Bobbie Glen Davis; still a phony Vietnam veteran
Earlier this year, we wrote about Bobbie Glen Davis, a member of the Board of Montrose County, Colorado Commissioners. In a meeting last August, he tried to give the public the impression that he was some sort of secret squirrel intelligence agent working with the French in Vietnam and in Thailand during our war in southeast Asia.
After that post published, he called me and accused me of undermining his political standing and siding with his political opponents. I don’t even know his opponents. I am apolitical when it comes to lies about military service, I just know unadulterated BS when I see it. His records say that he was an Air Force taxi driver in Korea and various duty stations in the continental US from 1961 – 1965.
When we talked on the phone, he admitted that he’d never been in Vietnam, then he went on to tell me about his time in Vietnam. The implication was that it was all hush-hush that a taxi driver was in Vietnam.
Well, there was another meeting of the Board on June 6th and the conversation drifted back to Bobbie Glen’s wild-ass tales;
Davis still claims that he was “more than a taxi driver” and I’ll concede that – he was also a driver school instructor. He claims that we can’t get his records without his signature, but there they are. He claims that he ordered a copy of his records – it’s been six months, so where are they? He admits that he’s never been to Vietnam, then he tells tales about being in Vietnam, in the same breath.
If you want the discussion about your military service to end, Bobbie Glen, come clean and quit casting dispersions on those of us who are only seeking the truth. Act your stinking age.

George Vandersluis is a fucking moron. He stood up at the meeting on 6/6/2016 and acted disgusted that Veterans would speak out about the lies of Glen Davis in a public meeting. Saying that was not the place to vent personal opinions. Well, since Glen Davis is a County Commissioner who has lied to the public, in a public meeting, I would say he opened the door wide open to be challenged “in a public meeting” about his military lies. Whit Bailey, the “Commander” of the local VFW for Montrose, Colorado is a limpdick who let Glen Davis completely shit all over him in public. He asked Davis to join the VFW. Guess what Whit, in case you haven’t been paying attention, Glen Davis is a liar, not a veteran of any foreign War. By the way, the Montrose VFW itself is full of posers and phonies. It reminds me of the local “liars club”. Bill Bennett who started out strong in the reading of his letter at the BOCC meeting of 6/6/2016, was shut down by Davis after 30 seconds. It looked like he had taken a direct hit by a 500 pounder. Not a very impressive performance by any standard. He should have stood his ground to the poser, Davis, and not allowed Davis to shut him down so fast. At the meeting of 6/6/2016 Davis once again claimed he was only 12 years old when his “uncle” returned from WW2 with the CMOH. Well, Davis was born in 1941. That would put the year 1953 when his “uncle” returned from WW2. What did he do, float home in an inner tube across the pacific. Also, in the meeting of 8/17/2015 when asked by a Veteran what his “uncles” name was, the one that “got” the CMOH, Davis backpedaled and said it really wasn’t his “uncle”. I’m sorry for your situation but there is some solace in knowing that thousands of visitors to this site from across the country and beyond know about this guy Davis now.
It would have been rather difficult for him to have been in Vietnam or Thailand or Laos or, for that matter, Germany or Bulgaria during his active duty days. The reason is right there in his official records: other than a brief stint in Korea, his Air Force driving was done in other exotic, faraway places with names such as Texas and South Carolina. And just as he evidently is not proud of his own military service, he was not proud of his realtives’ service if, in fact, he had relatives who actually served. Were this not true, he wouldn’t have concocted the MOH lie. He can tell himself whatever he likes, rationalize however he likes, and let others mollycoddle him and tell him it doesn’t matter what he said. None of it matters because the truth will not be denied. And in the dead of night, he himself knows it.
I attend a lot of public meetings that are run under Roberts Rules of Order or modified Roberts Rules and have spent a lot of time learning those rules.
When you are making public comments, it is important to remember that you cannot make comments directly about a person on a board. You need to also remember that you are speaking to the Chair and to no one else (not the other members or the audience.) Therefore couch your comments in such a way that everyone knows who you are talking about, but you are not talking about him directly. You can say something like “a Commissioner on this Board made a statement in 2015 that he had served in Viet Nam when the facts show he did not.” The point is still made, but it is not a personnel attack.
Also, the moment Davis stopped or interrupted the remarks, someone should have said something along the lines of “point of order, Mr Davis does not have the floor and his interruption is inappropriate and contrary to the rules governing this body.” That point of order must be resolved before the Board can move on. Since there is no way Davis could have taken the floor legally, you win and get to speak. The only thing that might happen is that Davis brings up a point of order on being attacked, which can then be answered with “Commissioner Davis was not mentioned in my comments and therefore the Board cannot consider my comments a personnel attack.”
Don’t let a member of any Board bully you around simply because they are sitting on the dais.
Learn the rules of the game and demand that the people on the dais play by those rules.

