So, We “Supported Democracy” In Turkey? Yeah. Right.

| July 25, 2016

Headline pretty much says it all:

Turkey seizes more than 2,200 institutions
as post-coup crackdown intensifies

Many of the institutions seized were “social, educational or health-care institutions and facilities”.  The stated reason for seizing them?  “National security.”In a related matter, Turkey has announced it will hire 20,000 teachers to replace those fired in purge which followed the coup’s failure.  During that purge, a total of 13,000 have been jailed; more than 50,000 have been fired from all fields of employment because of being suspected “coup supporters”.

Oh, and did I mention that 62 of those arrested for treason in Turkey are schoolchildren between the ages of 14 and 17? Or that they’ve issued arrest warrants for 42 journalists linked to a Turkish expatriate living in the US who opposes the current Turkish regime? Well, yeah – both of those are true too.

But don’t worry.  According to the current      gang of feckeless, naive idiots running US foreign policy      Administration, that’s just the Turkish democratic process at work. Hell, it must be – the President publicly pledged to “support the democratically elected government of Turkey” after the coup failed.

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

“Democractic process” my ass.  Here, the “old boss” referenced had the title “Sultan”.

I have no doubt that the likes of B. Hussein 0bama, Hitlery Rotten Cankles and their ilk would do just the same on US soil if they thought they could get away with it.

Just what game do you think they’re playing? Poker?

The coup planners were just monumentally incompetent-how do you go forward with carrying out a coup without making sure that you can put the government you are planning to overthrow under arrest?

Erdogan is now the strongman of the Bosporus, and that bodes ill for any hope of a more secular political Islam.

Combat Historian

In the end, it may all come out that Erdogan and his minions instigated the thing themselves and duped a bunch of officers into executing it so that Erdogan will have an excuse to begin his purge, sort of a combination of Kristallnacht and Night of the Long Knives all rolled into one…

Veritas Omnia Vincit

I’ve mentioned several times that you can’t trust that rat bastard in Turkey and that they are unreliable an ally of NATO as you could possibly find. With their overtures to Iran and Russia anyone thinking this is a democratic government is a fucking moron. Erdogan and company are nothing more than totalitarians in different clothing.

A coup that doesn’t first kill the guy they’re overthrowing isn’t much of a coup, sounds a lot more like a purge under the excuse of a coup…but I’m sure it must be as it was reported after all Obama and company would never be fooled by a foreign entity’s antics…after all it’s really obvious that Obama was correct when he stated ISIS was the JV squad so clearly Erdogan must be a friend of the west seeking to continue the great democratic traditions of the United States in his own homeland.

Ya’ know, that fella Erdogan seems awfully well organized for someone who just survived a coup attempt – something that, by definition had to be a surprise. He has already come up with tens of thousands of names of people to purge. It is almost like he had those lists before the coup. Probably just a coincidence, right?

Lostcause

Obama announcing support of Erdogan so publicly and so quickly was idiotic.

I am disgusted at the number of idiots that bought the “defending Turkish democracy” narrative.

Just remember folks, because it is vitally important:

The folks who say that Turkey is a Democratic country, and that Erdodan’s regime is Democratic,

Also beleive that the USA is a Democratic country, and that the current regime and its planned successor are both Democratic.

And they do not look upon recent events in Turkey with alarm and revulsion, but with hope and anticipation of change.

Here.

Pinto Nag

Precisely.

So you’re saying… that Obama is gonna run for Prime Minister of Turkey on a platform of hope and change? ohhhh wait…uh oh

I found the silver lining in this cloud. “Or that they’ve issued arrest warrants for 42 journalists….”
