sequel? Something like “Range 301”??

Grimmy

Maybe go with “Range 16”. Gotta leave room in the numbers in case it goes to franchise.

nbcguy54ACTUAL

But many of us have fond memories of Range 301 at Graf. Probably more than a few good stories…

Daisy Cutter

I liked the part where the veteran pissed in the gas tank of the people that owned a Toyota Prius.

Then, as they were leaving, the veteran said (referring to the Prius owners) “I bet they watch ‘The View’ on a regular basis.”

19Delta

The Eiffel Tower scene was tremendous.

Aysel

As a civilian wife, I thought this movie was fucking funny, and I wouldn’t have let my husband see the without me, twice in a small theater full of other veterans.

SFC D

Told soon-to-be MRS D that Range 51 was out on Amazon, she jumped up and down like a kid at Christmas!

Ex-PH2

Well, it is on Amazon for viewing, but I want a DVD (whine), too. I have a library to build, y’know.
