A Tarred Admiral for Hillary’s VP?

| July 14, 2016

The Hillary campaign has floated the possibility of retired admiral, James G. Stavridis, as a vice-presidential pick, a man who appears to fit the mold of a Democrat military leader quite well. He’s an intellectual, a military egghead with a PhD and numerous other academic honors and accomplishments. Under the Obama administration he became the first naval officer to head up NATO as Supreme Allied Commander Europe and he was probably headed for greater heights in the Pentagon had he not become mired in a tacky scandal.

While Stavridis was serving as SACEUR, anonymous tipsters apparently provided sufficient evidence to justify the initiation of an extensive investigation into his reputed misuse of government aircraft and automobiles, unauthorized use of government communications, receiving unauthorized per diem compensation and taking unreported gifts from foreign nations. No wonder Hillary likes the guy.

The lengthy investigative report (.pdf link) determined there were grounds to, “take appropriate corrective action with regards to ADM Stavridis,” but it was disregarded by über progressive navy secretary, Ray Mabus, who concluded, “I have determined that ADM Stavridis never attempted to use his public office for private gain nor did he commit personal misconduct.

You should note that “I” not “we,” nor “a lengthy naval investigation,” which is a not unexpected response from the arrogant and narcissistic Mabus, a Pentagonian prince not known for heeding subordinates nor following naval tradition. What’s likely is that Stavridis was a “four star” in favor with the Obama administration for his progressive sympathies in diversifying the navy, and as we have most recently seen, under this administration, high-ranking, in-favor, Democrat wrongdoers operate by a different set of laws and regulations than we, the great unwashed, so Stavridis walked. However, the scandal must have been seen by the Obama administration as being sufficient to prevent further military advancement for Stavridis as he retired in 2013 without additional promotion.

For those of you who might question the admiral’s qualifications to be vice-president, I say,

“Hey, at least he’d go into the job with an up close and personal understanding of the Democrat system of justice.”

Perfect ft for Cankles…believes in “smart power”.

Just fucking wonderful…

B Woodman

“smart power”
Second only to The Smartest Woman In The World.

desert

The wicked bitch of the east only came up with the admiral, after Trump said he was considering a General! What’s really good is the dizzy bitch HATES the military!! she must want him to carry her bags!

HMC Ret

I don’t see the benefit of having this guy on the ticket. Well, maybe he’ll garner the votes of all flag officers. I don’t get it.

Maybe, as an egghead, he can using liberal talking points to beat opponents into submission and sway the voting public.

I thought wideload would choose someone of color, not a WASP. This guy defines WASP.

Yef

Yeah. I don’t see this happening. This guy brings nothing to the table to help smart pantsuits on fire. I agree the witch is going for a black guy.

nbcguy54ACTUAL

She wants to be THE minority on the ticket. A person of color would detract the attention from her as well as giving the appearance that she actually cares about people of color.

(just an observation – white is a color too)

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Indeed when discussing additive color white is the combination of all other colors and black is actually the absence of color…

Graybeard

Trying to show that Broom-Hildabeast cares about the military, too?

Considering how the past has gone, I don’t want her to “care” for me or mine. A rag-head has more compassion.

LC

I’m guessing his name was floated just to counter any media narrative of the ‘ooh, ahh’ factor of military experience once word came from the Trump campaign that they were looking at retired LTG Flynn.

It’s narrative, not serious consideration, I think.

A Proud Infidel®™

Admiral, thus I ass-u-me he was a four-starred political suck-up dedicated to political correctness and selling out much like Wesley Clark.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

I don’t see this as an actual choice, but it makes it look like she’s considering the concerns of the military by placing him on the VP vetting list….that way she can use him in the administration later when she passes him over as a VP choice.

USMCMSgt (Ret)

Next SecNav?

HMC Ret

Floating this guy’s name is wideload’s version of ‘Military personnel, I feel your pain’ or some such pablum. I really don’t need her feeling anything about me.

Atkron

Isn’t this the guy that fired for living like a Prince in Naples?

Kilo3/7

She’ll pick a white guy.

She thinks that being a woman automatically gets her the woman vote, being a Democrat automatically gets her the minority vote, so she will most likely pick a white guy as her VP.

This allows her to 1) keep the spotlight on herself, 2) attempt to woo some of the Republicans and Independents who are not completely sold on Trump by making it seem like she isn’t a COMPLETE stankass hippie.

C. Long

Trump begins to sell out and will pick Pence. Clinton will try to corner the woman vote even more then she has and pick Warren although at last call she was falling in the running I believe.

HMC Ret

‘than’

Still a typo?

C. Long

Oops, yes I typed the wrong work.

😉

HMC Ret

I got it.

HMC Ret

I just don’t see what Pence brings to the party. If Trump is trying to solidify the conservative base, then, yes, he’s a good choice. I really believe he SHOULD reach across ethnic and maybe even party lines to choose a person who can attract those who otherwise would not vote for a Republican ticket. I’m not suggesting a sellout on Trump’s part; I’m suggesting he take the steps necessary to win the election. I’m advocating he make the smart move. That’s not a sellout … It’s the reality of winning a Presidential election. I like Condi Rice. Yeah, yeah, I know and I don’t care, but would like feedback anyway. Choosing Condi would do much to nullify the Democrat’s manta re the Republican ‘war on women/war on people of color’ etc. Please, Republicans, don’t have an all-WASP male ticket.

Warren? Uh, don’t know. She seems to be at or near the top of the VP choice food chain, but wouldn’t wideload also want to reach across ethnic/party lines, choosing one who would appeal to a greater number of voters? I don’t see how choosing Warren would garner that many more votes for the party. I think the liberal female vote is a wrap for wideload as it is.

