Bryan Whitman; DoD parking police

I hated living in DC. Parking was such a problem, that I gave up my car and my driver’s license for ten years while I lived there. Then I moved to West Virginia and I haven’t had a parking problem since. Maybe Bryan Whitman should consider moving, too. The career Department of Defense official and retired military officer lives on Capitol Hill and he has to park on the street because in the 18th century, when most of the houses were built there, they didn’t have garages, I guess. He took it upon himself to regulate parking on his street where permits are required to park. A neighbor’s nanny had a visitor permit for the time she cared for a toddler and Whitman didn’t like it – he removed the nanny’s license plates from her car. First one, then the other. The third time they caught the 58-year-old on video, according to MSN;
“In light of the pending criminal case involving Bryan Whitman, he has been placed on administrative leave while the department reviews this matter,” Trowbridge said in an email Thursday afternoon.
The move is significant, according to a senior Pentagon official, in large part because Whitman has now lost his “top secret sensitive compartmented information” security clearance — the highest level attainable in the U.S. government. The official said it could take years for Whitman to regain that status because he will have to start the clearance process from the beginning.
The fact that the nanny had a visitor pass is completely legal according to local parking authorities, so Whitman succumbed to the illness that is so prevalent among DC residents – that being that no-one is more important than me and no one knows more about local laws than me, so I can do anything I want to enforce the law.
Like I said, I hate DC. Thanks to all of the people who filled my inbox with this story who are too numerous to list here.
Category: Who knows
What a fucking dickweed. Yes recovering that clearance isn’t a joke. My Brother was laid off from his contracting job and by the time the field opened up again his clearance was expired.
He was pretty much told it was much cheaper for a company to hire someone with much less experience and ability who still had a clearance then to hire him and pay for the background checks.
That attitude is pervasive in DC, which is so out of touch with the rest of the country they might as well be their own country.
Build a wall around DC (District of Criminals), with Checkpoint Charlie style entrance and exit.
I’m mostly with you on that. I say “mostly” b/c I’m not sure about the exit part.
Not sure if you have ever lived in DC but I don’t recognize what you’re talking about. People come to DC from all states for an education and jobs, most of which aren’t for the government. People from New York and Chicago seem much more entitled, maybe because many DC residents come from small towns and rural areas.
In this jerk’s case, I hope that access to TS/compartmented material is an essential element of his current job. If so, he may well be looking for another job fairly soon.
Having read the article, it sounds like he has a history of being unhinged.
Karma finally caught up to his dumb ass.
Good luck with getting your TS/SCI back, dickhead.
Yeah, I read the whole piece and if the intent was to paint him to be an asshole, it was a success. Out came other dirt, not involving illegality. I guess it was ‘get-even’ time. He’s been offered a deal that allows him to escape prosecution. That’s nice. He has also been ordered to stay off the street where the nanny parked, so he has lost a whole block of potential parking spaces. That’s a scream. His ass may be fried, nevertheless, b/c it appears that he did not inform his chain of the matter. That’s a rookie mistake, trying to keep shit hidden. And that’s good enough reason to boot him, if it’s true.
Shithead!
“Nobody puts Jonn in the corner”.
Ahhhh…. good ole DC “Privilege”… there’s your privilege folks, right there.
Another special snowflake finding out that he’s not so fucking special after all…this makes me smile on so many levels.
That smug prick figured he could do whatever he wanted to whomever he wanted until he learned differently.
Here’s hoping that fuckstick loses his job, his house and his career for being such a serious fucking douchebag asshole.
DoD official and retired military officer. You have to wonder what kind of a prick he was to serve with. The nanny needs to find a smart lawyer then she would own a capitol hill house – his.
Was thinking the same.
I can tell since I was his driver at Ft Lewis ’87-’88. Guy was a dick. He went off on a pizza delivery driver who was in his HMMWV spot after hours on a week day. We just happened to be coming back from a FTX and I had to drop him off at the Co Area before turning the vehicle in. He could have just stepped out of the vehicle and into the building but that wasn’t good enough.
I have to wonder, is it the DC area itself? Or the entitlement-minded Libtards that live there? Or does one breed the other? Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Nurture? Or Nature?
