Lawrence Patterson; phony Canadian hero
Our pals in Canada send us this fellow, Lawrence “Larry” Patterson of Nova Scotia.
Claims he was a reservist serving with the 2nd Bn Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) Battle Group in Croatia in 1993. He solicited members of A Coy, 2 PPCLI on the Op HARMONY FB page, to vouch for his operational service and to validate the injuries he received from an IED strike in order to support a fraudulent Veterans Affairs Disability Award application. Not one soldier stepped forward to help an “injured brother” because, Patterson isn’t one!
Larry the Liar is not listed on the Battle Group’s nominal roll, he’s not on the chalk assignments for the outbound flights to Croatia, and he’s not listed as a recipient of the CinC Commendation… There can only be one conclusion to draw from that information, Patterson never served in Croatia with 2 PPCLI!
Any soldier will know particulars of their overseas service, and would be able to repeat the details in a heart-beat if asked. Soldiers remember the names of their section mates, their commanders, and the dates and locations of significant incidents. Patterson cannot provide this information nor, can any one of the dozens of soldiers we have spoken with vouch for his claimed operational service.
Sources have indicated that there are a number of ongoing investigations regarding Patterson’s fakery including identity theft and fraud.
He claims that he was injured in the Battle for the Medak Pocket in 1993 against Croatians. 45 minutes of background on the battle;
That didn’t work out for him;

A Canadian phoney? Hey, Patterson: “Take off, eh?”
Well, “take off” isn’t really exactly the phrase that comes to mind. But I’m trying to keep this comment from being NSFW.
Hoser!
yeah, I went for the obvious.
You bet me to it in calling Lawrence Patterson a HOSER, and I also think he looks like a Mens’ Room toe-tapping meat gazer as well.
Hell, he’s a cockmeat connoisseur!
I am ashamed to admit I never heard of this battle
Learned something today
I’m curious. What defines a hero? I’m anxious to read some responses.
A hero? Kinda like porn hard to define, but you know it when you see it.
This is the perfect hero, imo.

Hmm. Looks kinda familiar. (smile)

The competing definitions of hero and heroic are many. To my experience, one who acts nobly or righteously in opposing some wrong or injustice is commonly labeled a hero. The term hero is abused frequently, such as in sports, when a walk-off hit, a three-pointer at the buzzer, or a Hail Mary pass captures victory. My own definition of a hero is someone who risks his life or limb to prevent or stop injury to another, without a duty or obligation to do so. Others will disagree, but I guess that’s the point of your question.
I agree with your definition.
My Dad told me that heroes are easy to spot:
When everybody else is running out…They are running in.
And these brave men went running in. God bless them, especially after what they found when they got there.
Wonder if he has met Sticky Bums?
There are reports that Wave “Sticky Buns” Rayner and his medallic fuckery (TM) resurfaced at a Canada Day event in Leduc, Albert. The hunt is on for pics…
You have to be kidding?
Maybe his PTSD flared up and someone threw tennis balls at him to snap him out of it?
Wonder if he’s planning on moving to Florida any time soon. The gravitational pull of poser central there seems to pull them in like asteroids. Or hemorrhoids. All Points is calling!
Sounds like a black hole in the making. Is that racist?
Hoot mon. Or something like that. Canadia has its own BlackLivesMater problems too. Officials are breaking their backs accomodating the BLM hoodlums but nothing is enough. Screw ’em.
He looks like the law just walked in on him with some kids.
Creep-O-zoid.
I went through Basic in 1985 and we had Kaki Canadian flag on our combats and I was in Lahr, Germany when the first Canadian Contigent went to forme Yugo in 1992. They sure did not have the Canada patch on their combats. Look at the Sgt in the center on the youtube post over the picture of the wanabe, on his left shoulder, the kaki Canadian flag. The wanabe probably bought the combat in an army surplus store with the Canada patch already there.
Lawrence uh…I can’t resist….
Cocksucker.
In watching that video, I am curious about the infantry weapon employed by the PPCLI.
It looks like an M-16 rifle, but the “carrying handle” (we were told in the Army that it was NOT a “carrying handle”!) isn’t obvious, and more importantly, what type of scope is it that’s mounted on the rifle?
The standard personal weapon in the Canadian Army is the C7 rifle manufactured by Colt Canada. The opital sight is the C79 Elcan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_Canada_C7_rifle

Thanks!
I believe it’s a C7 or C8, the version of the M16 licensed to Canada. Made by Diemaco until 2005.
C-7 , SAW version is called the C-9
Thanks!
Aside from the fact that those guys look really sharp, I’m also curious as to the music that they’re marching to?
Does anyone know what it is?
I just now looked up their national anthem, “OH CANADA”, on YOU TUBE, and I don’t think that’s it.
They are marching to “the Maple Leaf Forever”.
Thanks!

“THE MAPLE LEAF FOREVER”
VERSE #01:
In days of yore, from Britain’s shore,
Wolfe, the dauntless hero came,
And planted firm Britannia’s flag,
On Canada’s fair domain.
Here may it wave, our boast, our pride,
And joined in love together,
The thistle, shamrock, rose entwine
The Maple Leaf forever!
CHORUS:
The Maple Leaf, our emblem dear,
The Maple Leaf forever!
God save our Queen, and Heaven bless,
The Maple Leaf forever!
VERSE # 02:
At Queenston Heights and Lundy’s Lane,
Our brave fathers, side by side,
For freedom, homes, and loved ones dear,
Firmly stood and nobly died;
And those dear rights which they maintained,
We swear to yield them never!
Our watchword evermore shall be,
The Maple Leaf forever!
CHORUS:
VERSE #03:
Our fair Dominion now extends
From Cape Race to Nootka Sound;
May peace forever be our lot,
And plenteous store abound:
And may those ties of love be ours
Which discord cannot sever,
And flourish green o’er freedom’s home
The Maple Leaf forever!
CHORUS:
VERSE # 04:
On merry England’s far famed land
May kind heaven sweetly smile,
God bless old Scotland evermore
and Ireland’s Em’rald Isle!
And swell the song both loud and long
Till rocks and forest quiver!
God save our Queen and Heaven bless
The Maple Leaf forever!
CHORUS:

“OH, CANADA!”
Oh, Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts, we see thee rise,
The True North, strong and free!
From far and wide,
Oh, Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
Oh, Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
Oh, Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
John,
Good to see you back on. I was wondering how you were doing.