Silentium Est Aureum

Sorry Doc, but Newt is still the best choice among the short list candidates.

Christie will only ensure a lot of folks like me stay home. Pence did manage to piss off a few people in IN as governor, and that will have national implications.

Would I like to seeRice accept the nod? Sure, but she’s not going to and there aren’t a lot of minority conservatives that don’t generate very strong feelings (re: West.)

Again, Gingrich is fine, Pence maybe, Christie no fucking way.

HMC Ret

SEA: Ditto on Christie. To me, Newt has too many negatives, going back to his being SoH. I believe the Republican Party must, simply must reach across party/gender/ethic lines in an attempt to nullify the Democrat mantra re the numbers/types of people against whom the Republicans are at war. Trump has been mostly silent for some weeks, not being in full attack mode. When he adopts that mode, it is going to be entertaining as hell. I expect Trump will have an anything goes policy of attack. But, he must reach across barriers. He must generate interest for the Republican ticket among folks who otherwise would not give that ticket a second thought. I don’t see Newt/Pence and certainly not Christie, generating that interest.

Hondo

Agree. Gingrich is still toxic. Good choice for appointive office, but would be a negative during the election.

C. Long

A lot of people see his picking Pence as an admission that he(Trump) isn’t a conservative. Even the Speaker has made that description in so many words.

If Trump wins, and that’s a huge if, he’ll do it being himself. He is already what a lot of people erroneously think Republicans are: loud, stubborn, racist, incapable of change. He can use that reason to justify both picking and not picking Pence.

Then again, it’s Trump. Who knows what will happen? We will know today I’m sure.

GDContractor

Well, one thing we can know for sure, is that because Trump is not a military veteran, he is unlikely to use shoot and move tactics while killing uniformed officers. Just brainstorming.

Ex-PH2

Geezo Pete, GDC, I do wish when you post stuff like that, you’d add a spew alert!

I almost sprayed my monitor screen!

A Proud Infidel®™

Clong, you must be a Hillarrhoid, you sure spout off nonsense and pointless bullshit like one.

2/17 Air Cav

Clong needs to start his own blog. He can call it, “Many Veterans are very bad people” and encourage contributors to share their own very bad Veteran stories. Of course, there will be no proof required that the persons written be Veterans at all.

Ex-PH2

AirCav, are you sure clongodongo is a boy?

Sure does write like a girl.

Boys usually write like Mack trucks.

Just sayin’.

A Proud Infidel®™

IMHO it’s likely he/it is one of those testosterone-allergic feeble effeminate no-nuts types one sees infesting coffee shops near colleges and universities, he/it could also be a hippie.

2/17 Air Cav

No, but GDC says the Clong’s first name is Christopher so it probably is. On the other hand, I don’t know whether there are genders on his planet, Ex-.

Silentium Est Aureum

Jesus, why not pick Sestak then?

11B-Mailclerk

Sestak? Those creatures from Land of the Lost?

David

Expect the liberal “the Democrats are the party that really, really supports the military – look at our VP choice” in 3…2…1…

One good thing about the Democrats, they really demonstrate and live the concept of “the best justice system money can buy”

11B-Mailclerk

So she may pick someone with potential charges still hanging over him? That would certainly keep him obedient and cooperative.

A Proud Infidel®™

Makes sense to me, the Clintons like to have lots of dirt on people they keep close to them so they can keep them obedient.

Green Thumb

Mabus = Turd.

SFC D

“I ain’t in no ways tarred”.

2/17 Air Cav

But for the plagiarist and lear Joey “Shotgun” Biden, most veeps are doorstops. Intellectually, Biden certainly is, but unless the pres dies in office, they don’t much matter. Funny thing about that in our Republic. We know that the system has changed and we have been getting a twofer for quite some time now. I really don’t like it.

Silentium Est Aureum

Early word source has it Pence will be Trump’s VP pick, official at 11 am EDT tomorrow.

Perry Gaskill

Hillary should pick Fat Leonard. He’s the one apparently actually running the Navy…

Devtun

The last time an admiral got picked as the vice…well that ended in disaster. That flag officer was a national hero & Vietnam POW, but jeezus things got real ugly under the bright lights. A good man got relentlessly pilloried by the media & SNL especially.

HMC Ret

The metallic sound that resonates about this country and Vietnam to this day is the sound of his metallic balls in a wheelbarrow. He’s been gone for a time, but the sound of James Stockdale’s metallic balls can still be heard. What the cowardly MSM did to him is a disgrace. They are pure trash, mostly lacking in the knowledge and honor of service to country.

Ex-PH2

What are you guys complaining about? The lamestream media do not exist to tell the truth. Don’t you know that? The only thing they care about is ‘Did you see me on TV? How’d I look?’ and ‘I got a job as a TV REPORTER!!! I’m important now!’

Please don’t expect real intelligence of them. You’d find more brains in a box of Dreft detergent.

Ex-PH2

Well, first of all, shrillary should pick me for that position for several reasons.

1 – With me, you get a two-fer: two gals for the price of one, and she DOES have a price, doesn’t she?

2 – She send me a demand for money for her campaign fund, a demand for the munificent sum of $20.16. Yeah, that’s right, that old cow wants $20 + .8% tax just to get me to vote for her, so I say if I have to pay, she has to play.

3 – I have more dirt on her than she has on me, including that ‘shopped video of her running from exploding bullets in Bosnia.

4 – Now this one is important, so pay attention: I need the money and a bump up in Social Security. I have car repairs to pay for and need to get some work done around the house. Consider it hush money.

Any questions?

This “decline to prosecute” thing seems to run in more places than just the (In)Justice Department in this soon to terminate Obama Administration, doesn’t it?