A few words to Bobbie Glen, those who support him, those who oppose him, and those who don’t care one way or the other:
We in this community do not care what office Bobbie Glen holds, where he was elected, if he is affiliated with a political party (much less which one), or any other factor other than he is lying about the nature of his military service. He has lied about his military service and continues to lie about it.
At a minimum, we expect him to quit lying about his military service. An apology would be very nice but is neither expected nor absolutely necessary. However, were I among the citizenry of his community, I would expect his immediate resignation from public office. He has proven himself unfit to hold any form of public trust.
Bobbie Glen, you took the public stage voluntarily and chose to drag your own self into this mess. Instead of simply not lying, you have compounded your problems by expanding those lies with public insults of veterans who chose NOT to lie about themselves.
As shocking as it may be to you, Bobbie Glen, you can now expect to reap the rewards of what you have sown. Am thinking that you are not going to be happy with the results. This is the politician who claims the air force flew him to Vietnam from Korea with a paper to deliver. He was an airman 2nd class a taxi driver.The Army would require the rank to be at least a lieutenant and in signals. This was in the early sixties. Davis has made the public statement that he cannot get his military records. However, he has sent a friend of mine one page of what he received back from filling out a Form 180. So, in one breath Davis says he can’t get his records, but his mistake in sending that one page proves he did get his records, including his DD214 but he refuses to tell anyone and makes up yet another lie. Apparently what he received via the Form 180 showed nothing more than what was received from the FOIA, so he does not want to present it. The guy is a compulsive liar.
He soon will have to answer to a higher official within the State of Colorado. It is in the works this very second. The pudding is in, and the proof is in the pudding.

His flippant remark for the newspaper was that he made a mistake and got the wrong card out of his wallet because, (listen carefully)he is “color blind”. Can you imagine anyone believing that bullshit line of shit. The guy is a LIAR. Nothing ever became of it, perhaps because the county attorney was also caught doing the same thing, personal purchases on the county credit card. In my humble opinion, that is theft of public money.

I have two credit cards . One for normal purchases the other for things like scotch and an occasional luxury item. It helps me keep track of expenses. I’ve never used the wrong card , of course I’m the one who pays the bill.

About two weeks ago the Colorado Ethics commission determined that the complaint against Bobby Glen Davis was “Frivolous” and would not be pursued by them. This is the Colorado Ethics Commission that obviously has no ethics. Colorado Ethics Commission, YOU ARE FIRED…..Some local Veterans are now wondering, “where do we go from here?”. Davis is defiant, challenging us to do something about his lies. The lie of him having a Top Secret Clearance remains on the County Website. Montrose County Colorado. Any ideas ?

UPDATE…..January 17, 2017 a BOCC meeting was held in Montrose, Colorado. Two new county commissioners on the board. Davis is still a commissioner but not the Chairman. During this public meeting a local Veteran stepped up to the podium. That same one that was denied the right to speak at the June 6, 2016 meeting. Denied by Davis. He went on to explain to the public and the two new commissioners the non truths and claims of Bobby Glen Davis. Davis lost his tempter listening to this and right there in front of the Sheriff and probably a hundred members of the public and the press, Davis said to this Veteran that they will one day meet outside these chambers and that he would make sure it happens, where this man (pointing at the Sheriff) cannot do anything about it. He went on to say, and if you are worried about that, I am older than YOU. This was said to a retired Marine Major. I have the voice recording of that 5 minute interaction but not sure how to put it on this website. Would be glad to if anyone would like to hear it…….Davis continues to stand behind the “secret squirrel” excuse and is defiant, won’t admit his lies and continues to tell the public it is a group of Veterans just trying to destroy him politically. Well, yes and no. There is a process for a recall. Takes a lot of signatures to get it started. He comes up for re-election in two years. Would be easier to mount a campaign against him starting in about a year. Hopefully, someone will run against him. Another problem is getting vets involved as I already mentioned. The audio portion of the threat in the meeting can be sent to John Lilyea so you guys can hear it. If that is allowed on here. As the Paul Hardcastle song, “The Truth Shall Set You Free” This is not a vendetta against Bobby Glen Davis, it is simply Veterans wanting him to tell the truth, apologize for lying, and get on with life, I think we all deserve that, including Davis himself. There is new hope with two new commissioners that DO NOT like the guy. One problem is that many veterans are afraid to step up to the plate and say something. They sit silently and seethe but are not willing to stand up, stand out, and speak their mind. We have the claims, we have the facts, all documented. Yes, it is maddening, and I agree, if the people, the vets, won’t stand up and do something except give lip service to each other, nothing will change. This just keeps on getting idiotic with Davis. He stated at the last commissioners meeting that he was a carrier in the Air Force . I haven’t found anyone who served in the Air Force who knew what a carrier was or that there was such a position. He still is saying that while in Korea the Air Force flew him to Vietnam to deliver a paper. Keeping in mind that his mos was a taxi driver and that he was an airman 2nd class . He also states that he was in Florida during the missile crisis and several other places ( which he didn’t elaborate on) and was on Lyndon Johnson’s presidential detail in Texas. His paper work acquired through the freedom of information act shows that he was in Lackland Texas for basic training, Korea 14 months vehicle operator-taxi unit, Myrtle Beach South Carolina 6 months 354th transportation, Barksdale , LA 4238th transportation- vehicle opr-6 months, Bernstrom Texas 340th transportation driver shc instructor 6 months and deros. Okay four years enlistment 14 months in Korea then three state side duty stations lasting 6 months.