Either way, I’m staying as far away as possible. I’d love to go visit the Smithsonian, but.. . . . .
Visiting the Open Air Whorehouse on the Potomac isn’t that bad. Just don’t stay very long.
And remember to shower thoroughly after you get home.
This guy is a Republican. Don’t criticize people in a city you’ve never been to. Most people living in DC don’t work for the givernment and are from small towns and cities all over America. People come to DC from all states for an education and jobs, most of which aren’t for the government. People from New York and Chicago seem much more entitled, maybe because many DC residents come from small towns and rural areas.
Saw this in the news, cracked me up that he’s Public Affairs, gives briefings on how policies and actions would be perceived by the pres and the public. This 5-sided puzzle palace will weird-out anyone if you stay long enough…
It’s only partially in jest called the “Five-Sided Asylum”.
Which is part of The Great Big Whorehouse on the Potomac River.
Negative. The Five Sided Asylum is across the river from the Open Air Whorehouse on the Potomac. However, both are indeed “well serviced” by a local gang called the “Beltway Bandits”. (smile)
He’s lucky he didn’t get a beat-down for fukking around with someone’s car.
He took the license plates off someone’s car?
I don’t care whose car it was. It’s very illegal where I live. In fact, you can get some quality time in the hoosegow for doing that.
Now if it happens to you where I live, and you report it but recover the plates, you have to carry a police report that says you recovered your own stolen plates. Personally, I’d just get a new set with a new number.
But then, I come from a civilized place, not WDC.
Oh, yes – those buildings originally had coach houses or stables attached to them for the carriages and curricles drawn by the homeowners’ horses, depending on where they lived.
I recently left the DMV area just over two weeks ago.
Life has never been better!
Off the subject, but did Hitlary lose her security clearance and if so shouldn’t she have the same issues getting another clearance if she were to win?
Winning the election is here Clearance, it comes with the job. I agree that she should not have one, and should not win, but sadly its not up to me.
Interesting. It should be the other way around. Being able to gain a clearance should be a prerequisite.
This guy has several career options to select from. One, of course, is All Points Logistics. They are not too particular when it comes to hiring Justice involved senior executives, especially in their Reston VA office. The other option is a proud woman owned software vendor out of Bethesda MD. Fair warning, I already have the slot as Director Of Media Relations. Elaine Ricci signed me to a lifetime contract, and if anyone wants to dispute that, they can bring Elaine Ricci to dispute it in a courtroom.
Karma does NOT hold off when she bites back! I wonder what else that smug prick has done?
He’ll probably be hired by the Hildabeast to handle her private server. Doesn’t need a clearance for that since she doesn’t care if it has classified or not on it. He’d fit right in with that bunch; privilege and all. Turd.
Ironically, it looks as if s reserved parking spot at The Pentagon just became available.
Interestingly, Global Address shows him as “OSD(PA) Principle Deputy.”
Public Affairs?
Gee, what are the optics on THIS?
From the article: “He’d played an integral role in developing and managing the early days of the U.S. military’s journalist embed program in Iraq, describing himself on his LinkedIn page as its principal architect.”
So is he the one responsible for letting Michael Yon persist in all of his foolishness?
Early on, best I can tell Yon actually was a decent reporter of fact and observation. Then he apparently began to believe the accolades, began to suffer from delusions of infallibility/grandeur/superiority, and went off the rails.
Any resemblance the description in the above paragraph bears to any current or past commenter at TAH is completely coincidental, even if apropos.
That was my impression as well. The thread on Professional Soldiers is particularly enlightening. . .
If Mr Whitman was so concerned about parking, why not just live in Springfield, Virginia? The livin’ is pretty cheap out here, and there’s plenty of parking at the Franconia-Springfield Metro station for the daily commute. From there, it’s the Blue Line straight to the Pentagon, then perhaps a five minute stroll into the building itself.
Everyone here is going to have to help me out as usual. What did this dipshit hope to accomplish by stealing one plate at a time? Is the permit stuck on the plate, hung from the rearview mirror, set on the dash or what?
Sounds like he was banging her and they had a feud.
